It seems they took time to identify him as it was some sort of coach trip, which is often paid for with cash. So, it could have been hard to track down as there were no digital records.
Also, there seems to have been an argument that occurred and got out of hand, which also means proving who did what whilst various lies fly around from all sides will be hard. It will be tough for them to get a conviction, but possible. I suspect this will drag on.
In the meantime, if it continues and is not settled, then yep, no one will come in for Chair as it's too risky and the bad PR. He will stay ours for now, but it also means our asset will depreciate as no one will sign him.
It could also be a shakedown by chancers as it seems the lawyers are claiming.
