Met him at a railway station a few years ago he was drunk as a skunk scrounging fags off taxi drivers . English press are good at hyping up all their sports stars, but I'd say they were not far off with Gazza, definitely world class for an all too short period, to say different is churlish. Shame about the mental health and addictions.

Yeah ok tramps thays your opinion, but he could consistently do things very few players could do, for an albeit too short period, that makes him world class for that moment in time. He won't be an all-time great as the period was far too brief.

Was at his peak in 1990 and certainly did well in that World Cup. A sad character really. But not to be talked about in “world class” terms under any circumstances.
