Committees standards should be very interesting. Be fascinated to see what Lord Pannick QC’s brief asked him to advise on and how they can justify a £150,000 brief fee

May looks a political colosus compared to the poundland Thatcher. Its astounding that Truss was the best the conservatives could muster up. Hopefully she won't be in number 10 long enough to put the Xmas decorations up.

Lets hope Truss is far, far better than any of us expect! May's biggest problem was she was so weak. She gave in, dilly dallied, tried to please everyone and ended up letting everyone down. If she'd had Thatchers strength it could have been much different.

She’s the continuity candidate, isn’t she? We may well see some uturns but up to now she’s run on the same old policies.

She will be better, just not for us. Her entire rhetoric and cobbled together sham policies are going to be hugely detrimental for the vast majority. Imagine thinking it couldn't possibly get any worse from May only to have her followed up by Johnson and Truss. If it wasnt going to be so bad it would be funny.

This is true. She should have stamped on Johnson as his plans were pretty obvious.

Stamped on him? Nah, she have had the security forces make him disappear! But she needed strength for that and Bojo was stronger.

| New PM on 10:29 - Sep 6 with 1119 views | fbreath | These MP's all go on about being green etc. but both Boris & Truss are flying up to Scotland and back on separate planes (understandable for security reasons) but why can't they just do it over video conference just like a lot of meetings that have gone on over the past few years. I know its tradition but they should be setting an example (not that I hold any mp with any regard or as someone to be admired). Be different if it was local to Downing St such as Windsor or one of the other places close by | |

PCCs ... now that has been a total waste of police funding!! They have all built bureaucratic empires and become a huge unnecessary burden on public finances. [Post edited 6 Sep 2022 13:00]

It is staggering matey. Good knows it wasn’t perfect before but for May to politicise the Policing system was her worst legacy and she has plenty of others . The most contemptible cow had her comeupance . We are suffering for her time as Home Sec,to this day. To say to Police officers at annual conference …You re crying Wolf,Police always do.,just about sums her up
