I was lucky enough to be given a load of old QPR footage from QPR fan Rik Anstee so am slowly putting it all online, a lot of games that I don't think have been seen before likes of South Shields, several games against Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd from the 70's, a 6-1 cup win over West Ham.
I'll keep them all on the same thread but going to be putting up one a day over the next few weeks.
First one is from 1968, our second ever win in the top flight against Sheffield Wednesday

Anyone ever seen themselves on the tv at games? I spotted myself a few times, remember going into school after THE Norwich match and a number of classmates had noticed me. Sadly, when I did ask for cctv footage of an alleged incident, the Metropolitan Police couldn't find it.

I didn't see it as I refused to look at any of the "highlights", but my wife assured me that the cameras showed my son & myself as two of the very few Rangers fans still in the ground at Southend!
What a lovely Friday night that was!

Not on TV but I did once feature in a crowd scene on the front page of the Croydon Advertiser when a bus hit the railway bridge at Norwood Junction station in the early 80’s.
A work colleague and I had been enjoying a meal in a nearby curry house and had popped out to see what all the excitement was about. The picture itself was quite dramatic although you would have needed a strong magnifying glass to identify us.
Even more dramatic was the time I acted, unwittingly to be clear, as the getaway driver for three armed robbers in Islington. Armed with sawn-off shotguns, they had just extracted the evening’s takings from a restaurant in Theberton Street, hailing me on Upper Street, with instructions to head in the general direction of King’s Cross.
The incident, headlined ‘Theberton Street Gunmen in Taxi Getaway’, provided the Islington Gazette with their lead story that week, although I wasn’t mentioned by name (thankfully) nor did my picture appear.

Sadly a West ham supporting mate just passed away. Took a picture of us at Upton park off of the highlights in 1975 FA cup game as 13 yr olds. Sent it to a friend of us both. We were right at the front and I had my blue and white scarf draped over the advertisement hoarding.
When we scored apparently I said ‘I wonder who we will get in the next round’

Different Southend game, but I'd like to see the FA Cup game at Roots Hall in 1975, even if just to see our support, which was 'uge.

I was on YouTube after my verbal assault on Gareth Bale, the vid got pulled by the FA about 6.00pm that Saturday night thankfully.
One of our quantity surveyor's who was back In Ireland at the time sent me an e-mail of the Irish Times on the Sunday morning with an almost full back page picture of me giving abuse to Gareth Bale.
My phone was beeping relentlessly Sunday morning, all week at work I was getting e-mails, I had to attend a meeting with one of our clients and the guy was at the game as he was a Spurs ST holder, he was actually brilliant about It.
By mid-day Sunday morning my Missus said to me, ''What have you done at football, have you been arrested''?
Oh dear.
My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Good game, but it was the Coventry match before that one that was the blinder. We won (in the FA Cup), 3-2 with a Stan goal in the last minute after being behind twice.
Got a bit discombobulated watching the Wednesday highlights because the players’ shadows all seemed to be falling in the wrong direction (east to west as opposed to west to east).
Starting coming up with conspiracy theories that the whole game, like the moon landings according to some, must have been faked. Either that or the game kicked off at 8am.
Took ages for it to dawn on me that the camera POV was South Africa Road, not Ellerslie Road (where the TV cameras are situated today).
Definitely. The ref also tried to allow an equaliser at the end of the match when Webb was assaulted. Thankfully, the linesman objected & flagged for offside.

I went to a game at LR in the late 79s against Bolton, we lost 1-3 but, Frank Worthington scored the most marvellous of goals, I have never seen the footage of the game.

Was probably sitting on the concrete plymth of the floodlight on the corner of the SE and the SAR stand. Great memories.
The game I missed as me and my family were on holiday in Malta in September 1979 was the Fulham 3-0 home game when Toby Currie scored a screamer on his debut. Have never seen those goals.
The raw, icy pain of that last minute equaliser plunges into my 10-year-old heart anew. THANKS DAVE.

It was indeed. A long cold winter in every way. I recall it meant we had about 8 away games in a row at one point in Feb/Mar, due to the weather. Lost the lot of course, apart from a fine out-of-nowhere win at Stamford Bridge.
