It is a ludicrous system to send people to Rwanda though.

Don’t be so ludicrous.
You don’t become the victim of illegal immigration, it’s a choice you make. One you pay a lot of money for in order to attempt to knowingly circumvent that law despite already being in a safe country.
The victims are those that have to wait 7 hours for an ambulance and don’t have a hospital bed due to resources being overstretched.
