“Firebreak lockdown” a masterclass in incompetence. 23:33 - Oct 22 with 19934 viewsHighjack

Dr Drakeford and his cronies have really set the bar high on the incompetence stakes on this one.

They have announced tonight that retailers will only be allowed to sell “essential goods” during the 17 day lockdown but they are unable to say what counts as essential or non essential. At the time of writing this there is just over 18 hours to go until these rules come into force. The predictable result is that the entire population of Wales will rush out in the short time that is left and ravage the shelves of anything and everything that could potentially count as non essential. Meanwhile retailers are completely in the dark with just a few hours to go they are blissfully unaware of what they will or won’t be allowed to sell or whether they’ll be allowed to stay open at all.

Absolute idiocy from dippy Drakeford and this cabal of insidiously irrational imbeciles.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Behave will you ffs.

Yes, they walked so far into the store before being confronted and told to sling their hook.

Shame the security guards didn't take him out the back and give him a slap.

Silly arseholes the pair of them.

Don’t spread fake news then, ffs, you behave yourself

They do go away though, a new form appears the following year, and hopefully this is what will happen to covid19

The last thing we need is a new form of COVID that the vaccine won't work with properly.

Fake news?

No comment on what they were doing then? Just that i didn't type that they got a little bit into the store, before being stopped? Did it make a difference to the overall story?

Wow, well done, top observation skills anyway.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Liberties? Can't buy a pair of slippers or birthday card for two weeks!

Well it’s my wife’s birthday on Friday I cannot buy her a birthday card (unless I go on line and pay for postage) but I can buy a bottle of vodka, where is the sense in that

The virus will be here until we get a vaccine, hopefully by next summer. I fully expect short "firebreaks" to continue until then. Regional restrictions do not work as people do not stick to the rules. Very hard on the likes of Pembrokeshire but if we are honest about it many in tourism in that area have been accepting visitors they were not allowed to.

Well from what I can see today, people are not staying at home, traffic is as normal, if not even more!

I went out for the first time since lockdown this afternoon to pick up some provisions and there was hardly any traffic on the road, perhaps people had been and gone when I went out and perhaps the weather wasn't the best at that time but there was less people about than normal.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

A welsh minister says today a new nationwide lockdown will be needed in Wales in the new year. Looks like we are going to get two weeks of freedom over Christmas and the New year to enjoy ourselves.

I expect the lock down to end on November 9th and some restrictions to be in place nationally in Wales until Christmas. With a new lock down starting between Christmas and the New Year. They will allow Christmas for families but not NYE parties.

Newsagents are still open they are regarded as essential and most sell birthday cards.

Go on the ONS site and check out the weekly deaths figures since March. If you do the maths you will see that this year we are up around 60,000 additional deaths compared to the seasonal average over the last 5 years. Saying this is an ordinary unremarkable year for deaths is absolutely crackers as is comparing us to the early 2,000s - bonkers.

I have no idea , where you are , but I can honestly say as I live on a main highway, with a grandstand view, ( and obeying Mein Draykfords request) that window is showing a constant stream of vehicles on the channel its on.

I find myself in the camp of it's all hyped up inflated nonsense, I may be right, I may be wrong, but it most certainly makes me feel better dealing with what's going on than listening to the bbc news.

The worrying thing for me is, they are bringing these measures in, and they don't appear to be working!, What's next for us? Spain have brought in 11pm to 6am curfews now, what happens after that if that doesn't work?

Sad times! They are stealing peoples right of interaction, Which, still seems not to be working, And the worrying thing for me, there doesn't seem an end to the restrictions they want to enforce.. No light (at the moment) at the end of the tunnel, we are going through.

I just picked up a Chinese from Hafod packed meals, there was a group of at least 15 people who had obviously just come from a wedding. All hugging and hand shaking.

Everyone has had enough, but we're in this for the long haul.

He's got an absolute cheek putting that up. He was one of the worst offenders for disregarding social distancing and eventually ended up being closed. That was too little too late.

He's part of the reason we're back in this situation. He should swap "M Drakeford" for "N Redfearn"

It was quieter around us today but the motorway seemed quite busy, going by the vehicle noise, when I walked the dog around Tennant park.
Yesterday it seemed busier than normal, lots more traffic on our road heading through the lane from Skewen to Swansea, maybe people were trying to avoid the main road and the police?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Exactly it's all in plain sight! So why are the government ignoring it, and the only thing they are considering, are more harsher measures and lockdowns.
