If I was in charge of transfers these would be my "rules of thumb"

1. Never sign defensive players from relegated teams it never ends well, and those teams were relegated for a reason
2. Players over 30, If pace or stamina were a key part of their game avoid, they will be in decline. Buy leaders and players who never had pace in the first place
3. Beware senior players taking a step down what is their motivation
4. A player on a Bosman who ran his contract down to get a move with a big sell on will do the same to you. Money is their only motivation
5. Never buy someone on a 6 month stellar spell especially strikers 2 or 3 seasons consistent at a lower level will be a better marker than a 20 goal six month spell
6. If buying a player who does not speak English, you need to buy them a friend who speaks their language and English

I find it hard to believe we're in for Georgie Earthy. We do not need another player like him, and particularly when we're desperate for a keeper, fullbacks and a CM or two.

Young player of the season at Bristol City, on loan. Yes, get him in.

Never knowingly right.

If Hull do get promoted they may well jettison Liam Millar. If so we should really go in for him. He reminds me so much of Luke Freeman and I've always thought he's an ideal left sided QPR player.

Never knowingly right.

Not the 2025/26 season version. He barely played for Bristol City when loaned to them in January. About 270 minutes played!

We've got enough of those players already that either flatter to deceive and/or simply not good enough.

21yo, 50+ apps, nearly all for Bristol C. Sounds very much like a player who fits the model.

I've liked Brannagan for a few years now, but after checking his stats this season, I think he's in decline and shouldn't be on our radar.

He was very good when he played at Loftus Road for Bristol City towards the end of the 24/25 season, think he scored for them if I recall correctly.

I typed QPR into their search bar and according to them, in the past 24 months, we sold Charlie Kelman to Southampton, bought Malik Mothersille from Peterborough, bought Josh Coburn from Boro, sold Jake Clarke-Salter to Coventry, signed some American striker from Orlando City, signed Fin Stevens from Brentford, signed Jude Arthurs from Bromley and signed Max Dean from MK Dons

What I am saying is that they make things up

I’d have thought West Ham will need players with championship experience next season

captains fantastic

Well, it is a thread for rumours.

I reckon if you run the rule over last year's, at least 90% didn't happen and the ones that did were only just before the official announcement.

That's another one that is barely credible.
He's 28, never played higher than L1, for a position where we are reasonably well stocked.

We do know we are going to lose Nardi, Hamer, Cook, Hayden. RND's loan has ended. We still have Hevertton, Celar and Dixon-Bonner on the books. And, if anybody knows what we do with Sam Field, they aren't saying. All before we consider any bids for the players we want to keep.

So plenty of departures likely.
Incoming, I struggle to see beyond a keeper, 2 full backs and a defensive/box-to-box midfielder.

If George Earthy was a great player for Brizzle and they wanted him, then he would sign for them as he knows the club and did well there.

If they don't want him, then we should read something into that.

zzzzzzzzzz

With a name like that you'd presume he'd be quite a grounded individual, with strong roots in London potentially.

Begs the question will he really be looking to tear up trees in the Championship as we'd hope? Would this be contrary to his nature?

It is also well documented that monocultures are pretty terrible for both the environment and for football clubs. We have Sam Field, but do we also want a field full of small no. 10s? Ballers as far as the eye can see?

Could take him a while to bed down too. Might be what the grass was crying out for last season though.

Nothing to do with us signing anyone, but Anthony Gordon signing for Barcelona for £70m.
Seems like only 4 years ago that he was facing us for Preston. I think it may have been his birthday if I recall.

And since when did the Nou Camp become Camp Nou? Rubbish.

6 league goals and 2 assists last season. I honestly don't get how people see him as anything but a mid-level premiership player.

Nou Camp is Spanish.
Camp Nou is Catalan (not Basque!).

Barcelona is in the Catalan (not Basque!) region, so it's us that have been misnaming it thus far.
