Almost as if the more he plays the quicker he'll get up to speed.

Bit of recompense for the game earlier in the season against them, to spoil Cook's recognition of his service given to QPR in the game. Payback for his play acting to get the inexperienced Yalcouye sent off which could have ended differently, what goes around comes around.

How many young players get discarded by certain coaches seemingly on the back of a few minutes on the pitch, often having to go elsewhere to reach anywhere near their full potential, coaches trying to improve their own image but falling short in the long run. Matos has turned the team around, will things get easier or harder for him as other managers get use to his tactics. For me he has developed players with known potential, even players who you would call establish Championship players have improved under him. Hopefully that will continue.
| Queens Park Rangers v Swansea City : Match day thread on 09:37 - Apr 22 with 1698 views | Legend83 | The midfield trio of Widdel, Franco and Walta were extremely effective in the press in the 1st half, and Walta stepped up his game even further in the 2nd - he almost played a beauty of a pass through for Widdel, you can see he has something about him. Fulton also excellent, him hiding behind advanced opposition midfielders seems to be a thing of the past and I counted at least 2 times he passed the ball forward :) including an assist! Last word to EOM who seems to be really developing into the player we thought he could be - his ability to get the ball up the pitch rapidly and relieve pressure is gold-dust for this team. Never a pen but his movement created the opportunity and if ever there was a team we deserved a dodgy decision in our favour... | | | |

We very much wanted something like that to occur. The pre match almost begged it, and the penalty too.

I think we can see some improvements in Widdel and Eom both of whom have the much needed ability to be an opponent.

I’m hardly Fulton s number1 fan but he did play well last night He’s never been my cup of char but he’s a great professional without doubt , as is Tymon Burgess and Cabango all of who have caused us heart flutters Anyway , it’s almost over folks

Since Grimes has gone he’s done the job asked of him admirably each time he plays. We can’t ask more than that.

Fulton played very well again last night. Matos is clearly an admirer and has been instrumental in significantly developing Jay who had previously gone a bit stale in my opinion. He seems a different player these days. As asset to the squad.

| Queens Park Rangers v Swansea City : Match day thread on 11:30 - Apr 22 with 1553 views | Dr_Winston | Jay Fulton is a good player. Jay Fulton has always been a good player. For reasons known only to themselves, a large section of our fanbase chooses to undergo a "Men in Black" style mindwipe after every good Fulton performance and we have to go through all the He's shit/he hides/he's negative" nonsense every time he's in the lineup. There's no difference between his best performances and Stamenic's best performances. There's no difference between their worst. One is consistently lauded, the other consistently derided. It's pathetic. | |

Fulton is a great pro but his performances have rarely been worthy of the praise you thrust upon him He’s doing very nicely out of our club and won’t be arsed about you and me wasting our lives arguing about his prowess He played well last night He has not always done so He is not hated Ian’s it’s not pathetic Fans insulting each other is Now leave it there Today isn’t the day J

I've criticised him him in the past, justifiably IMO. He wasn't helped being paired with MG, but I've always said he's a great squad player just not a regular starter for me.

Fulton is a horses for courses player, give him a specific job to do at any point in a game and he will do it to the letter.

Opinion No more than that Fulton was often walking a tightrope for a card as he’s passed easily and gives fouls away to compensate Stamenic is similar but much younger We’ve not touched the sides yet He will prove a superb employee and offers will come on for him Anyway, these are simply employees of our club

I love the way he goes about his business off the ball. Chatting away to opposition players, not directly but they know it’s aimed at them. This is the issue with certain players, look at what you don’t see as obvious, Widell if stats are relied upon is so so. But his run rate over a game, ability to break defences and distract players even if he’s not entirely involved and closing down space is excellent. No stat can accommodate off the ball initiative.

For much the same reason I've long thought this season that the stats have done Eom a disservice. He's done well in lots of games but the figures haven't reflected his overall contribution, ethic, work rate or various other factors that got unnoticed if all people do is look at the numbers. For example, his dead ball delivery is very good. Probably better than Tymon (oddly I think JT is much better at crossing a moving ball), but we've failed to capitalise on a lot of it. It's clear that almost every coach we've had since Fulton has been at the club values him highly, and the one who didn't was eventually forced to backtrack. Yet every time he plays we get the histrionics from people who can't see what's right in front of them.

That is an excellent reply I shall treasure that I can’t believe what I’ve just read I have never ever suggested Fulton was not a great club man and a good role model for an aspiring player Leave it there now

You've spent the last several years whining about him and complaining that we've extended his contract. Do you genuinely forget what you've said?

Many don't watch off the ball action on TV they just follow the ball. Its a lot easier at a match to follow runs, tracking back and closing down space you can see the bigger picture much more clearly,. Plus you are not swayed by the match commentators and can form your own opinion.
