Why do people keep saying “but Kolli did not get the same opportunities others did”? Clearly JS has explained that: he is not training hard enough. He literally said “why do you think I gave 17 year old Scarlett a chance? He showed in training he deserved it”. |
And on that very point I don’t think you can fake the emotion that JS exuded when he was talking about the ability of the group of players involved in the away draw at West Brom. That is the most honest and emotional I have seen him. We complain about being 15th max year on year and then when someone seems prepared to do something about it some start saying ‘oh but he is a clinical finisher, oh, he is only 21, oh, there must be a conspiracy against him’.
Too many managers have failed to put him regularly into the team at the start of season for it to be a personality clash. If Alfie Lloyd is getting in the team ahead of him, there has to be a legit reason otherwise why would the manager bite his nose off to spite his face.

not sure that both cant play either . kolli will never in his lifetime be a lone striker up front we tried it a few times when injuries hit it was horrible to watch norwich away being very panful to watch and i belive he ws hooked at half time in that game , hes a ten at best but thats only if he can track a player and win the odd ball back , anyway thats me done with the kolli story until jan when the transfer window opens again and off we go again | |

Good grief I'm so bored of the whole Kolli thing.
There might be another side to the story from his part, but at the end of the day if he was really that brilliant and putting in the effort every day, then he'd been starting every match.
But he isn't. So he isn't.

It doesn’t.
Clearly, and evidentially, he DID work hard as otherwise he wouldn’t have been picked at all.
But he certainly did not get the same opportunities as afforded to Kone. |
Last season we were down to bare essentials with Kone being the only fit striker at ine stage and Kolli pretty much the last option. We’ve even tried Smyth and Dembele as strikers in the past and that wasn’t a success. So I think it was a temporary emergency solution. |  | | |

It's unnecessary for fans to know all the detail or Kolli's side of the story. If there was a legitimate grievance, then there is employment law for him to leverage.
The message that was put forward by the club is that the team is more important than the individual. Full commitment to the team success (even if not playing on the pitch) is non-negotiable. Music to most ears. For Kolli fans, let's hope he can take this onboard.

For the club and fans, the team is more important than the individual. But, does that mean the individual must make any sacrifice required for the sake of the team? Or, put another way, would you do anything you were told by your employer to benefit the business and put your own career to one side?
Of course, commitment is needed but you are on very dangerous ground if you think that must be blind commitment. That is how you can come to the conclusion that it's unnecessary to know both sides of a dispute in order to make an assessment. |  | | |

I agree it sounds a bit of double standards and strange that an unfit Kone was given a starting place when clearly unfit.
Kolli is not helping himself or his career with his attitude if he thinks he is owed a starting place or not interested in a short term loan deal. 3 months in L1 would get him fit and ready to compete for a starting place.
Ha being says that, I still think a place on the bench should be available, especially if decent forward options are scarce. Work rate and a good attitude don’t necessarily equal goals scored. |
A place on the bench is earned. All 3 spent a lot of time explaining that.
It’s not double standards if the core problem is attitude. Kone did the hard yards last season and the hierarchy feel he is engaged to get back to his best.
When Kolli deserves a place on the bench then he will get one. | |

Having watched Alfie Lloyd play a couple of times for Eastleigh and then just seeing how happy he is every time he’s interviewed, I really liked hearing what Jimmy Dunne said about him. I got impression before that Alfie wasn’t really in their plans but it sounds like he came back with such a fantastic attitude that they couldn’t ignore him. Can’t remember exact words but basically would doing anything and everything to get a chance to be in that squad. Sounds like the same with Adamson. Exactly the type of players we want for a long season. The belittling of Lloyds ability by some is ridiculous and very unfair. The lad does have talent. He needs to improve some areas but you can be sure he will bust a gut to do that. |
I think with Lloyd you really have to remember that his background is at a way lower level than everyone else's. He's not been training since he was 7 in a high-level academy set-up. All his development is happening late, but he works hard and has visibly improved this season compared to the past. No different than Smythy really, who was playing at no real level before he joined us and has gotten better as he's spent more time with better coaching than he ever had as a kid. |  | | |

