Hopefully will give some confidence to the entire defence.

I really hope he carries on like this. Not wanting to offend admirers of other keepers, but he's actually winning us points.

Somebody on here (sorry, can't remember who!) said he will be our most important signing since Austin. I can't disagree with that. Has a lot of talent, a fair amount of experience as is still only 25!

He has a calmness about him that all good keepers have. Surely that rubs off on those around him.

Top keeper, sadly some on here had him written off after the Nottingham Forest game believe it or not.

Absolutely fella, ab-so-bloody-lute-ly!

It also beg the question, if Green didn't have thes 30-game term in his contract, would he still be playing?

I suppose one other good thing to come out of this, so soon after the Sandro fiasco, is at last we seem to have a diary system in place and have acted when it triggered an alert!

Dead right John. Isn't it good to see some forward planning after the Sandro nonsense and going all the way back to Faurlingate.

Strong and stable my arse.

It struck me during the last couple of games that I feel very very comfortable now with balls being crossed into our box, or shots from outside the area, or corners. With RG there, it was more like blind panic, as you never knew when the next calamity was coming, only that it wouldn't be very far away.

The kid's alright. Must have benefited from being in training with his royal kingness.

Have to admit Bluce, I'm intrigued by how long you can keep this admittedly admirable loyalty up for!

I got to admit Smithies looks a good keeper, better than Green this season.

Fair enough Rich but let's not be bitter. Remember Green got right royally fcuked about by the club when we dropped him for some big name Brazilian who didn't turn out to be the greatest goalkeeper in the history of the world after all. Greeno didn't sulk, came back and did a pretty good job.

By the way, I think Smithies is the real deal

There are however 5 or 6 days a week when he isn't playing. It may be an idea to loan him out on those days to get more experience.

Never knowingly right.

As I believe one or two of us mentioned once or twice while Green was busy kicking Nottingham Forest players up in the air in the penalty area, punching the ball into his own net off advancing Hull players, allowing 35 yard daisy cutters to squeeze under him and into the net and so on.

Mind you, nailed on Smithies makes a big mistake this Saturday now
