Oh how people laughed at his mad antics.

Triple fist pumps and corner flag waving after stodgy victories brought smiles and much mirth.

Yep…. He’s pacey. Very quick across the ground but quicker to multiple yellow cards.

I’m done with him.
He’s an absolute liability and has sawdust for brain cells with ball never knowingly under his control.
The first goal this evening totally on him and yet again his overall game had me on the edge of my seat as he’s like a chain smoker in a fireworks factory.

Such a shame that the best QPR defender I’ve seen in recent years was on the bench tonight. Sadly it wasn’t our bench and that’s a scandal

He picked the team most of us wanted, with Mbenge in it.

The manager says the problem has been the lack of intensity. He's right. He has to take part of the blame but the players really have to shoulder most of it. After we went 2 down we woke up. It was too late but we saw what we should have seen for the previous 70 plus minutes.

That horrible lack of consistency and fairly feeble mentality still haunts us every season.

Never knowingly right.

Any sign of the lesser spotted JCS? He would be an improvement - if he wasn't made of glass. Let's all pray for him🙏

Don't agree....he has had two average to poor games on the trot but based on everything up until then, i like him a lot.

He’s alright and still learning at this level.

Also tries to get forward more than Varane.

All passes are powered at around 60% power irespective of distance. All passes are played to the middle of the receiving players feet.

He can't remember which player plays with left/right foot, someone need to get some bloody flashcards for him like you do with the 5yr olds in school.

Him and Burrell the 2 most exciting players we have though.

Question should be what the hell has happened to Saito? Like a completely different player, he's stopped attacking the edge of the 6 yrd box which tended to bring a lot of results.

He is the Centre back re-incarnation of the mentalists that were Mbia & Diakite & no good will ever come of it...

Ever.

Rapid as f**k, thick as a whale sandwich & a liability every challenge he makes.

'Question should be what the hell has happened to Saito?' The answer is he has reverted back to the player we should never pay £5m - or whatever the 'undisclosed' amount was - for and never would have if we hadn't been hockyed by Coventry. Ditto Hayden. Both cynical sops to the pitchfork wielding fanbase. RND , who went completely under the radar, is the only one of the last minute trolley dash that has actually improved the team. All our efforts, ALL our efforts, should have been focused on bringing back Edwards, either on loan or permanently.

Did you actually watch the game??? I mean did you witness Varane, hiding in plain sight, always, like literally all the time..? Like there was a game going on and every time a defender tried to look for a pass, our resident Mick Hucknall hid from everything? "Pleasure at the fairground" etc etc... a total waste of space. If your center half has the audacity to try amd instigate aometjk other than passing it sideways and backwards, then at least try, just attempt, even a little bit, to cover them? I mean, at least attempt something surely....baller indeed

I watched it and specifically a few players as knew this would be a stern test

You clearly saw it differently; which is fine.

Maybe watch it back and look at Varanne and Mbenge closely then report back

I don't think any of our players were 'the problem' today. Individual errors cost us, we're best on the counter, and giving the opposition cheap ways to take the lead and then sit back and break on us is costing us...that's the position we need to be in.
I thought Varane was OK today, but his assist and the one he put on Kone's head at Derby show he had got vision, and I'd really like to see more of that side of his play.
Morgan's last 2 cameos have seen him moving the ball quickly, upping the tempo and switching play nicely. Time for him to come back in, I think.

Thought Mbengue was fine last night but had one unfortunate error that led to the goal (which he still nearly managed to block).

Upvote for Morgan too who played positively when he came on.

To be honest a draw last night would have perfectly fair in a game between two mediocre teams.

At this current time with the squad that we have, Mbengue should start every match.

He wasn't 'great' last night but he had a decent game but he has pace, strength & character.

Agree. But couldn’t help think what the reaction would have been if Cook had made the error that Mbengue did and it led to a goal…

Don't disagree but that unfortunate error has been coming for a while now. I counted at least three almost identical scenarios at Derby which he / we got away with. His first touch / the ball bouncing off of him malarkey appears to be a major issue to me.

I struggle to apportion any blame to Mbengue for the first goal. He was completely wrong footed after the ball bounced off Robinson.

Looking at where that incident happened we still should not be conceding, yet again it's a poor team error.

When Robinson strikes the ball goalwards he is literally surrounded by four QPR players only one of which is 'busting a gut' to prevent the goal, Mbengue.

We have a lot bigger issues than Mbengue. Goalie, the manager, right back, the position just behind the striker, set pieces……to name but a few

Funny, Southampton fan work colleague said the exact opposite. He thought Mbengue was by far our best player, bar the goal, and also rated Saito.

Thought our goalie was shocking, and his comment about Dunne 'who was that absolute lump at RB' while laughing. He couldn't believe some QPR fans thought he was any good.
Also thought Southampton were lucky.

I thought he was okay. It was very poor defending for the goal but players make mistakes. We still had plenty of time left to get back into the game.

I actually find the second goal worse from a defensive perspective. Bloody tackle them before they get in shooting range! Yes, the referee would no doubt have given a free kick as he seemed to think it was a non-contact sport but ffs don't just let them walk through like that!
