Congratulations if you’re in the top 1% of earners. If you earn a million pounds a year you are now £54,400 better off.

Don’t worry if you earn around £25k, you’ll be around a massive £280 better off.

And it appears to be part 1 of 3 in the gamble, Loh.

Next bit is deregulation, which didn’t work in the banking system (see 2008), and allows daft stuff to happen like fracking and the reversal such as good policies like the sugar tax, which has seen recipes modified to be healthier and millions of children provided with free breakfasts through the tax taken in.

Part 3 is reducing spending which they’ve tried since 2010 by slashing public services, only this time it’s not coupled with austerity, it’s partnered with giving money to the most well off.

Trickle down economics? Shambolic.

Of course it is. You see it, I see it, anybody with eyes to see discern see it.

An excellent answer. You’ll see and hear the recurring phrase in the coming days “ a rising tide lifts all boats,” or variations thereof. It’s the hackneyed trans-Atlantic trope that’s become part of the free-market catechism. And it’s a lie.

Here’s what they’ve actually done: They’ve taken the last of the National chips to the casino and, with their fingers-crossed, put the lot on No.7.

There was somebody on here talking about ‘Accelerationism’ recently. Well, buckle-up, son. Your hour is at hand.

It was me who mentioned ‘Accelerationism’ a while back. The coming collapse is something I’ve talked about for the last 25 years, since I read a book called the survivor, by Kurt Saxon. I now believe it’s something we shouldn’t fear, but something that will lead to a better future.

Very honest of you and it is quite refreshing.
I am utterly ashamed to be from here, a place where so many care for so few.

Would it be too cynical to think that this is perhaps long term Tory strategy. Create absolute chaos, tank the economy, public sector and workers rights. Leave an unfixable mess for the inevitable Labour government.

Oooh, what next, deterritorialization or fatal strategies? Top Marx for you there Loh

it's a massive gamble and while I am far from being an expert in economics (or anything much else besides) I've watched the experts on tv, I've heard what they've compared this too and it seems like a very bad idea to me. Even saying that, I dont think you need to be an expert to understand that the poorer, the lower paid are hardly gaining anything and will lose much more because of the rise in the cost of living while some of the well off will, in many cases gain more than the average worker earns in a year! The average EPL player will gain tens of thousands per year (maybe even 100k plus?) to start with and we all know how hard up they are.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

You're decent people obviously.

Whatever happens a lot of people are going to hit hard times and as always in hare times, people with a lot of money will clean up! In the great recesiion of the 30's some people made absolut fortunes.

Bottom line is. I’ll get extra money. I’m not struggling, I don’t need that extra £500 eg. Person B, doesn’t get it. That £500 could be the difference between eating for a month or paying their heating.

Help those that need it. It’s politics of empathy not envy.

Its a game to these feckers, they'll never be short of the price of a loaf of bread, they couldn't give a fuk about people, they're all about themselves and their important sponsors, its a disgusting budget, but we all knew this would happen with Truss at the helm, she's vicious spiteful witch, you could see that from her attitude before Boris self imploded, Sunak wouldn't have been any better either and that's the sad reality

There's a World War looming, Putin making little headway in Ukraine, China gagging to attack Taiwan, with the US gagging to strike back if and when that happens, and we also got that fat little tyrant in North Korea, just gagging for a war.

Max mate, f a world war happens it won't matter one little bit. The whole world as we know it will be gone and only the survivors will be suffering but they wil all be equal in that suffering for the rest of their very limited days.

Rich get richer. Remember that next time you vote. Under this lot the lower and middle earners will always lose out.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I am no Labour man anymore than a Tory one.
I vote as I see thngs.
I do not pay any attention to traditional dogmatic voting patterns.
However right now,,Kwarteng has made me seethe as it’s basically an insulting pyss take to those who are not high earners.I’ve been a high earner but accepted th3 higher rate . To drop it 5% yet lower basic rate by 1p in pound just ain’t right, for anyone.

Conservatives face Armageddon over this
