Therefore if you are from Swansea Plymouth or Brighton,Liverpool or Manchester or Arse or Chelsea is not YOUR club. I just wish Liverpool Manchester and whoever see themselves as the big clubs simply knob off to Europe and play the other clubs with plastic jerk fans and leave the rest of us to get on with it. Sky needs the big six ,we don’t .Most genuine supporters detest them

It always makes me chuckle in the pub when they play. All there proud as fuk in their replica jerseys claiming to be a red through & through having supported them through the tough times when they finished outside the top 4. Ask 90% of them how many times they have been to Anfield or OT & they’ve never been, they are perplexed when I mention as a Swansea supporter I’ve been more times than them. Personally I’d rather see a kid in SW running around with a Bassey top on than that of some team in the NW of England.

100% agree. If you are within ay 20 mls of cardiff then cadiff should be your team. For anyone in Swansea and west ,to "support" teams in northern England that they never visit or a couple of London clubs is cretinous to me. I recall poppin down to a sgme when we played Liverpool and seeing and hearing welsh voices with LFC shirts on.I had a word and it wasn't pleasant .Just as well my missus with her soft Cheshire accent was with me.

Wales is different, we only have two decent sides, and i include the second best team Cardiff in that. Proximity is key, however for any welsh person to be supporting a welsh club is fine by me.

Absolutely. We have loads around here, they will be wearing their clobber today, never ever seen those teams in the flesh. Pathetic. Fireboy loves em.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Absolutely. I have no problem with anyone coming from say Aberdare or Abertillery supporting Cradiff.I would give them my best shot . I cannot tolerate Swansea Manc/Liverpool/Chelsea fans. The argument about us always being crap and not worth supporting is well over. Imagine how Sunderland fans feelAll wearside and Durham behind them no matter what;always have ,always will be.Great fans

| Plastic derby. on 14:23 - Jan 17 with 742 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Swansea should go after the 'Plastic fan'. The white shirt Swans logo and beautiful brand of football are very strong marketing tools in my opinion. I watched the NFL show last night and could empathise with some of the teams. I particularly liked the Buffalo Bills for no particular reason. A great QB and a running back called Chubb helped. If I was of that inclination it is not unreasonable to buy some of their branded 'merch' even for family members. Having millions of plastic fans is in the future the only way Swansea can compete. Now games are zoomed club will want their own right to zoom matches to the potential 7 billion fans onn planet earth. There is only one team called the 'Swans' playing top level football on planet earth. Swansea city own that brand, Swansea need to piggy back off the English urban giants worth billions and not get shut out of this potential market. | |

To an extent I think we have, not enough of course, but a mate of mine works in Pentyrch, a sports teacher, last year he couldn't help mentioning that half his kids turn up for games and football practice with swans tops on. May be thats just success though.

And one of the things our former owners failed so badly. Those plastic fans would not be "jacks" however .

| Plastic derby. on 14:42 - Jan 17 with 707 views | Joe_bradshaw | They don’t support those teams, they follow their results from afar. I have a bit more time for those who get on buses in South Wales and actually go to Anfield or OT on a regular basis. Only a bit though, if they’re from South Wales I still don’t get it. I visit Rochdale regularly because I have family there and am impressed by the number of kids I see wearing Rochdale shirts with a half hour tram ride to the Manc giants. | |

To be fair to Newport I' d rather watch their style of play before Cardiffs ,they do try to play and hopefully they could meet each other next season

| Plastic derby. on 14:47 - Jan 17 with 698 views | Catullus | I'll probably put the game on and watch it til I get bored so 12-15 minutes usually. I struggle to watch other teams unless it's a VERY good game. I'm calling a draw. The Mancs won't want to lose their top spot and Liverpool won't want to drop 3 points behind, if anyone is going to win I reckon it'll be the Mancs, they have momentum and there's no fans in to boost Liverpool. | |

Some may be decent people but in general my initial thoughts turn out to be correct. Why would someone support a team from another country that they have no links to? I think Liverpool are the better team but with VAR being run by Ferguson I think Man Utd may well get something . I can’t bet Liverpool @ evens today, so no bet for me, going to sit back and watch the two sets of players trying to con the ref. [Post edited 17 Jan 2021 15:20]

It’s only relatively recently we’ve had decent sides though. When I was a kid I think I was the only swans fan in my entire school. You even had kids turning up in Blackburn kits in the mid nineties. Nowadays you see kids in swans shirts everywhere which is heartening.

Years ago I worked with this absolute clown, he had United tattoos, his car was decorated with United badges. He’d make out he was the biggest fan the world had ever seen. I overheard him in the canteen once talking to like minded idiots about how it was ridiculous Darren Fletcher wasn’t being picked for England because they needed a no nonsense defensive midfielder. I head butted the desk in frustration and thought f this I’m taking my jam sandwiches out to the car.

Not a good game, all huff and puff from both sides, although my interest perked up when we were mentioned for our 2-3 win against them nearly 4 years ago . Nice
