| Swansea City v Hull City : Matchday Thread 22/23 19:34 - Sep 14 with 10866 views | NotLoyal | It’s an odd world, unless you let goals in consistently in injury time, then it just becomes a pain in the Humberside. Swansea City : Friday night pre match : ‘We’ve been so unlucky’ 16th Sep 2022 16:12If tomorrows SKY game at the swansea.com stadium is to be the turning point for Russell Martin it really must happen tomorrow. If we reflect back on the swans 1969/70 season with a start of two wins in nine that led to a third placed finish that season we have to have some hope. 0 Swansea City v Hull City : Two managers on the brink ? 17th Sep 2022 09:00Swansea City take on Hull City this afternoon in an early kick off that the swans really must win to convince the clubs majority owners all is well at the swans. Russell Martin is desperate to carry the flag forwards after an upturn in performances in recent games at least. But now it really is about results. 1 Swansea City dominate and ram home their quality at last ! 17th Sep 2022 15:11Russell Martin was delighted at the end of this afternoons game as his team brushed aside a pretty mundane and clueless Hull City. Despite no goals in the first half when really the swans should have scored three at least the second half was as good as we’ve seen this season. 0 Swansea City: Steven Benda; Nathan Wood, Kyle Naughton, Ben Cabango; Matty Sorinola, Joe Allen, Matt Grimes (captain), Ryan Manning; Jay Fulton, Ollie Cooper, Joel Piroe. Substitutes: Andy Fisher, Harry Darling, Michael Obafemi, Olivier Ntcham, Luke Cundle, Fin Stevens, Armstrong Oko-Flex. Hull City: Nathan Baxter, Lewis Coyle (captain), Callum Elder, Jacob Greaves, Tobias Figueiredo, Ozan Tufan, Oscar Estupinan, Dimitrios Pelkas, Jean Michel Seri, Regan Slater, Harvey Vale. Substitutes: Matt Ingram, Greg Docherty, Ryan Woods, Ryan Longman, Tyler Smith, Sean McLoughlin, Cyrus Christie. To follow.

| Swansea City v Hull City : Matchday Thread 22/23 on 16:19 - Sep 17 by jasper_T | Went very quiet after the first 20/25 minutes. Fulton had a good game but when he dropped in for Allen our ability to play forward dropped off significantly. Would like to see Cundle in there if Allen is missing for any period. Hull very poor apart from Seri and their right back who had the pace on our left side. The young lad they had on the right wing looked completely out of his depth. Nice to come up against a side more willing to gift us chances rather than the other way around. Deserved to win by a good scoreline, but goals 2 and 3 were right up there with us at our worst in the last 12 months. Wood continuing to make the investment in Darling look a big mistake. Benda didn't have much to do but settling really well now. Helps that we only played him into trouble once or twice. Feeling weirdly frustrated because we know these players are capable of this, but have been hamstrung by dodgy tactics. We made them defend today rather than just playing in front of them, and it paid dividends. Felt like players are actually starting to think again rather than sticking rigidly to the possession script. A few scrappy periods where we went too far the direct route, but overall much better than a month ago. |
Good post that. | | | |

Indeed, Darling and Fisher are looking like unnecessary acquisitions, and a poor investment. Darling may come good, think Fisher is done here.
| Swansea City v Hull City : Matchday Thread 22/23 on 17:46 - Sep 17 with 1701 views | Dr_Winston | I like the look of Harry Darling and suspect we haven't seen the last of him yet. Naughton's knocking on and form will inevitably dip with one of if not all of the three eventually. Fisher was a pointless signing then with Benda in the squad and even more so now. I do have sympathy for him because I don't doubt we've done our utmost to make him look worse than he is, but SB was always worth persevering with. | |

Last season Benda had a couple of games and was made to play a way that was totally alien to him and was pillared for it. This time he is playing his natural game and we are seeing the benefits.

There's definitely been a change made in the way we play around the back line. That idiotic goal kick nonsense seems to have been consigned to the dustbin at least.

Yes but I’m sure it happened at the beginning of the second half both today and against SU. It wasn’t welcomed warmly by the crowd by the sounds of it.

We took a couple of short goal kicks today but nothing as contrived as that.

| Swansea City v Hull City : Matchday Thread 22/23 on 14:32 - Sep 17 by Sirjohnalot | Could’ve been a lot more. Surely there must be some optimism after that ? |
There is optimism after every win sadly in our case it is a constant stream of false dawn optimism a win is a win but Hull were truly awful and have been for there last four games.

Agree, they did it more noticeably against SU straight after h/t , but again today, tried to tippy tappy straight after the restart.

Shings, we got to start somewhere and I'm sure this will bring confidence to the squad, onwards and upwards, positivity is better than the doom and gloom that brings us all down. [Post edited 17 Sep 2022 19:16]

Not gloom and doom. Just when you thought it was safe . Hey Steveo, good to see you back Today,we won Hull are in disarray. Faffing around at the back gave US a goal. Maybe we will learn now. Three welcome points

If we hadn't conceded late on Tuesday but taken one of our chances we would be on the cusp of the play offs. Small margins.

Not far off. Against the Hull side who beat Norwich and drew away at Burnley a few weeks ago. We could have easily won 6-0, hit the bar 3 times. Well done Russ and the boys. Now cut the negative crap out.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

| Swansea City v Hull City : Matchday Thread 22/23 on 09:44 - Sep 18 with 980 views | sw02sea | I’d love to see Cooper and Congreve in midfield. They both add speed and guile, and would counteract some of the walking football we play at times. There’s also a blossoming partnership between Oli & Piroe, so I can’t see how you could possibly drop Oli for Obafemi at the moment? The last 3 games have definitely shown an improvement, mainly down to the lack of the ludicrous fannying about in our own area, and the better goalkeeper Benda playing his part in it. I’d love to think RM has seen the light on this front, but I’ll hold my judgement for a few more games to see if he’s tweaked “The Process” going forwards. From what I’ve seen of the new loanees, they are going to improve us on the bench, and as a team. It’s been a while, but I’ve started to actually look forwards to watching The Swans again ðŸ‘ðŸ‘👠| | | |

If you think all is rosy just because of yesterday ? Does that one performance make up for Blackburn home, Boro away or Luton home? There’s being overly negative , th err Ed being realistic and there’s being crystal meth overly optimistic too.
