This current WRU and boy have they had some competition are an absolute shambles. The East Wales bias is bordering on corrupt. How they can even contemplate getting rid of the most successful side. The side that has produced the most internationals but keep a side which have the biggest losing record of the four and is a stones throw from the capital.. It's staggering! | | | |

Jealousy? Always believing the should have the best football and rugby club and take away Glamorgan county cricket away from its most famous and traditional home and have them playing in Llanelli, gwent and North Wales just out of pure spite? Just because they were granted capital city status in the 50’s and now view themselves on par with London and Paris?
People might laugh and say I’m completely overreacting but what other reason could there be? It’s like dealing with an extremely jealous and demanding child who has to take all the toys from their siblings even though they won’t themselves want to play with them - just stop their brothers and sisters joy.
Too many “coincidences” that have seen them strip so much away from Swansea. If they could confiscate Gower and tack it on to St Mellons they would!!! I think over the years this kind of thing will backfire and hopefully a resource or private money will make our city stronger and more fiscally independent so we can restore some of these things and improve without having to go cap in hand to Cardiff city council (aka the WAG). I’m thoroughly disillusioned with it all and will fight tooth and nail against independence as things will get even worse under those idiotic muppets. This might have political implications - supposing the rest of Wales petitioned Westminster for another referendum?

Better still east west split and call them “greater England”. Or a Swansea city state to include as much of west Glamorgan as wants in. Renewable industries churning good products out and a gas field sitting just off the bay with hardly visible rigs extracting it. One can dream . We have to be self reliant here and keep any wealth generated not let central government steal it for more weapons to Ukraine and Israel. | | | |

The Evening Post once described Cardiff perfectly as "A Greedy City with a Big Mouth"
Struck a chord with me as I felt exactly that at the time and still do.
People say we are very alike as Cities - I strongly disagree - I have always found Cardiff people very "un-Welsh" as they have traits of arrogance, entitlement, a high opinion of themselves and a brash cockiness that is largely unfounded - traits that are not found elsewhere around the country. Never mind that dreadful accent of theirs. Two dates have gone to their heads in this respect - 1927 and 1955.
That 40 miles of motorway, is, as far as I'm concerned the Welsh equivalent of the Korean 38th Parallel
Renowned Swans fan, author and journo Huw Richards wrote a good article quoting SWEP over 20 years ago in WSC

In total agreement , just look at how we were treated for the now much regretted vote for an assembly , a second vote because they didn't have the result they wanted in the first one, the way the whole of Cardiff been developed including the corruption of building of Cardiff bay. Over 80% of new jobs created end up in that corner of the principality .The only reason we hold the Wales airshow is because they dont have a beach or other suitable area to hold it on ,they had no bay but we have and low and behold dispite many protests they managed to build the barrage with the nations tax payers money ,something which we still contribute towards its maintenance today. | |
