| Wales v Finland : Matchday Thread Nations league 17:31 - Nov 16 with 4104 views | NotLoyal | Wales v Finland Wednesday 18th November 2020 Kick off 7.45pm Leckwith LIVE on Sky sports football LIVE a on S4C Highlights at 11.10pm BBC 1 There will be a wireless transmission on Radio Wales. Latest What would Wales get for finishing first? There are a number of benefits to finishing at the summit of the standings. Should Wales finish first, they would gain promotion into League A. This would see them battle it out with the big guns of European international football in the next edition of the Nations League, which, when fans are able to attend matches, will likely provide a significant revenue boost to the Football Association of Wales. There's also a direct financial benefit from UEFA. Reports have stated that Wales will bank £3m if they top their group. And arguably the biggest incentive is that it would give them a better Nations League ranking. So how does it affect qualification for the 2022 World Cup? 13 of the 32 teams that will compete at the next World Cup will be from Europe. The 10 group winners in the traditional qualifying system will book their place at the Qatar tournament. After that, there will be three more spots up for grabs, and that's where the Nations League comes in. The 10 best group runners-up from the regular qualifying system will be joined by the best two Nations League group winners, based on their overall Nations League ranking, who did not directly qualify or reach the play-offs. They will then be split into three separate play-off paths. There will be two single-leg semi-finals and a final in each play-off path, with the victor in each of the three paths earning a spot at the next World Cup. Wales are currently 19th in the Nations League rankings. What do we know about Finland ? Finland is a country near Scotland, it has many people from Finland living there, some are over the age of twelve. Those that are are under the age of twelve are not. Finland is the happiest country in the world to live, this is based on probable fact. Sweden is a country next to Finland and then so is Russia. During the war ... Finland decided to be on the side of Germany because Russia blew up Helsinki, Russia then stole lots of land, this was very annoying to the people of Finland who decided to go fishing. Then a bit later they started fighting the Russians, the Russians got really annoyed and blew up more bits of Finland, in 1944 Finland decided being German was a bad thing and in true Italian style switched sides and went fishing again. Thirty percent of all Finland’s aggressors died in concentration camps during the war, that’s a lot of concentrating and makes them very good at being a German at the time, although they will always say they were not and we’re merely fighting Russians. People in Finland have blonde hair, those who don’t have blonde hair are considered to be non blondes. The last time this was in discussion four people got together in a pub and none of them had blonde hair. Finland is famous for a delicacy called roll mop. This is a disgusting dead and over ripe fish based food which is dipped in a gravy based mans anus, and then kept in vinegar for a week at room temperature. Thereafter it be carried around in the anal cavity of a woman aged over seventy five years or more. It’s only then that this wonderful delicacy is ready to be eaten. Different classifications of roll mop are available, quite simply the longer the anal carrying, the higher the grade of roll mop. A roll mop yesterday Fishing is the main hobby in Finland, usually in rivers, lakes and the sea, fishing is taught in schools ... To have a good day out at the fishing water is required, usually with fish in it, in 1978 Albert Herring came up with the idea of fishing without fish, he replaced the fish with bread. Unfortunately it didn’t catch on although breading as it became known is still practised in Tenojoki and a Finland settlement of people near Rhyl in North Wales. Perch is one fish, another is salmon. Mothers Pride is a bread, so is a Tesco. Bjork is from Finland, as a child he ran errands for the local sweet shop manager, Trevor. When Iceland opened a shop in Finland Bjork got very angry and screamed so loudly his penis fell off. His family got very angry as well and moved away from Finland on an old tractor they bought off Englebert Humperdink’s sister Gloria. Obviously much of this has been suppressed by Bjork’s family but we do strive very hard on Swansea Independent to bring you the absolute truth in our Matchday threads. As an aside Bjork in Scandinavia means Birch, yes, I think you can see what we did there. This is a Bjork, as you can see he has been sick on his face Pre match build up here - and on here of course !

| Wales v Finland : Matchday Thread Nations league on 20:38 - Nov 17 by AndyCole | Hope our boys are watching Spain and the way in which they are demolishing Germany with confident, free flowing football. Also hope Vik is watching Morata - he could do a similar job for us, which he has shown he can do. Spain, a joy to watch. |
There were moments in the 2nd half where we were doing a Spain (albeit against 10 man Finland). A joy to watch and augurs so well. Let's hope Vik was also watching both matches and does a Morata-Moore for us if called upon.

Yes, Yes, Yes. It's great to see how far we have come in the last 10 or so years, top of this group of half decent sides, especially Finland who iirc have qualified for the euros. We have won it only conceding one and only dropping two points, the future looks bright, the future is red.

Regarding S4C - I think , as it’s the Welsh TV channel, every time pundits lapse into English phrases during the programme they should get a small electric shock. Just saying

On a side note, I wish swans fans could bite their tongue and not keep going at Abbadonato on twitter, he absolutely loves how much he has swans fans on strings. [Post edited 18 Nov 2020 22:11]

Ampadu has bought into the hype about him from the media. Needs to get back to basics and sharpish.

As a centre half he can be world class. Needs to play there. He's capable in midfield but others are better suited to it. Hopefully in another year or so our wealth of midfield options drown him out and he's forced backwards. I don't trust Mepham, he lets players run off him and while he's more comfortable on the ball than Joe I always feel there's a lapse in judgement coming. Norrington-Davies was better today. Took on his man and got a cross in early on which seemed to give him confidence. Far less backwards thinking.

It’s good that we are able to have options and change tactics. He’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but credit where credits due Moore puts himself about and is a threat in the air. He’s done a decent job for Wales. Squad has done well to be fair, I wasn’t convinced Giggs was the right man for the job, but he’s done well to be fair.

Out of the 55 teams in the Nations League, we were the last team tonight with a clean sheet and to concede our first goal.

Joe was the one letting players run off him tonight I thought. He was quality first half but Pukki run him ragged second.

Pukki was only really effective in the second half when he started playing a lot wider instead of down the middle. It is the job of the full backs to pick up wide players not the centre half.

He had to make a split second decision, go for the ball or stay with his man. He made the wrong call, but he’ll learn from it.
