Tell that to Casey Palmer.
Swansea had 4 instances 2 seasons back
Whittaker - Pretty upset Danhda - Very upset indeed. Rhys Willaims - Extremely upset Ben Cabango - Brushed it off.
Perhaps players from Swansea are used to it. ?
None of those were in an argument or banter though. And I said it was different in different context mate. ie. if the Welsh had been raped and pillaged by sheep in years gone by, I imagine it would be offensive to chops them using sheep and sex taunts. Black people have taken some proper abuse, such as slavery for instance, simply due to the colour of their skin, so I suppose they have a right to be offended, if they are abused due to the colour of their skin. However, I honestly think if it were me, I wouldnβt take being called a racial slur personally, even if I was black. *disclaimer, Iβm not, and Iβm pretty laid back anyway, so maybe Iβm wrong and I would act differently if I were someone else. But i am from wales and I do think that if you get offended by being told you have sex with a sheep, you must be pretty weak minded. Or one of them new woke type jokers that insist on virtue signalling all over the tinternet

The two issues are separate. I feel for the people of my district NPT.
The chants are offensive but do not make me angry from the English lower classes. It is what I expect from them to a certain extent.
They are now, by social pressures under pressure from TV cameras, threats of action, peer pressure, relentless media coverage, and disdain from their own black players encouraged away from Anti African abuse. It still persists sadly.
I have been with Hereford fans close up and personal at Merthyr as my mate supports the Bulls. The chanting was not nudge nudge wink giggle. It was aggressive threatening and a blow out for serious mentally questionable thugs probably already with criminal records.
If you are a Swansea fans you cannot have missed it. Swansea fans engage and share the filth and give these people free pass. Welsh fans shared the filth in the World cup. The same people do all the pseudo obscene stuff Sheep / Airplane accidents / mass killings etc. It is a twisted way of thinking which the East stand enjoy engaging with.
I would support Coleman if he applied the three phase UEFA warning system to make the Swansea.com family friendly. It is a natural evolution. From the terrible 1970 and 1980s to today.
Sky Sports went in big on Bulgarians and Hungarians singing chants about Raheem Sterling and laid into FIFA and EUFA. When Gerwyn and his family were reduced to tears Sky Sports turned down the volume so English people would not be offended. We do not need to take this crap. It is an English problem. They should "own it" not us.
You expect the English lower class to be racist? Isnβt that racist?

Only 2-3 people have ever really moaned about the sheep thing. Given all the responses and criticism levelled at Res its hard to understand how Res got near winning POTY. In a few hours 3 votes has become 17, likePOTY, it's a mystery.
Tbh I was shocked he won. Heβs up there with the most down arrowed posters on here, Shirley

I have seen it up close and personal. It was scary shocking and intimidating. Associated with English superiority posturing and more than a hint of violence. A large proportion of the chanting fans chant with that spirit at a guess.
It is a cop out not to take offense or claim to be "a laid back sort of bloke." I am not calling anyone "a wimp" just the sort of bloke "who looks the other way". Swansea city should be up front about this and state the following.
We at Swansea city are generally against racism on the basis of colour. We are no longer committed to zero tolerant approach and are due to special requests from the east stand Ultras are prepared to put up with ethnic slurs such as bestiality for Welsh people as long as it is done in a comedic way" .

Nonsense of course.
A cop out not to take offence? What?! So you think because Iβm not offended by something someone else is, Iβm shirking? Or lying? Itβs not offensive, simple as. I do not care if someone says I shag sheep. Literally. Not trying to hide or βcop outβ whatever that really means. Itβs just not offensive at all.

I find the abuse of Casey Palmer disgusting. It is pseudo obscene designed to shock and demonstrate an independent anti social streak. Sheep slurs against the Welsh nation are the same.
They are slurs by a majority against a minority group. 99% (perhaps) of black people take offence and want action against it. I estimated 25% of Welsh or UK people in general people or more have a similar view. This poll actually tests it out. I probably understated the case. A substantial number of people are not happy with the East stand chants.
The club professed ZERO TOLERANCE. Zero means zero to these types of ethnic slurs.
Again I make case and get my character targeted. You are in a majority of forum divas who go for the poster not the argument.
I get no support in writing just in votes it seems. Racial issues need careful handling. The argument is about philosophies not historical issues. I read a plaque to the fatalities of the Senghenedd mining disaster. The youngest a was six years old.
Bravo to Rhondda for making the poll. I will review the finding once the poll is closed. This once again shows the Swansea Independent is a leader in its field.

