| Rampant R's to Brum Rush The Show Match Thread on 18:20 - Oct 17 with 2733 views | ViewFrom165 | As frustrating as that was today I'm doing my utmost to not overreact. Not usually one to make excuses in our defence but it would be nice to go in to the third game of 3 in a week on a level playing field with the opposition. Nobody should have to face a team with an extra days rest AND playing consecutive Home games which seems to happen to us a lot. Despite that, that was easily our worst 90 minute performance where nobody can come out with any credit. Gifted a solid but ordinary team 3 goals with 3 sloppy turnovers of possession and offered nothing in return in attack. We looked devoid of ideas of how to get in behind and break them down, whether that's due to a lack of time to prepare or everyone just having an off day, it was really bad. Goals and the manner of conceding them do change games but I was really disappointed that there was no reaction after the first and second when I've praised the mentality of the players so much this season. The Squad do have some credit in the bank after the first 10 games and whilst in the heat of the moment it's easy to point the finger at players who played today, we should be more annoyed about the injured players and the Staff that can't keep them fit which ultimately gives us less opportunity to rotate or change the game off the bench in these circumstances. Got to move on quickly and get a good week of recuperation and preparation in for the Swansea game. | | | |

But flipping heck, a bit of reality please ladies and gents. It's only the second game we've lost this season, we are injury ravaged and playing away at a very decent team that has opened the chequebook. It's almost as if we thought we'd get through the season without losing again. Next Saturday is obviously now more important, but my faith is kept and in check. I've wanted a season where we are having a bit more fun and flirting with the playoffs for so long, and that's what I've got. So far.

We’ll be garbage at times . 99% of teams are! Understand the frustration for those that travelled or even sat through it . But mark it as ‘one of those games’ and move on I reckon. Annoying, but ultimately inevitable in every QPR season. From the small bits I’ve seen and heard, the fans have sounded incredible too. Brilliant support this season . Long may it continue .

| Rampant R's to Brum Rush The Show Match Thread on 19:16 - Oct 17 with 2316 views | Beckenhamhoop | Haven’t seen anything of today’s game but I think the fact we’ve bought in some significantly better players than we’ve been used to in the truly dreadful squads we’ve had for a few years has got some people over excited about our prospects. The players we’ve brought in, I would suggest, have brought us up to the level where we should be comfortably able to tread water in the Championship this season. I think the standard of squads in the Championship has improved a lot recently and if we hadn’t shaken up our squad we’d have been relegated in this or any one of the last two years, (how we stayed up three years ago with the likes of Kakay and Dozzell I’ll never know). I never thought a top six position was viable. We’ll do extremely well to finish 7th or 8th and I personally think that is beyond us with the amount of injuries and seriously out of form players we have (here’s looking at you Poku, Kone and Vale. | |

Defeat looked likely from very early on, and a few players were extremely lucky not to be subbed for their pathetic efforts at getting back to protect the house. Not getting down about it or anything, but I would think there'd be harsh words by the defenders aimed at some of those who were supposed to give them cover.

| Rampant R's to Brum Rush The Show Match Thread on 19:28 - Oct 17 with 2230 views | JezHoops | I sat though it on TV and think it was just a bad day against a very good team. They were physical , quick on the break and took their chances. I felt that at 2-0, JS had given the game up and wasn’t going to risk Madsen for a lost cause. At 1-0 it may have been different with subs. We dud keep trying , albeit ineffectively. We are top 10 have some good players coming through. Well ahead of a lot of pre-season predictions. Unlike some posters today I do not think we are suddenly a 16th place team any more than I thought we were a top six team with our injury prone squad. Frustrating but not calamitous .. | | | |

| Rampant R's to Brum Rush The Show Match Thread on 19:38 - Oct 17 with 2154 views | ManinBlack | The disappointing aspect was an old failing of last season returned today conceding just after half time which we did a lot of last season. It seemed to settle the contest today and we appeared to accept it was game over from that point. I was expecting a bit more from us and being relatively in form despite the injuries. I hope it was a bad day in the office and not the start of a slump in form. After the next two tough matches we then have Burnley and Lincoln at home, perfectly winnable if we have some of the wounded back. | | | |

