Yes. Anyone who is supportive of girls accessing sport and providing opportunities for female fitness and emotional wellbeing. Kids will be back in school in a fortnight and loads will be wanting to play. I saw first hand the impact of the Euros win. It’s been wonderful.

We ( wales) has little to crow about sports wise. When our football team actually qualified we were mullered ,beaten by Iran included . Rugby wise ,an utter shambles Enjoying defeat of England teams shows puerility on a massive scale . |
The question I would like to ask is, did it actually stop when you were 35? 🤔
| Spain B 1, England A 0. on 14:59 - Aug 20 with 1099 views | raynor94 | If Wales had actually qualified for the tournament I could understand the gloating. This tournament has been a breath of fresh air, and a massive win for girls and women's football. And England have played a big part in it. European champions an WC runners up, an achievement not to be sniffed at | |

I think it was 15 first team players missing including champions league winners in the final count. 15 sent emails with another 3 publicly backing the stance making 18 in total, 3 got back in. [Post edited 20 Aug 2023 15:53]

As the finals progressed they can't have been happy with the runner up position, they had an easy draw all the way through, all the big guns were losing and then they were playing a team in the final seen as being in turmoil but England were so second best in the final they will have to be happy with second place as it's difficult to see them beating Spain anytime soon.

I wouldn't consider it an achievement if I was an England fan, England is a massive country in football, women's football is still developing in many parts of the World and not just in the third World, England got lucky on the pitch in the Euros and were at home (Spain outclassed them in the quarters and England fluked it with a late goal to get to extra time - I watched the match on the box, and then England were no better than Germany in the final, shots, possession etc, obviously the stats massively favoured Spain in the quarters) and then England got a lucky draw in this World Cup.. The question is 'have England achieved what they should have achieved over the years ?' in women's football and the same question can be levelled at the men, the answer for me is they have definitely underachieved, considering England's size, stature, money, development, compared to lots of other countries, they beat the minnows and then when they play a country of similar football status they tend to lose, when England are at their best in the sporting cycle those games against the big girls/boys tend to be 50-50 when they are not at the top of their sporting cycle they still tend to beat the smaller teams but lose to the big girls/boys. If I was English I would think going into today's game it was a great chance to win and it's another World Cup gone by for the ladies and no cigar unfortunately for them.

So success would have been winning the last Euros and today’s World Cup final against teams that you think would have been appropriate in a manner you think was appropriate by a score you think would be appropriate? Thankfully the thousands of girls knocking on the door of grassroots clubs and trialing for further newly formed school teams won’t be knocked by the insecurities of those in other countries looking on. If your welsh identity is based on being ABE then the world is a small place.

English people often misconstrue us wanting them to lose football and rugby games as jealousy and bitterness. Reading posts like that, I can see where they are coming from.

Yes with an English family who always want wales to do well I find these posts a bit sad to be honest could even say slightly spiteful. I watched the game and to see the grandkids getting upset over it and then reading this from grown men. Each to there own but I don't get it.
