Wish he was still with us of course but I am not convinced he would have made a difference tonight. When this team are off it, they are really off it.

He wanted to play football. He wasn’t getting many minutes here, and even less in his man position. The club has effectively frozen him out. No wonder he wanted to go on loan to play.
As Simon or someone, be very wary binning off club stalwarts with 100s of games under their belt at this level, who are always fit, and available, and can handle the physical side of this league. You need them. New signings from abroad and the lower leagues can not just come in and “ball” from the moment they get here. They need that experience, nous, and physicality around them to give them the right environment to succeed.
With Cook leaving in the summer, Field (along with Dunne) would be one of the last people I’d consider letting go this summer. Sell Varane. Don’t extend Hayden (assuming he’s only on a one year deal), and sign someone to back up Madsen instead. |  | | |

The club and Nourry... well we assume it is Nourry.... seems to want to portray a ruthless streak... which is well and good, if it is successful... and not done to cut your nose off to spite your face
We have done this with Field and Nardi and in to an extent Kolli. The Walsh situation is farcical if it wasn't so serious... the pre season friendly against Castillion was enough for me to show he is not a very good keeper, but yet we still keep picking the lad, hanging him out to dry
Letting Field go to Norwich was just .... well in my mind crazy... a seasoned pro, never hardly injured, versatile and a decent holding midfielder... to a rival team... it is beyond belief....
OK he wanted more first team games, but every pro knows he is not automatically given starts, there are moments in your career when you are not utilised as much, but I'm guessing like Nardi he was perhaps overlooked. | | | |

Exactly this the only explanation I had for picking Varane in front of Field is that we want to sell him and he won't increase his transfer value sitting on the bench. He should be the first to be sold and we shouldn't be precious about how much we are prepared to accept for him, if we get a decent profit then just take it and move on. | | | |

I don't have statistics to hand, but we put in some great performances last season with a midfield of Varane-Field-Morgan, which looked balanced, hard-working and dominant. What happened? | | | |

We did and whilst we have all these injuries we should be definitely considering reverting to a 3 man midfield of Hayden, Varane and Morgan I would prefer Field but he's not an option, what Morgan adds is a player who can get forward and help the attack whilst doing his midfield duties. | | | |
