Because he was old, had a very dodgy immune system and was not able to commit to training sessions in harsh conditions.

Guidolin's days were numbered when he started listening to his ex-Inter Milan fitness coach over the sports science undergrad sons and nephews giving him their expert advice.

Hope he's having a nice smoke in his car on this rainy day. Top manager who stepped up for us at a crucial time, and a lovely bloke even when he was being treated like dirt.

He seemed a really nice guy. I felt sorry for him.

We should never have employed him in the first place.

Did a great job saving us, but the mistake wasn't leaving Guidolin go. The mistake was not appointing Brendan when we had the chance. If we really wanted to get back our "principles" and our playing style, as Jenkins once said, then Brendan was the obvious choice.

Then again, if you want to cure an illness, you have to get rid of the root cause. And we all know who that is.

Was brendan Rodgers offered the job though ?

As far as im aware he came to swansea had a conversation and fooked off "how much money will i have to spend huw ? "

"loads Brendan, just gotta cook the books to sell the club to some shady yank hedge funders with no real funds and there will be millions to spend, it's going to take us to the next level"

thing is Brendan knows a thing or two about bullshit, so wisely said thanks but no thanks, least thats my take, i stand to be corrected.

The symptoms of acute amnesia in this thread are frightening!

Guidolin's firing was a convenient excuse for the American owners to bring in an American "manager" -- any American "manager" with a pulse and was recommended by their "advisor," whose name and memory should be eased from Planet Swans forever.

Exactly. He was a good manager who was dealt a bad hand and was treated shamefully. His problem was that he was too much a gentleman and didn't stick up for himself. Cynics would argue that he was happy with the pay cheque. A sad chapter in our story.

Achieved a greater points per game return in his first half season than Clement. Did himself few favours by refusing to stand up for himself when it mattered, but ultimately a good job overall in trying circumstances. Was treated abominably by the club who clearly wanted to shoehorn Bradley in in his stead.

A good man and decent coach well out of his comfort zone in the vipers nest that SCFC was at the time.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Rodgers was not offered the job.

There were talks as we all know but Rodgers only wanted players in that he wanted, not others that were not on his list......FACT.
