Tesco self service when its busy always go furthers away from their station and chuck in a few heavy things without scanning the scan won't carry on so just stand there doing a double teapot looking annoyed and they will just over ride it without coming over also bags of salad, kale,,,etc will not register if its not scanned and put in bagging area as its too light in weight . ... A friend told me he's done umpteen times

Never charge your devices, phones and laptops at home do it while at work

Pretty sure the thread title is Money Saving, not Money Thieving.

My neighbour takes his electric car over to the local sainsburys and uses their free charging point. Not sure where he stands legally mind but A* for effort.

I know there is an app called "Too good to go" shops/restaurants put up food at discounted prices.

Not used it myself so am not sure how good it is, but might be worth a try.

Empty everything out of your car that doesn't need to be there, only fill the tank halfway.

Don't fall for multibuy offers in shops, sometimes they are crazy good but you can'eat all you bought, sometimes they are a rip off. Always look at the price per kilo or per one and compare.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

When going to a game, home or away ,eat before hand and do not under any circumstances but at a stadium. If visiting a pub before hand,no need to tank up either as it only impresses the impressionable.

Good points. Never eat or drink at any sporting or entertainment venue. Tank up before and after if you want to

Get the Petrol Prices App on your phone. The variation in prices can be quite stark, my local Tesco has unleaded at 188.9, Morrison’s is 182.9 while a small independent 2 miles out of Town is 179.9. On a full tank fill up the difference between Tesco and the independent is a fiver. I was coming back from North Wales earlier this week and it was even lower in some places.

We’re being ripped off- jet read the below.

It shows the state our society is in when shoplifting is offered up as an example of a money saving tip.

Interesting, although I would imagine Asda scan and go, would be an easier option.

Don't buy anything unless you've checked if you can get cashback via topcashback or quidco. There aren't many places you can't use it.

I save, genuinely save, about £450 a year.

I even buy on the Internet via topcashback whilst I'm in the shop and click and collect there and then.

Most certainly, the clientele Asda attract is beyond me. But obviously for free stuff, with the scan and go, it would be an easier option to pilfer stuff rather than Tesco.

Hmm, just wondering could you be charged with theft for failing to scan an item correctly?

IMHO you can't!! No training given, so I would think, there should be no criminal charges if caught not paying for self scanning .

Look at Vic meldrew by here, it's only a money saving tip, for crying out loud.. Times are about to get really hard, it may be slightly dishonest so what? Couple of bags of salad, Tesco have enough money.

It's stealing, no wonder you were banned from the other site, you really are a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I await the sympathy card, like you always do.

Wrong as usual, I am not banned, in fact I'm not even going to bother explaining. It may be classified as stealing, but it is also a money saving tip!, Hence my question if items aren't scanned correctly, would it be stealing?

Pilfering is theft .
Its not the companies that suffer but the employees.
It would take too long to explain it to you.

Stealing from the rich is ok then?
