Just looked at the bookies list for next perm manager and it looks shocking

Tim Sherwood and Steve Clarke seem like the only ones near the top without too much previous baggage.

as i put on another post

I Just hope TF doesn't dive into this like he has the last 2 previous managers
i would like us to put the feelers out to Karl Robinson and see if he would come in either now or at the end of the season
its not about now its about the summer IMHO, we have half the big earners out of contract, 4 players who are on loans and then its whoever we sell
its a big rebuilding job needed whatever the division we are in ,
this next manager has a hell of a job on , we have to get this right and plan for the next 5 years

there are options out there we just need to take our time and get the right man
interview them , see what players they would bring in, what tactics they would use ,

Parkinson -Bradford
Hill-Rochdale
Ainsworth
Derry
Chris Powell - Huddersfield
Eddie Howe
Paul Clement

these are all worth approaching and interviewing

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

I'm not suggesting for a second that Sherwood is the best or only option but it does look to me as this may have been in the offing for some time.

Maybe, there has been more due diligence this time ? I don't think Les and Ramsey being employed already is a coincidence. I think Sherwood has been the plan for a while.

Personally, I think there are positives so why not.

West Ham have yet to offer Allardyce anything and he is out of contract in the summer.

Allardyce likely to renew given the season he's having. If he doesn't, he's not going to take a step down. Thankfully, horrible manager.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

I think the difficulty is that managing a club in the top 2 divisions is all about so much more than just the 1st team and coaching said squad.

That part is in a full time job on its own, yet most managers in this country want to do everything and greatly resent the Les Ferdinand position - if they embraced that, would make their lives so much easier.

Trouble with established managers - old school - if you like - is that conflict with LF will be there from day one.

Your list Paul, would certainly help in that respect, yes they would buy in to the whole club ethos, but I would worry about their ability to coach and motivate the £30,000 - £70,000 a week players - and like it or not that's what you need to be able to do - top half of Champs/Prem at least.

Indeed - same as Warnock & Harry in that his book of excuses is a very big one indeed!

They were outplayed at Liverpool, but no , that wasn't the reason they lost - it was because Andy Carroll got a knock and had to go off!

Detest him.

Nigel Clough for me is the only feasible manager with the required experience who might be interested in this job.
Builds good sides on very limited budgets so would be an end to all these ridiculous big time Charlies.
We might even get a cup run.

Obviously. And they mean that literally because they haven't actually checked yet who the most high profile one is, but that's the one they want.

I know almost nothing about the Premier League even though I try to catch the big games every now and then at the end of the season. But I will say this, Queens Park Rangers is just a fukking sick ass team name. Just sounds so cool.

if Les is going to stick around and be given time to do the job then anyone coming in should be told at interview this is how we are operating as a club
your job is to coach , manage the players help with recruitment etc
it works at Soton & Swansea
if they are not comfortable with that then see yer , doesn't matter if its ancelotti

Re your point about motivating players, we have a massive clearout looming this summer with a lot of players out of contract or loans going back to their clubs,
now is the time to be scouting the right players to take this club forward
the whole greed and easy going ethos needs to leave this club from today

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

We need to bear in mind that if we do make an appointment before the end of the season that it needs to be someone that specialises in coaching in addition to management. There's no window to affect change, it's about getting the maximum out of the current players. For that reason, and because he knows a lot of the team from previously working with them, I would want McClaren (if we were making an appointment tomorrow).

If not then I would much rather in this circumstance we put Les or Hoddle in charge until end of the season and then dependent on which league we will be in, post FFP fines, etc, make the right appointment for the long term with a clear strategy and plan in place.

We have fallen into the trap of going for 'named' managers - the old boys network. We should go for somebody fresh from Europe or South America who can get our players playing decent football.
