Anybody interested in the shootings in Kenosha involving Kyle Rittenhouse may find a timeline article in the New York Times interesting. It doesn't look as though many good guys were involved.

Perhaps they should stop the kneeling now. on 22:04 - Aug 27 by Professor

No. It is bleeding obvious to most. It is what I hear from my friends in the US. Both Black and White.

I'm not that bright but I can see that Trump is a massive part of the problem, massive while he's POTUS anyway.
However, the hijacking of BLM by Black Power is also troubling. Hijacking may be too strong, 'infiltration and use of' is a better way to put it.
I've said it before, we are not going to beat racism by causing morea arguments and more division.
Wherever we seperate groups out and give them preferential treatment it only causes more problems. We saw a rise in homophobia and transphobia when the LGBT+ movement was given special treatment, the perception that immigranst were getting better treatment than Uk citizens caused more xenophobia and racism. Positive discrimination is still discrimination and so it's not fair or right.
To me the only way forward is to accept that we are all human beings, all one race regardless of colour, creed or religion. As such we all deserve the same rights and the same level of treatment.
The one form of discrimination we need to all fight together is financial. Why do the rich and famous get better treatment? Why do they get given freebies to encourage us poor folk to buy that product? Most of the inequality we see everyday is caused by money, well the lack of it. I'll stop now or this will turn into a communist sounding rant!

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Trump deals in divisiveness.

Its the Mexicans, the blacks, the China virus, the EU, The WHO, the Islamic world...?

Its them vs us. And its total bollox.

This stuff in America does not just happen.
People are not born bad.
This is happening now due to Trump. Fact.

Except of course he is correct to say those things.
The Chinese & WHO he is correct about the Chinese over many things and both over the criminal handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Unless of course you mean that some EU countries are not pulling their weight over NATO, which of course is completely correct, but he did not say "the EU was to blame".
THe Mexicans are to blame for Illegally crossing the US border and trafficking drugs, people and kids.
The Blacks he has blamed for nothing.
Well what can one say about Islamist terrorism?
So please explain just where he is wrong not to tell his people about the USA's problems.

The A level fiasco speaks volumes.
Rigged to favour private education.

Equality has come a long way, but we all pneed to do more.

Financial inequality is very important.
London is the richest area in Western Europe, south west wales is the poorest.
Only 3 hours travel, but a million miles in terms of equality.

As Leanne Wood said, Wales has been a little too well behaved.
This is driven by political choice, nothing inevitable about it at all.

London has rich and poor, big empty houses and homelessness, so does SW Wales. You could go to Africa, India and China and find massive inequality closer together.

I had an uncle, an old racist who lived in Tedstonville, South Africa, he had black workers making a bus trip from their township to work in his house (for a pittance) Now his house was big and had all mod cons (apparently, I never went there) he had worked for an oil company and was well off. His black workers lived in a fairly near by shanty town (his own description) with genuine poverty of the kind that makes even the worst part of SW Wales look like the lap of luxury.

Also, I've put this link up before,

Somaybe you should be grateful for the poverty stricken lifestyle of SW Wales because it could be much worse.

So you see nothing wrong with Trump suggesting people should inject bleach to fight Covid-19?

Trump is an obvious narcissist, he ego driven and prone to shooting off at the mouth, he's not suitable for high office. Mind you very many politicians aren't these days.

Trump has gotten some things right but he is a very divisive character. One of his first actions was to make cust to 'Obamacare' taking affordable medical provision away from tens of thousands of Americans.

I have watched him on tv and cringed, he makes Bojo look good in some cases.

One thing you need to know. I am critical of practically every politician. I find it easy to slate all of them and rarely say anything good about them.

My overiding belief is that we have far too many politicians and as a result the world is being screwed over at an increasing rate of knots. The more politicians we have the quicker we accelerate towards oblivion.
It's partly why I voted to leave the EU and would reverse devolution. I am also all for making large cuts in Westminster and abolishing the HoL.

