What do you think should happen to the Police Officer?
"It's what people know about themselves inside that makes them afraid" - "In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act" - "The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it"
I concur, its very much dependent on training , the individual's self control , the distance , your eyes sight, the weapon and calibre you're using you'd be extremely fortunate to hit your target just to disable him .
He was obviously confident enough in his accuracy to shoot live rounds four times when she was literally right up against the other girl.
If I did care id be disagreeing with you and not telling you what a sad b@stard you are.
You really have let that mask slip Ed.
You are as intolerant as anyone you brand as right wing scum
Someone like K pops up with different views to you and he gets the same treatment as you lifey. ,Builth . You cannot in any way have discourse with people with whom you disagree. It sums up you, socialism and lefties in general. Utter hypocrites .You rubbish a working class city like Liverpool and it’s ok.
Bottom line is,white people and white police officers are under disproportionate scrutiny .
And these kids with knives are peaceably stopped, mid-lunge? Lol.
She wasn’t mid lunge when he was first there. He walks towards the incident with his hand on his gun from the outset. And they are grappling (her and another woman) on the grass first before she attacks the other girl at the car. She runs down from outside the house.
As I said, a few times, she seemed to me to be out of control from the clips I saw, so if they say he couldn’t have done anything else after investigating, that’s fair enough. I’m not sure though why he couldn’t have tasered her. But maybe that’s more difficult. No idea.
But she didn’t have a gun so the situation is not quite the same. Any shot would have stopped her.
Kids with knives are routinely disarmed here without a fatal shooting. As I say, if they investigate and say he couldn’t have done anything else, that’s fair enough.
I think you are suggesting the officer should have attempted to disarm the girl, when the knife was inches away from the other girl? Sorry but that's crazy.
It's unfortunate the young girl had to be shot, but I don't believe the officer had any other choice, I don't know any of the young girls background to what led to her having a knife and about to stab someone, but it's like the saying goes play silly games, win silly prizes.

I think the main issue is that you are not allowed to shoot to injure. Single aimed shots to the centre of the body is the rule. If an officer or military service person admitted they shot to injure they would be severely disciplined, it’s an admission they didn’t need to shoot them. In any event it’s such a tough call as you said.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

It is a view from those safely and utterly removed from the blood and guts and the smell of bodies being opened up disclosing innards . It is easy to opine from the safety of ones comfortable middle class home in a leafy suburb .
Those who take a blade on to the streets do so for one reason and it ain’t to open a packet of Quavers
Young people have to be protected andPolice have to drive this by Increased stop and search . Nobody hands over a WOO willingly.

As far as I can see the Officer’s actions are beyond reproach, Lis.
There are however serious questions to be asked of the parents of this girl, starting with why their school-age daughter was running around hacking at people like a Mau Mau. What a bang-up job they’ve done in raising her.

She wasn’t with her parents I don’t believe. She was a ward of the state (or whatever it’s called there).
In care, with foster parents. At least, that’s what I read somewhere. Can’t remember where now.
Some of these kids have huge issues, not always through fault of their own. They don’t stand a chance in some cases.

Don’t bring up the Mau Mau mun.

The girl was in foster care. The man in the video, who is kicking a teenage girl on the ground, is Bryant's father.
I'm sure it was messy, I am sure she had a hard life, I am sure not everybody there was entirely innocent. Nevertheless it is the officer's job to stop a murder taking place, he did nothing wrong, I am sure he wishes she did not die. He is now hung out to dry for being a decent man doing his job, cleaning up after people who were not decent. It has nothing to do with skin colour.

Indeed, the only question I would ask over that sad situation is why did the officer leave it so late?
I have seen the video a couple of times, but the quality is not very good, but if the officer saw her with the knife, he should have put the young girl out of action sooner rather than later.
A couple of seconds more, and her intended victim could have had a knife in her stomach, when IMO it the attacker could have been neutralised earlier.

Guns are the issue, aren’t they?
Statistically, it’s safer to be a police officer in the UK than a teacher in the US.
From what I’ve seen/read, I don’t think the officer can be criticised. Having said that, I wouldn't want police routinely armed over here.

Too right, anyone who carries a knife should be dealt with robustly.
I had the misfortune to watch a video on twitter the other day, involving 3 men with 2ft long zombie knifes, attacking a random victim, just for a bit of notoriety, the 3 of them had 60 plus years inside for their horrible deed.
Apparently it was all about, one of the gang who was inside, sent another a text message and said get some notches on your knife, so they went out and chose a random target to kill, utterly despicable.
As far as I'm concerned, it would be on verbal command 'drop it' if there was non compliance, they would be gone. never going to happen though.

The reason I mentioned the family is Radio 4 has been reporting that the mother, and I take it that’s the biological mother, is trying to sue the police.
You are right though, some kids have no chance in life. Doomed from the get-go.

This just shows how misinformed and willing to say things you don't know to be true you are. There are countless examples of people being shot once, twice, even up to six or seven times and continuing to charge officers or other people with their weapon before eventually being subdued.
A police officer shoots until the person is no longer a threat. Do you honestly expect the police officer to shoot once, check to see if Ma'Khia is still trying to stab the person she's literally on top of, before deciding whether to shoot again a few seconds later after giving her enough time to stab her target multiple times?
This is from five days ago. A suspect charges at police officers with a weapon. He's shot six times and continues to run towards the officers before eventually dropping to the ground after being hit for the seventh time.
This is from last week. A suspect is shot once but is still able to shoot back at the police officer moments later.
This is from two weeks ago. A suspect manages to take 10+ non lethal rounds before throwing a hammer at the police officers. He's then shot once. He then still manages to throw a hatchet at the officers before they fire again.
There's quite literally hundreds of other examples of people being shot once, twice or more yet continuing to attempt to murder the person(s) they were targeting. There's plenty of examples where the suspect is successful in murdering or seriously injuring people after initially being shot / tased as well. It's very sad.
I've shot at targets from 25 yards with a pistol. It's hard enough to hit a 12 inch target from 25 yards. Admittedly it was an old pistol though, this was over 30 years ago. Modern pistols don't have the strong recoil older handguns did.
Loh, I used an old Webley once, I couldn't hit a barn door with it! I was Ok with a .22 though.....indoors!
” Loh, I used an old Webley once, I couldn't hit a barn door with it!”
The .45 service revolver? Now that’s a proper old-school sidearm!

I'm not sure why that is. They're from the same channel if you wish to find them. It's called "Police Activity" and it uploads ALL body camera and other media released by police departments across the US in its entirety and does not edit it in any way.

I have encountered the same problem myself, did you copy/paste the links? I find if you use the share directly below the video on you tube it works all the time, and you won't see that error.

I think you are wasting your time, too many people who have never been there have had a week to come to their own political conclusions. It's hilarious.
A man holding two machetes charges at a police officer. He is tased. Despite being actively tased he continues to run at the police officer and is now about two yards away before he is shot six times. Despite being hit six times at close range, he continues to chase the officer and is only stopped after being hit for the seventh time.
Here's another where the police officer ends up getting shot after initially tasering the suspect (which has little to no effect) before she reaches into her purse, pulls out a gun and shoots the officer at point blank range.
Quite frankly, Lisa saying "any shot would have stopped her" is the most idiotic thing I have seen ever posted on this forum.

Bottom video is error, could you edit and press share below video on you tube, it will work then.
Edit: Just watched the top video with the fella with 2 knives, I feel sorry for the officer who shot him, he sounded devastated after shooting him.
