Are we really that bothered by our kit these days.. ?

With respect ND, I think you’ve called that wrong. In fact it is more the opposite.

The (relatively) recent preponderance of pink kits and the like in sport is more a city boy / alpha male schtick.

I think there have been a lot of RU pastel-coloured kits.

I bow to your superior knowledge on this Eastside.

Clearly kits are produced to be sold and in all reality, yes this kit will potentially be bought much more by our younger fans.

To me though its a dreadfully dull kit. The colours are so light you can hardly see them, but we have three very different kits for a reason now.

So we maximise sales.

So do understand but I can't say I like it at all. For me its horrendously bland and suggests that the team wearing them will be a "please sir, after you" kind of mentality.

Weakness personified.

And before Padula has another pop, its just my opinion sir.

Are non football people now the final decision makers on the kits submitted?

I just keep getting a ‘they don’t get it’ vibe on too many things yet keep getting told they do.

Obsessed with earning a few extra pennys, 50p on a cup of tea, season tickets etc yet throwing money at anything first team related that could be managed with a lot more diligence.

It's a vibe I get a lot from dealing with and supporting QPR these days. Either they don't get it, or I don't.

Of course, it's a part of our identity, our culture. Players and fans wearing the same shirts, colours.

I understand that there has to be different shirts every year to drive shirt sales but sitting in an away end before kick off loathing the shirt is not a good start.

There is losing and then there is losing in pink.

You see so many brilliant shirts that fans create that it makes sense to me that fans should be involved in the process. If you want to sell a stack of shirts then give the fans what they want.

Horrible kit and a sponsor with a clip-art logo designed by a village idiot. Once again someone has managed to make the club look more silly than it needs to.

Why would I have a pop at this? You’re expressing your opinion here without using outdated sexual stereotypes.

I wasn’t annoyed that you don’t like the kit. I was annoyed at your suggestion that a particular wavelength of light is suited for gay people. Amazed I need to explain that.

Liverpool played in red shirts and white shorts until someone realised that all red portrayed more strength. Kit matters.
We always put winning football matches last.
We dressed as w4nkers in pink, now we are w4nkers in lilac.
Here come QPR, an easy home win.

Exactly. These insipid pastel shirts worn at away fixtures seem to send a subliminal message to the opposition, please Rodger me up the arse.

Whenever I switch on the tv and see a team in one of these shirts they invariably spend the game in a submissive position on the edge of their own 18 yard box.

Has any team won anything of substance playing in anything pastel?

The hoops playing kit should be in a varied range of 100% solid colours, by all means come up with less vivid variants for casual wear, but not on the pitch please.

Could you point me in the direction of a single club that wears blue and white hoops that has won a major trophy? Shall we get rid of those too?

I don’t mind the away kit…

My main issue is the blue. I think a darker colour would compliment the pastel tone. Perhaps a navy blue or just have the shorts the same colour and the blue as the colour pop.

Anyway, the home kit is the most important one to get right. If it was up to me, I’d rotate the away kit between green/white, Dennis the menace and Feyenoord and save the third kit for a fashion/experimental design.

I think that would help reinforce club identity whilst leaving room some more contemporary designs.

7 promotions, 4 cup finals, 1 league title (before extra time), is that enough for you?

By the way, don’t recall any pastel colours involved in any of them.

Anyone else getting a periwinkle vibe?

Edit: Just been browsing the Farrow & Ball 2026 colour chart (it’s the sort of thing I do of a Sunday morning). Getting hints of ‘Kakalugn’ too.

So, ‘Julien Stéphan’s Periwinkle and Kakalugn Army’ it is then. Got a sort of ring to it, don’t you think?

I’m more put out by the price at £59.99 for something that probably cost no more than £5 to make. Don’t know why they don’t price them at no more than £39.99. Surely they’d sell more….

Short answer, they wouldn’t sell 60% more at the lower price.

Pricing is never linear and I’m sure Errea utilise market pricing surveys and Nielsen data to find the ‘sweet spot’ of price-volume.

It’s also possible their Italian factory (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) only has limited capacity for a club the size of QPR so they only want to produce say 20k shirts rather than 40k.

The kit's aren't great... but I can't blame Nourry for that!

The release not to my taste, but good to do something a bit different. Both online now anyway and in full technicolor

Was going to be clever and mention our 1967 League Cup victory. But then remembered we wore all white.

The away kit looks washed out, maybe it looks better in person.

Home kit not a massive fan but it's ok.

The worst thing about both kits is the sponsor on the front - looks horrendous and would ruin any shirt.

Once again to much white at the top , don't like the yellow piping , the blue looks to light, all in all poor. Hopefully we will get a decent 3rd kit like last season.

I initially hated the away kit but it’s actually not bad. I like the blue and white trim.

I personally hate both.

The colour schemes are disgusting... whoever designed both deserves to be fired.
.
The home one looks like they've got Bibs on.

The away is aesthetically displaced and looks something Picasso would paint in his toilet.

The sponsor sucks, not just because of the company but the font is rubbish.

Why can't people just have a good design aesthetic, realise a font like that just don't work on a shirt.

Like last season, the away kit is not great. Lilac is a very weak colour. I'd like the away kit to be something + black hoops, and black shorts and socks. Doesn't always have to be the red Dennis kit. We've had a light blue and black in the past, even last years pink would have been good with black hoops. This lilac one would also have worked. But ALL lilac? Not for me.

The amber trim on the home kit is a bit different but I quite like it.

But far more than the colours, what I absolutely detest is the MrQ sponsor. I didn't like Copybet at all, but this is worse. So cheap and tacky.
