I respect the french for sticking up for themselves whilst people are too afraid to do the same and when they do they get vilified. Anyone who in this day and age decides that industrial action is the only to go gets my support as its the last thing you want to do and you lose money.

Say what you like about the French, but if they aren't happy with their government, they down tools and make things difficult. Compare that the the Welsh / Brits, who go onto football forums and pontificate instead. Power to the People!

What's happening in France? on 18:03 - Dec 5 with 1054 views | longlostjack | There is a big difference in employment conditions in the private and public sector in France but pension provision in both I’d guess are better than in the UK. The health service is adequately funded too. I also like the new digital tax on turnover that they’ve introduced. There’s a lot to be learned from the way the French do things. They don’t have any Greggs though, so nothing for “man of the people” Boris. [Post edited 5 Dec 2019 18:05]

What's happening in France? on 19:10 - Dec 5 with 1006 views | PozuelosSideys | Backdating and reneging on agreements such as pensions are always unfair imo. Can completely understand it on new entrants and future particpants as its all one big ponzi scheme. Unaffordable with an ever increasing average age of population. Imagine being a train driver and having a pension where you get to retire at 50 tho. Wow.

You, sir, are a complete plonker. The French working class have got more balls than the British will ever have. They will not let right wing politicians take their rights from them without a hell of a battle. Contrast that with the British, or should I say English and Welsh, who are about to commit mass political suicide.

Solidarity a million %%%% with the French workers, don't take no sh1t, striking is a last resort, could teach workers in this country a thing or two, where workers bend over and just say yes boss. Come the revolution...........

Macron was a member of the Socialist party, joined at 24 so as he got older he apparently turned more right wing. Now the mass political suicide thing, what do you think is going to happen?

Your point about Macron is? So he sold out his principles. Are we supposed to applaud him for that? As for political suicide, what do YOU think I meant?

Most people tend to move left to right as they grow up and experience life. The young are the most idealistic people after all.

I've moved left to right as I've grown older. About 1 centimetre right. My old man, a Port Talbot steelworker, was a bit to the left of Mao Tse Tung and although he didn't try to influence me unduly, you can't help some of it rubbing off. I was on the streets of Port Talbot on Saturday mornings at age 15 selling Socialist Worker and getting my name taken by the local bobbie. Quite funny to reminisce. Now I'm a solid Labour supporter and think Corbyn and Momentum are bad for the Party and a disaster for the country, because it appears he is going to be the main factor in ushering in an obnoxious right wing government led by the biggest lying, cheating, self serving cretin ever to hold office. I'm so glad I now live in an EU country proud to be part of Europe and governed by social democrats. [Post edited 6 Dec 2019 14:01]

Left wing unions trying to run France not the democratically elected French government. It is what Corbyn and Macdonnell want to do in the UK.
