“Firebreak lockdown” a masterclass in incompetence. 23:33 - Oct 22 with 24939 viewsHighjack

Dr Drakeford and his cronies have really set the bar high on the incompetence stakes on this one.

They have announced tonight that retailers will only be allowed to sell “essential goods” during the 17 day lockdown but they are unable to say what counts as essential or non essential. At the time of writing this there is just over 18 hours to go until these rules come into force. The predictable result is that the entire population of Wales will rush out in the short time that is left and ravage the shelves of anything and everything that could potentially count as non essential. Meanwhile retailers are completely in the dark with just a few hours to go they are blissfully unaware of what they will or won’t be allowed to sell or whether they’ll be allowed to stay open at all.

Absolute idiocy from dippy Drakeford and this cabal of insidiously irrational imbeciles.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

One thing is certain.
As long as we have people that deny its dangers and make out we can control it by ignoring it then we will never see it go.

Mankind ,a yet,has not woken up to its comfort zone being breached.

Well it has,and people need to accept that.

Evidence is all around yet some are seeking to dismiss it.Anyone who has lost friends/family to this curse will now what Im talking about here. When it hits you,you could die a slow ,nasty death.

They have a mortality rate , 10 times higher than Norway and Finland, and 5 times higher than that of Denmark.

New cases are also shooting up too. You need to check the facts mate

You keep going down the same route of durrr there neighbours have not as many deaths, which just about shows how dumb you really are, firstly each of those countries have half the population of Sweden, have you checked the mortality rate for other illnesses between those countries due to Sweden continuing medical care for everything else, of course you have not because those statistics do not even enter your mindset, have you compared the Danish and Norwegian current economy and job losses to Sweden of course you have not because again these statistics to not even register in your mindset, and you have the cheek to tell others to check the facts, Mate your a simpleton of the highest order.

Just like my mother died through cancer.

Plenty more are sadly losing their lives through other causes because everything has been put on hold for covid.

Sweden deaths per million of population = 586, Denmark 123, Norway 52, Finland 64.

Not difficult to grasp is it? The population is irrelevant, it's measured per head of population.

Actually wasn’t it a suggestion of SAGE, and didn’t SAGE say the data it was based on was pretty speculative. Also not accounting for socio economic issues it may cause.

No matter what happens, there are going to be more than enough people that will say it hasn't worked. No matter what.

Who decides if it's worked? What will worked look like?

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Well the Senedd, worked will mean cases stopped rising, hospitalisations not increasing, death rate dropping maybe.

We'll find out about 2 weeks after it's finished. Though they are talking about a plan for Christmas, a 4 nation plan was what that fella on the news (Jeremy Miles) said earlier. There's this,

The hard thing is going to be deciphering what parts of it worked and what parts didn't. At the moment we are at the maximum point of closure, we can't even buy bon essentials in shops that are open.

This is bound to "work" but it's not sustainable.

Would being able to buy non essentials make any difference? Would other shops being open make a difference? Gyms, pubs etc.

This is almost an easy way out.

Looking at the rate in England, the R number being aboce 2, isn't a full Uk lockdown now inevitable? Or shouldn't it be?
The biggest rise is in the over 55's now, is that because of schools and Uni's? Are young people taking it home? Because the home is apprently where the greatest spread is, isn't it?

Yesterday Europe had a 40% rise in covid deaths. I still say 2 week lockdowns don't cut it. Germany is having another "soft" lockdown but for a month and they were already doing better than us.

The R in London is worrying as there were a good number of cases there already. The strange thing is that the number of confirmed cases isn't really increasing that much despite a large increase in testing capacity.

I think perhaps Boris will see how the figures are stacking up in tier 3 areas before going for a nationwide lockdown.

You idiot, it has been explained to you countless times those countries have a far lower population and there health advisers have even come out and said they have and will lose a tremendous amount of lives to to not being able to provide medical care for other illnesses due to them shutting down, Sweden have moved in the opposite direction and saved a tremendous amount of lives because they have continued as normal in providing normal medical care, yesterday 7 died due to Covid today 9, that is far less than Wales and they have not obliterated there economy, those other countries you mention have, how can you possibly still be unable to grasp those statistics what is the matter with you man.

And their population density is on par with the U.K.

People use the Total population argument, it’s bull.

Another shambolic showing from Test and Trace again this week.

Employee had a positive test result back Monday morning. Test and Trace mob did not contact the infected employee until after lunch today. And the best part is, that they are not even going to contact any of his contacts, instead they have told him (via text) that he must contact them and tell them to isolate for 14 days.

How many billion did the Government pay for this again, 12 wasn't it...

No wonder it's spreading like wildfire, obviously coupled with peoples behaviour and attitudes, it's a recipe for disaster.

They are shambolic.

My mate had a phone call directly from someone he'd been in contact with telling him to self isolate as he had been tested positive. It took test and trace a week to get in touch with him.

Sorry, you are wrong, just because their population is lower it doesn't meant that their population density is also lower. In fact it is not.
The overall mortality of those 3 countries is below Swedens up until June this year.

https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplep

In fact their mortality went down below normal immediately after their 1st phases and they haven't had many deaths in their 2nd phases.

So to back up your claims you need to be able to show data.

I know they are, i deal with every covid case within our company, so have had quite a few dealings with them. But this one today where they are telling people who test positive to do their own contacting, took the biscuit. As a company, we do our own tracing, and have done for a while now because of the slow response times.

Another one on the weekend told one of our employees to isolate for 19 days as he had been in contact with a positive person. What they done was date the isolation period from the time they sent the email out, and not when the last contact happened.

It seems to be utterly pointless though too. My mate had to isolate but his wife was absolutely fine to carry on as normal.

She could have been spreading it wherever she went having caught it from her husband.
