| WBA v Swansea City 21/22 Matchday Thread AFTERMATH 14:07 - Feb 21 with 18861 views | NotLoyal | Dean Whitestone will be the man in the middle when Swansea City visit West Brom at The Hawthorns tonight (8pm). The Northamptonshire official will be taking charge of the Swans for the first time this season, having been at the helm for the home win over Blackburn last term, as well as victories over Preston and Middlesbrough in the campaign before that. Whitestone has no shortage of experience, and has been refereeing for long enough to have had the whistle for a Swansea game during the club’s previous stint in the Championship. He will be assisted by Steven Meredith and Shaun Hudson, while Matthew Donohue will be the fourth official. You can watch tonight’s game on Sky Sports or for those who love an evening by the wireless Talk Sport 2. We will of course have this match day thread running throughout the day and this evening. Saturday morning Championship review : Latest Team News WBA v Swansea City 26th Feb 2022 08:43It isn’t time to start making predictions in the Championship just yet but this weekends games, if we include Swansea City as well are definitely going to split the middle of this league. February and March are defining months in the Championship mid table battle which decides who is heading towards the top six and who is basically hanging around mid table until the end of the season. 0 Russell Martin remains unmoved and resilient ‘ No compromise’ 26th Feb 2022 13:29Swansea City head to the Hawthorns for the main SKY TV Championship game on Monday. With limited resources at his disposal swans boss Russell Martin is more than happy to welcome back two key figures to his match day selections. Kyle Naughton and Hannes Wolf are back, and Martin issues his unconditional philosophy once again. 0 WBA v Swansea City : Two managers with the same desperate goal 28th Feb 2022 05:23Tonight’s game at the Hawthorns between two teams on a difficult run of results could prove pivotal for the remainder of the season. Russell Martin leads Swansea City in to the game, the swans last win on the road was away at Barnsley in November. Steve Bruce on the other hand is in charge of the baggies who have won only twice in their last twelve league games. 0 The WBA curse and there’s more than one to counter 28th Feb 2022 11:34Swansea City travel to the Hawthorns this evening with numerous hurdles to overcome. As we reported this morning not winning at West Brom for nine years is one issue, the other is trying to manage Andy Carroll who just loves to play against Swansea City. But that’s not all. 0 West Bromwich Albion: Sam Johnstone, Conor Townsend, Dara O'Shea, Kyle Bartley (captain), Semi Ajayi, Callum Robinson, Grady Diangana, Jayson Molumby, Andy Carroll, Adam Reach, Alex Mowatt. Substitutes: Darnell Furlong, Matt Clarke, Karlan Grant, Cedric Kipre, David Button, Taylor Gardner-Hickman, Quevin Castro. Swansea City: Andy Fisher; Ben Cabango, Kyle Naughton, Ryan Manning; Hannes Wolf, Flynn Downes, Matt Grimes (captain), Cyrus Christie; Joel Piroe, Jamie Paterson; Michael Obafemi. Substitutes: Ben Hamer, Jay Fulton, Korey Smith, Olivier Ntcham, Kyle Joseph, Joel Latibeaudiere, Finley Burns. Wham Bam Cheers Ntcham : Swans defeat the Baggies 2-0 28th Feb 2022 22:43A stylish last twenty minutes from Swansea City ensured three points and a huge sigh of relief for boss Russell Martin. Strikes from Joel Piroe and Cyrus Christie from well supplied crosses in the last quarter brought a huge smile to the big away swans support. It was a cold and damp night, a slick pitch underneath the lights and a first win in nine years at the Hawthorns for Swansea City. 0

They looked very good for the first hour, but Boro just equalised, interesting last 30, but Bruce is starting to make a difference for them. Plus they have Andy Carroll

Haven’t checked but I’m sure the commentator said had won only 1 of their last 11 (12 if they don’t win this). I was more impressed with Boro, I think WBA look poor and expect Boro to go on and win. WBA just look to catch them on the break, there is very little to their game. The danger man appears to be Grady Diangana, they press high, create that error and use Dianganas pace to create space to try and set up Carroll or Aherne Grant. Boro look a serious football team though. Pass quickly, with purpose, one touch, not afraid to go long, width, bite in midfield. Nice team to watch. 2-1 Boro as I type.

As we need to face both, it is an interesting watch. I would say Boro look the more dangerous opposition. Providing we set up differently against WBA a result is definetly possible. WBA aren't all that

They certainly aren’t. Just checked one of the football stat sites I like and they have the table in the last 6 games and last 10 games showing recent form. Not that it will tell you the quality of the side, but will show you the sort of headspace they may be in. WBA are bottom.

But it’s easy to see the name WBA and assume they are something they are not. We have already beaten them this year and currently they are pretty damn awful. My concern is they do seem pretty perfectly set up to expose us with that pace of Diangana and the high press. If we insist on playing the pass around the back stuff then we could well get caught a couple of times.

| WBA v Swansea City 21/22 Matchday Thread on 20:42 - Feb 25 with 4896 views | jasper_T | Watching Dundalk. Poor standard, lots of aimless kicking back to front. Dan Williams has had few touches that weren't tackles. Got an assist with a corner. 2-1 down at half time. The physical standard is interesting, Dan is a small player in u23s football but here he's the norm, and that little bit faster and sharper than those around him. Meanwhile the commentators have been banging on like it's a step up with "you don't get the same time and space" cliches. Bohemians have a lad up front who is like a battering ram but I can't imagine he's more than 6'2. The pitch is also obviously not flat. edit: Dan dragged off at 52 minutes. Always angry .gixer. Would say disappointed as my expectations are so low. You honestly sanguine right now. My attitude ensures we never forget how precious our club is and why we do not deserve to be humiliated People, sadly, are accepting humiliation as part of the Martin plan/project/journey . You ,me ,armchair scum fans ,season ticket holders and the stadium cat have all being kippered . I’m a very proud individual and arrogant too so tMartin kind winds me up when he blames players rather than himself . | |

650 ish on Friday. But can see another few hundred paying on the day. West Brom have always sold on the day, I have done it there previously, and been in a long queue. Which shows that match day tickets bring in good revenue. Our lot could learn something from them.

We have a lot of supporters living within an hours drive of junction 1, so pay on the day is always sensible. Finish work at a reasonable and go last minute.

Very much so. A heavy defeat, or even a marginal defeat but littered with errors, will see him slaughtered at the next home game. There’s only so much of this fans will take and his recent display of stubbornness won’t help. Need a performance tonight as much as a win.