Very much how I see it re Kolli.
The transparency was appreciated re Kone, he had a disrupted pre season but was clearly miles off it compared to everyone else when he did play. I'd like to know if he did come back in poor condition, why he was still given the opportunities to play in friendlies and competitive games that Kolli wasn't, and hasn't been made to build up his match fitness away from the 1st Team/with the Development Squad. Feels like there's some double standards at play there. |
Yep, they could have done a kop out on Kone and said something like "He's only played one season in the Champ and is still adjusting to the demands of this league"

It’s not really much of a stretch to see that Stephan was talking about Kolli largely. Because he actually said last season that he knew what he needed to do in training if he wanted to be picked on Saturdays. It just seems like he hasn’t listened and he hasn’t learned.
People are comparing Kone and Kolli but really it’s different scenarios whether Kone came back unfit or injured himself in pre-season. Kone has played for a number of seasons week in week out in non-League and League One men’s football. Kolli has largely played DS football. Kone carried the line pretty much single handed for weeks last season. Kolli came on for some excellent sub appearances and a few more disappointing starts. He showed he’s got some holes in his game that need addressing. So has Kone but if he’s working hard in training to address them and Kolli isn’t then it won’t be viewed in the same way. Kolli’s gaps for me affect the whole team in terms of not pressing /defending well and not passing when that would the better option. Kone’s are less disadvantageous to the team: he works really hard in pressing and defends in our box well in corners and set pieces. He’s also very generous in passing to teammates when in better positions unlike Kolli who’s the opposite which again affects the whole team not just his own performance.
In short Kone’s going to get more of a free pass than Kolli and quite rightly so. They must be tearing their hair out if they’re doing their best to get a good loan for him to get some consistent first team football and he refuses to go out on loan even for a few months. It shows an extreme level of arrogance at his stage of his career. Even Sam Field went out on loan to get time on the pitch and he’s got a lot more of a proven record than Kolli.
Some players can muck about and get away with it because of their supreme talent and past record. Much less so if you’re just out of the DS or have holes in your game. There’s a reason Ravel Morrison, Lee Sharpe, Taylor Richards never reached their potential and it wasn’t lack of talent.
Looking at Alfie Lloyd v Kolli is also a big difference. Alfie doesn’t have the same raw technique undoubtedly. But he’s got a great attitude and works really hard on the pitch whether it’s five minutes for Lincoln or a whole match for QPR. He is humble enough to pass when it’s the better option. If he starts you know he’ll work hard to win the ball back.
Years ago I knew someone who was lucky enough to get in the DS. Nice lad but thought he had made it. Once told one of the first team to F Off. He thought it was funny but really it was always going to be bad news. He left the club and got a few gigs in lower leagues but always got moved on quickly: attitude.
If you’re Ronaldo you can get away with being an arse but even he worked really hard in training. It’s very sad and I think it’s all the people around him that are advising him badly but I don’t think it’ll happen for him at QPR. Todd Kane learnt that no one is bigger than the club and where is he now?
I still think he could pull it round if he started to work hard in training and listen to those with a lot more experience. Stephan is known to work with young talents so it’s a real opportunity for Kolli. I’m afraid though people around him have told him he can demand what he wants and that isn’t going to help him unfortunately. |

I have said before, the club cannot win even when they are being upfront and honest. I get some here dont trust CN, but to call out JS and JD is just wrong on many levels. Those two are clearly passionate about the club and certainly Jimmy would not sit in front of fans and lie to their faces

I'm a bit baffled that we've asked the club to be honest about Kolli and they have been as honest as they can without airing dirty laundry in public. Yet some on here are arguing that we're crazy to believe that story and instead that there's a grand conspiracy against him that involves not only Nourry but also Stephan and Jimmy Dunne.
It's more likely that a young player isn't doing what they need to be doing in training. Hopefully he'll turn it around and we'll see him bang in more goals for QPR.
Also was pleased to hear about Lloyd and Adamson - both have come back playing much better this season. I hope Lloyd can start finding the net, and I'm personally pleased that Adamson appears to have become a very serviceable fullback - very happy to eat some humble pie on that because I wrote him off. |
Well said. My take is that a few have taken Kolli’s side vs the club and are now so entrenched in that view that even when presented we details, which were given in a very fair way, now refuse to believe this or now suggest there is more to it. What I don’t understand is what sort of conspiracy they actually believe, surely the situation is perfectly clear now.
We need to move on, we all want Kolli to either do well for QPR and/or make us a profit, let’s hope he gets fully into training with a positive attitude and forces his way into the team or gets sold in January for a nice profit. |  | | |
