He isn’t going to come out and say “they play an awful brand of football, their own fans boo them, Martin hasn’t progressed the club since arriving and they are yet again deservedly languishing in 15th”.
The problem is, Martin believes these types of things and gives him validation to continue.

Ironically its probably boosted Martin's ego and he has lapped all that up and be trying to convince the players that they're on the right track thanks to his guidance

He was definitely the problem for the goal, and after two really good saves his consistency is agin in question.
