A lot of this has happened today once again! Wasn't superb but getting 3 points away to a team very much capable and a manager fighting for his life was a potential banana skin. Well done Swansea City.

Fair play to you for being a passionate Swansea City fan , however whilst I don’t contribute to this forum very often, I don’t see how people such as those you refer to as being “ bullied “ away . To me they seemed incredibly opinionated and steadfast people who contributed to their own demise. In addition is there a test for being a “ Swansea person “ because if so , I’d like to know the criteria because I reckon I’d qualify with bells on .

I guess born and raised is a good enough reason, moving here and living here just makes you a resident! I agree, some people contributed to their own downfalls, opinionated doesn't quite cover it though, not even when you add on steadfast.

What about when Martin deserves praise, will that be given? I loved the myth that when Martin got a performance or result it was down to him changing tactics/systems etc......that goes down as one of the biggest excuses to save face EVER on this forum. They were the levels that some would go to NOT to give Martin any praise......the consistency was out the window.

Read further on Jasp, not saying there shouldn't be an opinion but holding council until the end before giving an opinion us my advice. All for opinions but when they come back to bite someone on the bum after being made in haste doesn't do anyone any favours. Happy to hear opinions but surely it helps with a full story rather than a few chapters?

So right OHL it’s no longer a forum when every agrees imagine the House of Commons without the opposing parties. For a so called Swans forum this place seems to have become a Russell Martin appreciation society Yes I have criticised him from early doors and the t was because I sat through some boring impotent football not delivering results yet there were so many on here proclaiming how much improved we were and how lucky we were to have Martin Yet here we are a year or so on and the process has been abandoned with a move to more effective football Over the year many of those who dared to question or criticise had their credibility as a fan question ed yet it was ok for those “attacking” to have had a go at our previous manager despite his success. Yes OHL many are glad to see the back of some of those posters because they posted with data and yes would often pontificate but usually did this without personal insults they backed their arguments with facts and data usually proving the opposite opinion to be wrong. Now they have gone it will be interesting to see how this site progresses as everyone will virtually be in agreement I’m sure that the amount of hits and traffic on here will be less now.certain posters are gone.

| Always remember on 18:02 - Oct 1 by Whiterockin | Give credit where its due, two goals were scored by substitutions made by Martin. As for Benda, he played a couple of games at the start of last season he was dire and deserved to be dropped for his own good if nothing else. He was not able/ready to play the way required. He went out on loan has improved and adapted into the keeper we require and is rightly first choice now. |
Agree with everything you say there but were you completely happy with the whole 90 minutes? I saw us slipping back into bad habits and that materialised in their second goal. We defended deep and conceded the penalty (a really soft one agreed) and luckily Benda was in top form and produced a magnificent save. I worry about the lapses in concentration which top sides don’t have. We need to be much stronger mentally (ironically what Cooper sides had - that real mental toughness) and continue to keep possession and turn the screw even when ahead, no mercy shown to the opposition. We’re capable of playing lovely one touch right football at times and we need to keep this going - not allow the opposition to wrest the initiative off us. The subs absolutely displayed this tough mentality - Ntcham giving one of his best displays in a Swans shirt and Obafemi the same and rounded off with a fantastic finish for the match winner. Things to work on - loads - especially turning over possession in our own half - WBA could have had 5 goals of their own easily but for a combination of rubbish finishing and fine goalkeeping from Steve Benda. I’m as easily carried away as the rest of you but as fine an away win that was it could have easily been a defeat. Let’s hope the players continue to work on eradicating silly errors at the back and work hard on their individual and collective belief in themselves. Because that’s the true factor in deciding whether a team succeeds or fails. Let’s hope we turn the corner and continue to improve - top six is easily attainable if we do - let’s develop a more ruthless nature and start putting teams to the sword.

It’s because we’ve cut out the kamikaze defending (although there were worrying signs yesterday) and we’re winning. A month ago, the vast majority on here, including me, wanted Martin out. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of praise or criticism when it’s deserved. The balanced posters will hand out both accordingly, not form an opinion within a couple of weeks, or based on what they thought of the previous manager and stick to it regardless.

We seem to get into a decent position then resort to kamikaze defending again, especially straight after h/t. RM needs to accept his approach doesn't work with these players. We've got a decent squad, which if deployed correctly could have a decent season. I'd go as far as to say we're currently in 10th despite of RM, not because, whilst giving him a little bit of praise for finally accepting the enevitable, Benda is twice the keeper Fisher is (though Benda has profited from a shift in tactics) and knocking little passes around our area no matter where the opposition are, will result in us conceding. I'm also not sure, Joe, Mattie and Jay can start together either.

I have praised Martin at times but there was a cult following of him the football we play now is different to that of a year ago if this continues then things should improve Martin has moved from possession for possession sake only 56 % yesterday we scored 3 goals and won how often did we have 70% or more possession and lost or drew

Allen, Fulton and Grimes are all too similar to play as a midfield three. For me N'tcham is the conundrum. He's got everything in his toolkit he needs to bully the division from midfield. Pace, strength, shooting, passing, he can do it all. He just doesn't do it consistently. Whilst it's probably true that if he was completely consistent he wouldn't be playing for us, we do need to see more from him than we are. Perhaps some of it is down to him mostly playing in the Pato role on the left of midfield rather than through the middle, maybe it's an attitude issue, maybe it's a management one. At the moment he's the team in microcosm for me. Potentially very good, but underperforming.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

I don’t think you got my point, I don’t post for lots of reasons trolling doesn’t come into it .