I have to get back to Peterborough so I was definitely on a different platform to most.I don’t know how they’re allowed to keep all those diesel engines switched on and running when we’re in an enclosed space?I’d hate to have to use New St regularly. Just one of those days for the team today, and we move on to Swansea next Saturday.

| Rampant R's to Brum Rush The Show Match Thread on 17:25 - Oct 17 by OldPedro | Disappointing performance. Brum the better side but didn't create much really - we wouldn't have scored either of the 1st two goals because they would have been free kicks for fouls on Kolli and Kamara. Ref gave a couple of soft free kicks to Roberts for similar contact as on Kolli and Kamara. Brum centreback should have got a red - how is that tackle only a yellow when Cirkins was a red? |
Kamara got knocked off the ball more today than for all previous games combined. Re the last bit. My 1st viewing it could have been a red. On 2nd views, he kept his leg down. It was a thickish yellow, but ref got it right. Brum fans were incensed that Dunne had the temerity to get hurt.

Brum were very good i thought and will defo be in the mix for promotion based on that performance. Strong, sharp passing with intent. They attacked down our right side because that was obviously our weaker side, with Poku and Adamson. Kept pulling our players out of position, Dunne got caught a couple of times. That first goal was on Kolli , who is struggling with form and confidence. We were tired, not as strong and a bad day at the office overall. Still early in the season, injuries have already started to pile up. Tough season ahead. I still think we have a good team, and we'll be in the playoffs. There.. i said it.

| Rampant R's to Brum Rush The Show Match Thread on 21:26 - Oct 17 with 1546 views | Geoff78 | Didn't see the game but caught a bit of intermittent commentary while driving. The stats (I know) suggest it was fairly even. According to the BBC Charles only made 2 saves from their 11 shots. Their keeper made 4 saves from our 12 shots. Suggests their finishing was more clinical. Our chance conversion hasn't been great all season. And we only won 36% of our tackles. But plenty of excuses for a poor performance. Just hope enough of the wounded can play next Saturday. | | | |

Not for me. Had a nice turn and run to play in Kolli in the first half but he was downright lazy for much of the game. Adamson has been surprisingly good but he’s a young, green player and sometimes when you’re under the cosh the wingers have to tuck in more than he did today. One absolutely pathetic offside when we were under pressure and punted it forward while he trotted back and hadn’t even made it to the halfway line from our set piece well before. There’s undoubtedly a player there but we aren’t seeing it nearly enough for me. I expect him to offer a lot more going forwards than Smyth on the other side and they both did very little. Saying that, the game was really lost in midfield. Edwards too deep (if he was in the midfield at all), Vale and Kamara too weak.

I actually think Obikwu may be another Taylor Richards (i.e. has personal 'issues') but that's just a hunch. Also, Kolli is rubbish IMHO. 3 games now and not come close to scoring. Also far too lazy. Hopefully that debate is soon put to bed and he's back on the bench or out of the squad completely when Burell is back. Anyway, a heavy defeat was always going to come at some point. Roll on Swansea after a 7 day break.

| Rampant R's to Brum Rush The Show Match Thread on 08:05 - Oct 18 with 672 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | If someone had told me it wouldn't be until mid-October, before we got a first thumping, I'd have bitten their hand off. It was a really bad day at the office, and we should all be pretty relaxed as it happens. We desperately need Burrell and Kone to be back firing as we are toothless up top. I like Lloyd, but he is an impact sub at best. As for Kolli..... not a Championship level.player and cost us the game. This result might not be a bad thing. Helps the players reset and shows what happens when standards drop. | |

I don’t think he’s lazy. I don’t think he’s as good as some of the kids do but not for lack of effort. You play a 5-4-1 against that defence and play the way we did then he’s not going to get much out of them, three games in eight days after not playing or not. The availability is obviously the main issue as he probably doesn’t start that game after two starts if any of Burrell, Kone or Lloyd are fit but with the team available it was just far too lightweight to ever truly get a grip of the game and give him the opportunities to show what he can do. Sometimes tries too hard to do something when the simple option is on.
