| Booing of the British national anthem yesterday. 15:06 - May 30 with 8438 views | OptimisticJack | Normally I am so proud of our fans but felt totally embarrassed by our fans booing the British anthem yesterday. I do feel that the announcer prior should have announced that the Welsh anthem would follow and may have prevented some booing. We are playing in the English league. All too often we suspect that the powers to be dont want us Welsh teams in the top flight. Things like this add fuel to the fire. It may just be the actions that influence the minds of referees and lean decisions against us. The referee yesterday certainly didn't give us a thing and from early on I could see a red card and penalties coming against us. We are not doing ourselves any favours.

| Booing of the British national anthem yesterday. on 22:50 - May 30 by onehunglow | It is simply embarrassing .It's no wonder Wales is seen as a backward ,insular and very bitter country. It is right in our faces on this site. Deleting my posts or taking filth for replies do not change that simple fact. Wales needs to grow up |

| Booing of the British national anthem yesterday. on 15:35 - May 30 by Kilkennyjack | No welshman should ever sing God Save the Queen. Its Englands anthem, thats it. The British stuff is just guff made up to control the Celts. Booing - well i was not there...? But if i was then i would have boo’d it and everything that it stands for. You need to ask why we feel its appropriate to boo it. And ask the Scots, Irish, and Scouse people. Well done the Jack Army. |
I was there and certainly didn't sing it but never booed either We can all draw on history as a reason to hate the English hierarchy. However it was before virtually any of our lifetimes. Also the ordinary working man in England has suffered just as much as other nations. Time you grew up

| Booing of the British national anthem yesterday. on 16:41 - May 30 by A_Fans_Dad | I don't need to to ask, I already know the answer, you are a narrow minded, tribal provincial who can't let go of the past and hates the English. And you wear it like a badge of honour. It does appear to be a bit of a "Celtic" trait though. |
I am personally proud to be a Welsh Celt of Irish descent but don't believe for one minute KKJ speaks for us. His bigotry is just as bad as the acts of old that he no doubt feels angry about

| Booing of the British national anthem yesterday. on 17:11 - May 30 by trampie | OMG, I would never sing GSTQ, I'm Welsh, I don't regard it as my national anthem regardless of what the powers that be in London try and say. |
I dont sing it, but booing it is so childish and disrespectful. People seem to forget we have had and do have many English working for our club, and many supporters of all nationalities, including English

it was sadly loud and definitely not proud. I was on the fringes near the halfway line and it was clear, sadly

I agree, although for grown ups to hate at all is cringe worthy Dare I mention Cardiff ?

| Booing of the British national anthem yesterday. on 20:54 - May 30 by builthjack | Most Swans fans booed the English anthem. Most Brentford fans booed the Welsh anthem. It's how it is. People are getting silly about it. Swansea is in Wales. Most Swans fans are Welsh. Brentford is in England. Most Brentford fans are English. If some of you ex Swansea people now want to be English that's fine. Just don't make a song and a dance about it. |
Sorry Ken you are wrong on that one. There were plenty from both sides who behaved like adults Don't have to sing the English anthem but booing it is pathetic

| Booing of the British national anthem yesterday. on 03:49 - May 31 with 831 views | Jack59 | At the start, we had six players born in England and two born in Wales. So our fans boo our players National Anthem, not clever, probably stupid, certainly disrespectful. Yes we saw, Hymns and Arias, and HWFN really providing the 'hwyl' for our boys to get stuck into them. It was just like watching Stanley Baker and Ivor Emmanuel at Rorke's Drift. Very very low intelligence indeed, and time that the club took some steps to avoid this sort of behaviour. People like LT10 really need to come out and discourage this childish nonsense, it's not doing the club any good at all. Why can't these clowns find a team to follow in the Welsh League? and If they want to identify with Swansea. then follow the Ladies team. I know the majority of Swans fans would disapprove, and rise above booing National Anthems, It's very annoying and it's another case of the actions of a noisy minority damaging our chances, and even our status in the EFL. | | | |

I feel sorry for you. Quisling. Answer me this then ...... if you are so correct - and you are on a very high horse here. Why did a significant proportion of our support boo ? Are they all born bad, whilst you are somehow born good ? Or might there be other factors in play here ? Ask the Scots, the Irish, and the Scouse the same question. Might it just be the treatment of their nation by Westminster for hundreds of years - their language, their culture, their very existence as a nation (feck Team GB)...? Instead of trying to be superior to our welsh working class support, why don't you listen to it and ask yourself why ...?

| Booing of the British national anthem yesterday. on 21:38 - May 30 by builthjack | The booing of National anthems started many years ago when England fans started booing everyone elses. It's a shame. Anthems should be respected, but others followed the English. |
I’d like to think I’m better than the English fans. In more ways than I could mention. I certainly make a point never to follow the English on anything...

I feel sorry for IRA supporters but that is life. I also feeling sorry for pro EU Quislings like you who would rather support an undemocratic pseudo empire rather than your own country. I was proud to attend a British sporting event I kept respectfully silent when the UK national anthem was sung for an English club but it was so was embarrassing hearing the bigots boo. I sang locally when the Welsh anthem was sung. Fortunately cricket supporters have more respect whenever England play cricket in Cardiff. [Post edited 31 May 2021 8:22]

Well said. Sorry to offend but if you are booing the National Anthem of our country which is the sovereign land of the United Kingdom Kingdom or Great Britain and Northern Ireland, you are a cretin. You are booing your own land. It' that simple. Narrowing it down to Wales ,you might a well narrow it further to individual towns and cities, then towns, then villages. We're all better that one another, aren't we. East /west/north south. We have ,btw, just screwed up another play off and this infighting is no panacea for the pain. It simply deflects the hurt for a while. Makes us feel better ,see. Meanwhile Killy, let's have the Soldiers song then. Give us a detailed critique on the lyrics of your hero of a land of religious bigotry and state sponsored sexual and abuse and adoption of illegitimate kids taken away from their birth mother. The land you love.

| Booing of the British national anthem yesterday. on 09:01 - May 31 with 757 views | switchingcode | I’ve always thought booing national anthems is insulting and ignorant and our England fans have done this for years and I find it embarrassing and gives the opposition extra desire to stuff us.Saturday was piss poor by both sets of fans and the excuse of they started it first don’t wash with me.They were lucky to be watching a football match where so many weren’t able to get tickets. | | | |

Sadly, some England fan believe we still have India and all those other pink coloured countrie we aw on our maps in school. As a nation, we are farkwits when it come to anthems. I'd ban the lot before any games. It's nationalistic drivel. Worse in NHL pre games.

Judging by comments of some maybe we should only sign Welsh, Irish and Scots players with a Welsh manager coaching team and backroom staff. May as well go the full hog and play in the prestigious Welsh League.

Hey,Connah's Quay 30 mins for me ,Bala a nice trip of an hour, and a straight run down the 483 for the New Saints. Eye watering derbies at port talbot and Llanelly not to metion Carmarthen Town games when our welsh speaking fans can muse over our forthcoming fixture at Bangor City. Pity Rhyl went titsup as it could have been a weekender there