Wy is Trump a large part of the problem, well just for his handling of Covid-19 I could say. The USA has a smaller population than Europe. Worldwide there have been 838k deaths but the USA has nearly 190k all by itself. Of 25 million worldwide cases the USA has had 6 million cases, that's 25% and that's what we know of up til now. Trump called this situation a "Badge of Honor" which is a horrific way to talk about it. Trump continually lies,

I’ll have to go through this one by one so forgive the points.

1) Trump didn’t suggest people should inject bleach to fight Covid. I saw the whole press conference, in fact he made no such suggestion at all.

2) A man having an ego? You don’t become the President of the United States without having an ego. Obama is one of the biggest egos ever to grace the Oval Office to give one such recent example. Personally I don’t care how much of an ego you have if you are running the country well, which Trump is going (and I would be happy to expand on that if you like?).

3) Obamacare was one of the worst things to happen in modern American politics. You can’t even find a staunch Obama supporter than doesn’t claim otherwise. Trump didn’t take away healthcare, the affordable care act is still active, it just means there are no penalties or no mandatory payments that have to be made. In other words, he took what was wrong with Obamacare, and made it work.

4) You can’t look at a pandemic response until it’s over. It’s a global pandemic, it’s not going to go away just because you go inside. It will get you when you come out again, it’s delaying the inevitable and in that time the economy collapses which in turn takes and affects more lives. The perfect pandemic situation is the economy stays running while anyone who needs treatment can get it (I.e hospitals run under capacity). Those that appear worse hit at the star will probably be the first out of it and returning to normal.

I understand your criticisms of politicians, but much of this against Trump is leftist media driven nonsense from Democrats. They hate him with a passion, he embodies everything they despise. Strong confident and masculine man that does not bow to their commands and they cannot control, he is their kryptonite.

He didn’t say either.

He talked directly to the White House medical adviser where he was talking about the testing on what kills the virus. He said UV light and disinfectant had remarkable effect on killing it, and asked a direct question to the advisor saying “maybe that is something we can look at with regards to injection”.

Clearly he meant taking the properties of what is killing the virus in this substances and creating a safe vaccine. You are a sensible guy, you honestly don’t genuinely think he was telling Americans to grab some disinfectant and inject themselves do you?

It was awful and dangerous editing of his press conference, it’s a weekly occurrence.

As an aside, have you seen the way they report on the fantastic Kayleigh MacAneny?

They use the same tactics with her. She is probably the most skilled press secretary I can remember. So if they do that with her, imagine what they do with Trump.

Kayleigh is an incredible orator. Yet they take her news briefings (which I watch in full) and they come out with headlines, literally the opposite of what she said. It’s embarrassing.

It depends on your perspective, a Trump supporter may take your view. To myself he is clearly suggesting the possibility that injecting disinfectant could help and according to this story many Americans heard it that way too and phoned the helpline for advice,

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/0

His exact words were,

“One minute,” the president said. “And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that.”

That’s what I mean, the media narrative was horrific. It was dangerous and criminal what they did.

Many Americans may well have been confused, they didn’t show the fact he was speaking directly to the White House chief of medicine.

The New York Times is awful. The same publication that when Biden visited Mount Rushmore they said “Biden takes in the wonder of the breathtaking monument of our founding fathers”. When Trump visited it they said “Trump gives speech in front of monument of 2 slave owners on land wrestled away from indigenous people”.

They also twisted Keyleigh MacAneny’s words and said they wanted to send people back to school against what the science is saying... when she clearly said, the science is on our side here.

The media need an overhaul after this election. It is probably in its most corrupt and dishonest period in modern history. Never seen anything like it, don’t get me started on the riots... or “fiery but mostly peacefully protests” as they call it.

Do you know what Chlorine Dioxide is?
The research that President Trump referred to is this one.

Or how about Hydrogen Peroxide also used as a treatment in the link above.

The first one I have posted twice before, UV light to treat blood has been around 60 years and the latest research which he was also referring to was this which I have also posted twice before.

He didn’t say Europe, he said Western Europe. And we certainly were recently and may still be (based on GDP per person), alongside Portugal, one region in western Spain and Cornwall. It’s only these areas that qualified for Structural Funds from the EU due in the last funding round due to their GDP/head being in the lowest 20% for the EU.
