I prefer the Chilli, the teriyaki was a bit bland, I haven't tried them all yet.

I just read the story about John Eyres, the super fit 42 year old who died 4 weeks after testing positive and wished he hadn't refused the vaccination.

The vaccine isn't a cure all, it's not gyaranteed to stop you catching covid and there COULD be side effects but I'd take all that over being unvaccinated and catching covid.

I hope the anti vaxers, the vax sceptical and the conspiracy theorists and WUM's don't get killed. Death is death. But then, if the anti brigade don't die they'll just be convinced they were right, even so, I'd rather they lived to tell the tale.

His sister shared the story on twitter. very sad. Won't be the last who listened to the 'I trust my immune system" line. Funnily enough, most immunologists are keen on vaccines. You have a much better chance with a secondary response than your primary one. Greater magnitude and more effective.

I've read the John Eyres article again today. It's very sad.

Of course some may say he didn't die of covid but with covid.

I'm sure the positive test 4 weeks to the day before the ultra - fit 42 year old died of organ failure is a complete coincidence.

Sadly, he’s another article regarding a person who decided against having the vaccine only to lose their life to Covid.

The fact so many youngsters are being hospitalised is concerning, it seems the Delta variant which is now the dominant strain is far more of a risk to youngsters than the other strains.

I've asked 73 and now I'm asking you.

We will start off with, Ivor Cummins. I have many more.

The joke is on you if you think an ex-HP technician, self-appointed diet expert on YouTube, knows anything about infectious disease.

He's an absolute grifter and you really are an absolute fool. At least AFD makes a reasoned argument, even if misinformed.

Outstanding!

That’s much funnier than any of the Andrew Lawrence videos.

I’d like to know AFDs opinion on Cummings. He and I may not agree on lots but he’s not daft.

Come on AFD. What do you think of him?

For me, he’s the perfect bloke to fix your printer or sell you a fad diet.

Please do, naming Cummins makes you look like a gullible mug.

You've named a man who claims he is a scientist but has written a book about a fad diet and does something with printing.

Brilliant.

Not a chance, I don't go near MSN or listen to any Government crap, you obviously do though, cause why mention them if you don't.
I make a judgement on my own thoughts and my family circumstances, Anti Vaxer's are a danger to vulnerable people, particularly the Clinically Vulnerable, no sense of responsibility for themselves or others.

From a brief read up those two appear to be more anti lockdown as opposed to anti vaccine so nowt to do with this thread.

Unlike Cummings who is essentially an American Gillian McKeith.

Aren’t the vulnerable had their vaccination ? So therefore how can someone who hasn’t been vaccinated be a danger to them.

No they were authors of the Great Barrington Declaration.

Basically anti-lockdown and other restrictions but shield the vulnerable until herd immunity is reached.

Herd immunity is achieved most quickly through vaccination.

I’m happy with my understanding.

As only 0.7 million of that age group are unvaccinated, then that makes their mortality figure worse worse, doesn’t it?

OK, I am back on my computer now, so I have access to my data.
I have obtained the Vaccination percentage for each age group from the Sky vaccine tracker here.
https://news.sky.com/story/cov
It is based on the 2019 population, so I have adjusted the population numbers to reflect the slight increase in population since then.
The under 50s total is 29457391.89
The over 50s total is 23111695, of those 22315477 have had at least one vaccination.
796217 have not been vaccinated.
22315477 is 22.315477 million and 796217 is 0.7962179 million.
Vaccinated deaths per million is 279/22 .315477 = 12.5/million
Unvaccinated deaths per million is 131/0.7962179 = 164.5/million
The difference is 152/million and as there are 0.7962179 million unvaccinated that would save 121 people.

However this analysis is still not correct because it does not take in to account that all of the 0.7962179 million unvaccinated could possibly eventually become infected.
To calculate the effect of that I have to return to my old analysis where I calculated the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) to obtain the possible maximum number of deaths that could occur, which will depend on Co-Morbidities which we have no data for.
The CFR/million for over 50s unvaccinated is 56,054, yes that many per million at the current rate of mortality. The CFR/million for the vaccinated is 14,783.
The possible number of deaths for the unvaccinated could therefore be 56,054 x 0.7962179 million which is a massive 44,631.
The possible number of deaths for the unvaccinated if they were all vaccinated could therefore be 14,783 x 0.7962179 million which is 11,770. Which would save 32,861 lives.

There is one minor problem that comes out of this analysis and that is that the Vaccinated are currently getting Covid and dying at a rate of 14,783/million and there are 22.3 million of them. If that were to continue due to loss of immunity as shown by the Israeli data it means there is still a potential for 365,636 deaths over the long term.
This means that the vaccinated are going to have to be boosted to maintain their immunity against catching COVID, because they do not possess true Immunity as proved by the current cases and death rates.
And COVID is not going away any time soon.

While I was looking for the period of the Delta data which is from the 1st of February 2021 to 19th July 2021 I found Table 4 where there were 150,436 cases of the Alpha variant with 1614 deaths which they give no vaccination data for at all.

But that is not the problem with the data that I bacame aware of, it is that the total for that period for all Variants comes to about 382,000 and 2074 deaths but the worldometers data shows for that period 1,646,767 and 22,018 Deaths so where is all the data for the other 1.2 million cases and 20,000 deaths?
