10 million to be given by end of year, it will prevent Covid in 90%... is the end in sight?

It was probably when the first batches were made for the trials.
The one in the USA completed a shortened trial in October but was not announced until November.

October, 2 months before people were falling over dead in China.
And that's a trial version.Ooookay.

No idea when they would have started, but just found this (its from wiki by the way)

"The rapidly growing infection rate of COVID‑19 worldwide during early 2020 stimulated international alliances and government efforts to urgently organize resources to make multiple vaccines on shortened timelines,[9] with four vaccine candidates entering human evaluation in March (see the table of clinical trials started in 2020, below)."

All well and good NJ, but looks to me that some governments knew way way way before the start of 2020.

100% no this so called vaccine, for me anyway..

The bit I liked about this video is where he says "It's a perpetual cycle that we will never get out of", feels the case for me anyway.

Please point out where I have even mentioned "not giving people the Vaccines".
I am not arguing that vaccines are not good, what I am arguing about is that the whole attention is on the new untried vaccines when there are quite a few drugs that should be being used NOW ( and before now) and not keep repeating that nothing can be done but vaccines.
By reducing the symptoms, viral load, time in hospital, ICU use and mortality it will reduce the fear factor.
And that appears to be the whole point of not authorising their use, as Andy would say, everything coming from the so called experts is to keep the public in a panic and justify draconian lockdowns.

Ask yourself this what have they got to lose from using them, I know what the patients have got to lose by not using them, their health and their lives.

Shouldn't they be throwing everything including the kitchen sink at the virus?

ps how do we manage all the illnesses that we do not have vaccines for and the answer is medicine.
[Post edited 20 Nov 2020 18:15]

We simply don’t manage viral or parasitic disease very well without vaccines. Bacteria to an extent with antimicrobials but not for much longer. Of course vaccines don’t work for diseases not caused by infection. Like stupidity

Never heard of him. He is a pharma person and certainly not an immunologist or infection person.
There is a degree of cross reactivity between T cells produced to different infections. That rarely leads to functional immunity though. This is what most think has been happening. From other coronaviruses (pigs and chickens) which have been more closely studied for a long period and have vaccines, we know these responses are very specific to individual strains of virus. So it would seem highly unlikely since nearly everywhere (including Sweden) have had large second waves. Telegraph continues its anti-science, anti-lockdown approach.

Immune boosting!

No you can't-not without inherent dangers such an increased risk of leukaemia or induction of septic shock. You can maintain function through healthy diet and lifestyle. For some supplements are needed, yes-like Vitamin D. But the idea of immune boosting is the kind of claptrap Gwyneth Paltrow spouts on Gloop.

You also need a healthy microbiome to develop the immune system, and potentially to maintain it. But again a normal diet with plenty of fruit and veg (with variety as much as quantity), not too much booze and certainly no fags, does this for the majority.

" But again a normal diet with plenty of fruit and veg (with variety as much as quantity), not too much booze"

Therein lies a major problem, because we know that millions of UK adults do not have a good balanced diet, they eat a lot of fast food and do drink booze. Many of them are overweight and have diabetes for that very reason.
It is too late to suggest that 5 a day will help them get their immune systems back to normal if they have COVID.

The statistics show that people under 40 have far less severe symptoms than older people and the main reason for that is their immune system.
If you could give the over 40s an immune transplant (impossible I know) from a healthy 25 year old it would allow them to also fight off the COVID virus in the same way.
I understand that is what the Vaccine does temporarily if it works, but only for COVID.
You said earlier that "What I put to you is taking high dose vitamins is not going to stop an infection. A vaccine can."
It can, but it does not necessarily stop you getting it, as flu jabs do not stop you getting the flu. But they are supposed to ease the symptoms and help you fight off ther virus when they do work.
But for the last 9 months there has been no vaccine has there?
There will be no vaccine for millions of people for quite some time yet.
And you are saying that getting their immune system back in order would not have and will not help many of those with COVID experience less severe symptoms.
This the part of your logic that I do not understand, as I see it anything that helps in even the smallest way is better than doing nothing and it doesn't cost much.
The same applies to using every available medicine.
As they say in the TV advert "every little helps".

He's got a big twitter following. He has said he's "more qualified than anyone on Sage" but isn't an epidemiologist, immunologist, virologist or medical Dr.

I'd have thought they would be required to advise the government on a virus pandemic.

He constantly bangs on about false positive PCR tests.

Which despite AFDs dubious links shows, this illustrates a lack of understanding. The false positive rate is somewhere around 0.1 to 1%. False negative is higher. So at the moment the numbers of false positives to true positives is low. The argument, which is partly correct, is that at low levels of viral circulation a fair percentage of positive tests are false. This has certainly not been the case in recent months. Furthermore, the U.K. tests is more reliable than the US and many labs are now sequencing the PCR product. These are unequivocally true positives. I have used qPCR for 21 years and these armchair experts are dangerous. People are dying because they believe these charlatans. As OHL says this is a serious disease. The sooner we control. It the better.

Yes. Every little helps. But perpetuating the idea of effective treatments are available (they are clearly not -though improving) and taking supplements wards off infection is misguided. Even vaccines that protect against disease tend to reduce infection loads, shorten time of infection and help break transmission cycles.

Well if you read that Mail article the statistics they quote prove that it is not as bad as you have been led to believe, despite your own personal knowledge of illnesses & deaths.
They are talking about the whole of England & Wales, the ONS data shows that Mortality, other than for 1 day, is currently no worse than the average data for the last 5 years. And hasn't been for the last 20 weeks.
Why do you call ONS data shyte?

Vaccine will be better, cheaper and safer. That said transfer of antibody (which is reviving an old idea of passive transfer) can be effective. These approaches a bit more sophisticated than in the past too. Still used for protection of sewage workers against hepatitis C (lack of effective vaccine)
In many parts of the world like SE Asia where an endemic problem. I expect the antibody treatment that Trump received helped him recover quickly. My biggest caveat is that protection is often more short term than a vaccine, but should also work after exposure (which vaccines generally don’t-
Except anti-toxins like tetanus)
Despite what the article claims I suspect it’s efficacy will fall sharply by 8 weeks. But we will see.
Again nice to see these approaches working.

Was a simpler plasma transfer.
This is a more targeted approach and certainly useful for those who will not be able to be vaccinated. Not any sort of magic bullet, but a good tool

The statistics locally tell a very different story. There were no deaths in Swansea Bay Health Board from the beginning of July to end of September. This was when the number of infections was very low. In the last 7 weeks there has been nearly a hundred covid deaths in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot alone and it is rising every day. This has happened when cases increased and is typical of figures in both Wales and throughout the UK.
