That's not true is it.

One of your gems that stands out was along the lines of "If she doesn't like it in this country, she should go back to where she came from". When referring to a black lady pictured in London.

I'm not going to argue with you, because you will no doubt say you didn't post that, or didn't mean it like that. There were loads of posters who saw it before you deleted it.

What I said at the time was, if the protestors smashing up the statues Then leave our country.

They didn't have to defend anything, that's the point. They were itching for a ruck, and kicked off by lunchtime with the police.

Do you support players making a stand against racism or not? You can't pick and choose what bit they do or not. You either respect what they are trying to do, or you don't. It's easy enough.

That's your opinion and theirs obviously differed, you say this as if it all this took place on one day last summer between the BLM /Lads . Regardless of their cause , who gave anyone the right to pull down statues, desecrate monuments to the dead etc the Police were certainly not interested .

I'll ask you a question how did you feel when you saw the scenes at the Cenotaph, when they were attempting to desecrate it by burning the flag and was it justified in anyway ?

Therefore by the actions a group whose political agenda I disagree with makes me indifferent and the sooner this removed from sport the better, does that make me a racist in the eyes of others , I'm not particularly bothered, I let my actions judge me .

It was disgraceful, why would I think any differently?

Has anyone bothered to read the comments to that Twitter video to garner the general consensus and the reasoning behind it?

It seems like there are many stating the same, fully behind equality of all kinds - completely against the Marxist political movement of BLM which this gesture represents.

I don’t understand why people find it so difficult to grasp. I suppose those virtue points don’t collect themselves though and common sense doesn’t get you many.

You don’t need a working knowledge of it to know it’s something to be opposed. You only have to look at the news to see what the movement has done to society in the last 8 months to know it’s poison.

To me, it’s clear that people are itching to make assumptions and accusations, which of course is what this movement promotes, hence why it is divisive and destructive. Our society is in a far worse position since it began than before it started.

The players probably don’t understand the movement - they’re supporting the statement.

To me, they’re two very different things. Of course I don’t support the extreme behaviour of the fringe of the movement, but the statement that black lives matter shouldn’t be controversial.

I’m sure that a fair number of those booing fans are the same ones who get all het up about International Woman’s Day and bemoan there’s no heterosexual Pride.

It’s not a controversial statement - as a statement. It’s a controversial sentence however because it’s the same sentence as the organisation, intentionally so. Like ANTIFA called themselves that so anyone who questions them can be accused of being a fascist, even though they reprisent nothing but fascism.

BLM is a bit like the swastika, it’s a sign of peace to many (that’s it’s origin and still used today in many countries as such), yet to many since the war it is seen as a sign of evil. So two things can appear to be the same and have wildly different meanings and reactions.

Black lives matter (non capitals) as a statement is something I haven’t heard anyone disagree with once. It’s the association with the Black Lives Matter movement that people have a problem with. Which of course the knee bending and black power fist represents.

It’s also important to note that BLM is not just the fringe, the whole organisation is extremist. They set out their list of aims on their website which proudly included dismantling the Western family unit and dismantling capitalism.

If the players don’t understand the actions they are doing then they need to before making them. Surely if they are just making an anti racism statement then they can do it another way instead of muddying the waters between that goal and the extremist movement sweeping the west?

Marxist political movement? Oh mate, leave it there. You've not read a single page of Das Kapital, an economic theory on the life, times and situations of the 19th century. The them and us still lives on today but society has evolved enough to want to believe there's a more equitable society to be had.

And that's not strangling the life out of go-getters or the so called wealth providers, just that when you have made something of your life you don't strangle the facking life out of those that haven't.

The fact it was booed suggests they point hasn’t been made.

And stopping a demonstration against racism because it annoys racists isn’t really a great argument.

But....

We don't want to give these b@stards a platform and a chance to instigate race riots. Because that's where this is heading.

The movement was started by Patrisse Cullors, she has been pretty open about the organisation and their aims. People tend to ignore them though.

“The first thing, I think, is that we actually do have an ideological frame. Myself and Alicia in particular are trained organizers,” she said, referring to BLM co-founder Alicia Garza.

“We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories. And I think that what we really tried to do is build a movement that could be utilized by many, many black folk,”

Hey Dr P, as you predicted, since the elcection we haven't heard much from BLM, unless I've not been paying attention again!

Saying black lives matter isn't controversial but then saying all lives matter or all racism is wrong shouldn't be either. Yet I was called a racist on her for saying all racism is wrong and for stating that BLM were a divisive group who would only cause more arguments.

Anyway, I'm off down the pub (SHHH) to chair the chapter meeting of the Black Panthers, tonight we're debating was Hoover a racist and why he needed to just suck it up and get on with it? Our guest speaker is some bloke called Bobby Porpoise, or was it Otter...Seal maybe? Anyway he's going to explain to us why we need to take up arms against the police, he calls it "Cop watching"

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

It’s the same every election year unfortunately mate.

Come December/New Year it goes away again.

It’s a shame a lot of their funding goes towards Democratic candidate campaigns instead of investing into improving actual race based issues that could do with attention.
