Seems we’ve replaced London Calling with this. I couldn’t hear it much from the Lower School End over the boos it got.
I like the idea of something unique by a QPR fan but it sounds like someone used AI with the prompt “north london forever but make it west London and much worse”.

Listen I'm not there to jude what people think of this as I live in New Zealand and can appreciate change is never fully welcomed. Especially as the music that always played lays foundations for decades. So it is hard to push new music on mainstay fans.
But I make music as a hobby/get paid a bit to reinvest into the studio, and I'd like to take a moment of how much that would of meant to those who made it and to be absolutely crushed by it's reception breaks my heart.
I also appreciate most here acknowledge that the club needs to make sure it brunts most of this vitriol that it's getting. Those fellas don't deserve it.

Yeah I agree. Keep the song as a pre game song at about 2.40pm. it's certainly shouldn't be a club them. Ian Gillan a fan? Are we sure about that? And Andrew Ridgeley isn't a fan he borrowed the top from a cameraman on tour I read.

The new 'anthem' is essentially an updated version of this let's be honest!
Our club songs aren't overly unique at the moment. Pigbag is used by Boro, London Calling by every single other London side as well. However I do like the idea of the 3-4 songs before Kick Off being QPR/West London songs. So Libertines, Clash are obvious... Bastille actually support QPR so don't really mind that, Sex Pistols, The Cure... it can be done. Then play the poem, then let the lads walk out to Pigbag

Clearly QPR have fundamentally misunderstood how this works. An anthem is adopted by the fans, not heaped upon them by a committee.

The Supporters Advisory Board have been told by the club it won't be played tomorrow. That's the right decision in my view.
I don't think the club comes out of this very well. They have thrust these lads in to the cauldron of social media, and this is now the perhaps predictable result.

Sorry but you can’t be putting something out in public and then complain about hurt feelings & mental health when people don’t like it. Joe Public isn’t there to massage egos, if you’re willing to take the exposure you have to have a thick skin if it doesn’t go as planned. The reaction was predictable. It’s a sh*t situation for them & doesn’t excuse nastiness but they should’ve been prepared for this.

Are they that desperate to create social media clips? Ooh look, we have an anthem too! It's the antithesis of authentic.
Huge mistake by the club and they really need to come out and make a statement about it, accepting their responsibility and taking the heat off the guys involved.

With so much to smile about so far, it is a shame that a song should cause an issue. My first thought was for the person(s) who wrote it and did so because QPR is their team. It is sad to see their efforts get trashed in an unforgiving way. I also get why it has provoked angst, the songs are part of the ritual and connection and messing around with ritual without some form of conversation beforehand seems crazy. Ironically all the in-house interviews continually make reference to the connection with the fans! Personally, whilst not a fan of the song , as others have suggested, I hope it is retained and used in some form or other during the pre-match music programme. However, my main interest is whether we are witnessing the start of something special in the way the team play and what they might achieve. Some of the football has been wonderful to watch. Personally, I can live with changes to music, if we can maintain what is happening on the pitch.

Not the first time the ‘authentic football experience’ has been part of our unique selling point.
When we were relegated to League 1, ‘Real Football, Real Fans’ was the slogan considered most likely to flatter the support base and make us feel slightly better about ourselves.

And thats how things start changing, start forcing things like this on people, say it's just a song, say that young people like it. Then we start wearing the away kit at home.
What next? Doing away with tradition will not go down well with this fanbase, but feels like its co-ordinated as this regime have targeted young people with their online presence specifically.
It all starts somewhere and I don't like it.

I always think of you try and manufacture this stuff and force it then you get what you got last night, and look before you all go in on it I know one of the lads who worked on it personally and he’s a top lad, lifelong QPR from a QPR family, and will no doubt be a bit gutted this morning so… be nice.
We’ve got a great music heritage at QPR and a lot of the songs we use have grown organically through that, or were sung at away games etc. we ran out to bloody Fix You by Coldplay at one stage so we shouldn’t be too precious, but even that had a story behind it with Warnock and the YouTube montage etc.
Unfortunately tradition and fan consultation are not a priority for this regime and so you end up with stuff like this happening.
I feel sorry for the lads involved so please do be kind.

ive seen that and cant imagine the boys involved are to happy with that being posted out either , think clive said he knows them and they are decent lads as well having ur mum fight ur battles wont go down well for them im affraid the comment about the producer also works with stormzy wasnt a great idea either , its done now anyway , when you think the clubs doing ok they try something like and its ten steps back again. do feel sorry for the kids involved hopefully they have thick skin in the coming weeks
We should bring back the anthem by the Loftus Road Runners that we had in the 70s and 80s. I mean if Charlton can have when the bloody red red robbin comes bob bob bobbing along, and not mind it, we can have Rangers, Queen's Park Rangers, can't we?

Feel for the lads but they were hung out to dry by the club. Should have been brought to the supporters board BEFORE the 1st play. Then played well before the walk outs, HT, earlier pre-match etc. They were in a lose/lose. Awful time for the 1st play, no support before the 1st play - maybe the fans forum would have been a better time to raise this! Supporters spoke with their voices, keyboards and everything else - don't agree with the abuse they got at all, personal preference, was rubbish. Move on, win tomorrow and go top :-)

As I said on the first page - the club need to own this, explain where it went wrong, and do something for the blokes that wrote it.

F uck me, imagine any of us in this position. Doing something for the club you love, putting the effort in to get it out there and your own club's fans not only turn on you but lay into you with such f ucking vitriol.
The virtues of the song are neither here nor there to me. Rangers have tried many times down the years to start up a club song and not one has taken off.
They are probably feeling like absolute shit right now. I hope they get past it and still love the R's.
