Should we change our name to the Welsh version? on 12:35 - Nov 27 by max936
Laughable init? Dear me!
Indeed. Hence my point in my initial contribution. It is not funny really we have some even dreaming this scenario. We need To get rid of these owners as a priority and Keep the name of Swansea forever It is sacred

Is the name of the Women's team sacred to you as well.? They have only been semi professional for a few months and need their own identity wirth local provenance.
I asked you for your views on this.
The owners are as good as Swansea are going to get. Huw Jenkins when handed over the batten stated hey had access to big investors that the so called "sell outs" did not have. This has proven to be correct. They did not pile the club with debt as Burnley and Man Utd US owners have done.
Swansea fans will give grief to US millionaires prepared to work hard and like Newcastle blow hot hair up the backside of an Arab Prince.

Fixations!
Exactly. Any businessman will always say debt has to be considered to wether it is sustainable or not. Sustainable debt can help you progress. Unsustainable debt can bankrupt you. I would say the Man Utd and Newcastle debt is sustainable and helping move the clubs forward, whether they stay on the right side of fair play is debatable. Burnley is another matter as is Bournemouth. But I really can't see the point of comparing us to top 6 Premier league clubs. As for the trust, who cares anymore apart from the obsessed.

The Trust was a gift from the so called 'sell outs' and some local people with a kind heart and optimistic outlook.
They are only as good as the members and leadership. The fact that no one cares anymore says it all.
Swansea has been comparable to Burnley for decades. Their owners borrowed big money to buy the cub (reported as £60m) and the club has to pay it back at 9% interest. Mr Dell of the computer firm is the creditor.

A couple of corrections as I understand it to be. They paid about £174M for about 84% of the club (they own their stadium and training ground so there are assets). £100M was a loan at 8% interest confirmed. This means that the loan is costing £8M a year, this is serviceable in the Premier League and while receiving parachute payments. This debt could also be cleared at any time if they wanted because it is a loan from themselves not a 3rd party. They are taking a punt, time will tell if it is a wise decision. Meanwhile our owners, apart from Morris and the Trust who own about 15% and 10% respectively, who knows exactly much of the other 70% invested by a fund belongs to which shareholder. Burnley took a punt and quickly returned to the Premier League, ours huffed and puffed and blew our opportunity and now we are in a mess on and off the pitch. As I said gross sustainable debt is not an issue, net dept is an issue on a season by season basis as this is what falls foul of FFP and cause liquidation.

So not merchydd then?
Doesn’t roll off the tongue really
Don't fix what's not broken at least this way people outside of Swansea will know that the Ladies team is associated with Swansea City Football Club and not some separate entity, its all about the growing heritage of SCFC, a Ladies Team is a logical step forward, those that don't think so are living in the dark ages.

"Swansea City Ladies" do not exist. They did at one time but not now they are part of the club and semi professional. It is now called "Swansea City Women".
Your stuff on Burnley is also inaccurate. The owners did not lend the money. The Owners borrowed a reported £60m off the Dell corporation to allow them to fund the deal. The Guardian says £60m the athletic says £65m. I had read previously the rate was 9%
Their money and the Dell loan money were paid to the sellers. The debt to Dell as it has been reported, has been dumped on the club. The ownership group transferred the debt to Burnley FC. This is why the Man Utd fans hate the Glazers because they have done the same thing on bigger scale.
The Athletic called it a "leveraged buyout". I am not an accountant but am aware of the term.
The so called "sell outs" sold to Kaplan and Levien and co specifically not loading the club with debt. The common understanding of "no due diligence " being carried out sounds like another 'Planetswans type' myth to me.
Swans fans know the Man Utd fans hate their owners but do not know why. I have just explained it. This is what I try to do. Sometime fans have a lack of attention to detail. Gude is a communications and corporate Culture guru. The owners need one for sure.
I think if the poll was on a name or the Women's team only the result would be an even more resounding triumph of 'Dinas Abertawe' playing on S4C in the Gerano Cymru Adran.

The article is more than 2 years out of date. Burnleys financial structure has changed since then. Try and post facts that are facts.
As I said earlier you have taken this off thread, time to let it go.

So now,you squabble over ladies / women
God help you
You were demanding it stayed 'Swansea Ladies'. In reality you do not give a damn what it is called as long as it is not anything Welsh. It has already changed to Swansea women and you did not spot it or even care. Anglo showboating.

Take each word in isolation ie women , ladies, at the moment neither have no connection to Swansea other than a gender identity , but the proposal is changing Swansea to Abertawe which OHL and many others object to
"In a free society, the State is the servant of the people—not the master."

I don’t think they had any choice as it’s a uefa idea, however I prefer the change as long as those few German clubs all comply.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Nice try at deflection but lacking in credibility. There have been some minor changes but nothing significant. The debt was reduced but increased again. They have added some minor investors including J.J. Watt of the Arizona Cardinals of NFL fame.
All threads drift off. I was reading posts about Bolasie oly to discover they were talking about Yates.

Burnley returned to the PL under an astute head coach and careful of the field purchases. They even let their star player out on loan to Southampton, and they didn’t miss a beat without him.
A club has to United on and off the pitch, atm we have a cloudy background and a very average team that’s going nowhere. Of course I want that to change because some fans seem to think an upturn in results means anything else doesn’t matter.
