Huh? Whittaker looked more likely to score tonight than any Swansea player has done in months - perhaps all season. I don't recall a Swansea player trying so desperately to score in a very long time. He offered a lot more than Lowe and Ayew have done for quite some time. Both Ayew and especially Lowe are pushed off the ball far too much per game too. |  |

Agreed. Being able to hold the ball up and make it stick is an absolute must up front. Whittaker is just far too lightweight.
Yes he will have a shot or two, which no doubt will muddy peoples views - but he will also lose the ball a dozen times once he has the slightest arm on his shoulder or bump in the back.
He needs to put on 2 stone and then he will be a useful player. As it stands looks like he should be used off the bench in the last 20 when defenders are tiring. [Post edited 20 Mar 2021 19:40]

Are people really going to judge Whittaker on one full game? Doesn't he deserve a few games to see how he adjusts to being a starting forward in a physical league?
It's not like Loew has done anything much in oooh, 14 games is it.
Whittaker looked dangerous, certainly looked more likely to score thn Lowe has. We played better tonight, on that evidence Hourihane should be dropped and skith starts instead and we give Whitts a chance because he deserves it, he ran and ran tonight, he got shots in and was unlucly right at the end. Yes he looks a bit lightweight but his pace and movement were ok and he nearly scored in his first derby game, yes take that into account, this start was against Cardiff and vastly more experienced pros have failed in these games. | |

I thought we weren't allowed the ifs or "should OF" arguments.
Brewster and MGW were outside our control and we couldn't have afforded them if we'd had the option to buy.
Isn't it a pretty shocking stat, 23 shots but only one on target? I'd expect better down Ashleigh road. Actully I think several were on target but were blocked so they weren't counted as on target. Cardiff did defend very well, like we used to. | |

I don’t agree on Ayew, who holds the ball up well, but people are talking as if Lowe would have had Flint and Morrison bouncing off him. Whittaker gave them problems and I’d be happy for him to start the next match.
