Those in power are actively trying to fight illegal immigration, nobody is blaming that on the left. What is being blamed on the left is the opposition to that, which is allowing illegal immigration at the cost of the people that live in that country by stretching already thin resources.

Nonsense again. Nothing gets “taken”, they get thrown away. It’s by design.
If you have documents then they can send you back to where you came from. If you are undocumented then they have nowhere to send you. It’s not a punishment, it’s part of the process to enter a country illegally. It’s a paid for and desired service, not a kidnapping.
The left, would prefer to be seen as virtuous even if it’s at the expense of home based deaths and illness. They have no qualms in destroying peoples lives in order to pander to the woke. |
In some cases the documents are “taken” but in other cases the documents could be “lost” or disposed of. People trafficking isn’t straight forward and there are lots of drivers and lots of victims.
Some countries don’t actually want their citizens back ( I’m thinking more about the economic migrants) as managing them and reintegrating them in to more “controlled” societies can be difficult as they’ve seen the world beyond the home countries border.