Contrary to your belief, I express my own viewpoint and am quite happy to post my views in opposition to any poster on here. I am not going for the poster as you put it, it is just that your abhorrent views totally disgust me and i cannot sit by and let them go unchallenged. I spoke to a learned man about you at the game the other day and he told me that he doesn't engage with you as you are just an oppositional person who will argue just for the sake of it. Your views on Kasey Palmer and Tata mark you out as a very right wing, selfish man who has no empathy for his fellow man. Personally if 99% of people voted in agreement with you, my views of you and your viewpoints would not alter.

And people from South Wales have a term for those in North Wales and vice versa. Those living in Welsh cities have a term for those living in valleys and again vice versa. Those living in Welsh tourist spots have names for holiday makers and day visitors, it goes on and on. Is any of this really racism.

There is nothing wrong with 'pie eaters' or 'wooly backs'. That is not illegal. I would accept such name calling for the Welsh.
The 'sheep shagger' word is illegal under the the law under certain circumstances.
Sadly for you argument you agree that African and Asian are given robust protection against ethic slurs but Welsh people are apparently 'fair game'.
You can argue
a) Welsh is not a race. We are an ethnic group. b) You can argue it is not offensive because people are not offended (44% are by this poll) c) You can argue no one has been charge. They have "racially aggravated disorderly conduct" d) You can argue the law is an ass. It make no difference the law is the law.

Yes, I think we are all a bit perplexed by the 44%. As we were with previous polls.

we are not an ethnic group,
Where would you see Welsh under Caucasian, black , Chinese?
Honestly if the sheepshagger chant went and was illegal.
We could never say englands full of s:+t.
Give it 5 years and moaners would make sure there is no joy or singing at football. It is a slippery surface to be treading.
Honestly I can picture in 5 years club approved chants being a thing.
While the couple of hundred go to the football for the peace and quite.
The sheep shagger chant is tradition if an English man ever says it to me there is always the shag em you eat them.
Unless you actually fornicate with a sheep π I don't see the problem as these days you could probably even get married in a church.

Sadly you and the defenders of the English slurs supporters do not understand racism. You are "out of touch". 44 % object to these filthy chants and Swansea fans engaging in them.
They want to take Swansea away for the seedy old men on here and the delinquent teenage followers who have picked up the baton and want the club to honour its words of being zero tolerant and a family orientated club.
"England is full of shit" is not racist. It is insulting but does not suggest English people are prone to any d sort of vices. If you said English people are 'dirty' that would be racist. Welsh fans for not do this out of deference and respect. It is the mindset of a loser.
Suggesting English people cheat is a little racist but we are playing football after all and cheating is effectively part of the game so I would excuse it.
We are discovering that only 8% of people actually support these filthy chants."The Welsh" are a distinct ethnic group derived from Celtic origins with unique language and heritage ad a level of self governance.

Are you insinuating that The Res has multiple friends, who have similar views/accounts to him and wiish to make him seem more valid? Hmmmmm
I can guarantee I have not done any sharp practice. The result of a number of polls including by own glorious POTY award has come to a complete surprise to me. I assumed, like you, my thoughts were somewhat unpopular. Hardly any 'likes'.
Very few people like the puerile chanting (8%) is my conclusion. 44% think it is an offensive ethnic slur and the fans should be ashamed of themselves.
The 44% need to be taken seriously. In a 15,000 crowd that is 6,600. There is an pro English narrative from the core of regular posters on here who give a false impression of fan opinion based on the frequency of their posting.

If a group of young men see you and your family shopping including children and shout at you that you have bestial tendencies repeatedly on the basis of being Welsh I would advice you to call 999. It is illegal and "racially aggravated disorderly conduct".
f you are not offended than you are not offended. 44% of people are. People can abuse you and and your family and you are fine with that. Each to their own.
