Then went to Bala and worked on the family farm. Then Newport. A local guy says Christian Edwards helped get him to Newport. He is raw, but a 100 percenter.

Lineker was merely making the point in a humorous way that Evans had gone from a lowly welsh league to playing and scoring against one of the worlds biggest clubs. God help anyone who was offended by that.

I don’t think anyone is thatoffended, however in another context it’s against all that Lineker states daily on his twitter account.

| Lineker’ comments yesterday on 12:59 - Jan 29 with 3133 views | builthjack | I would say that about 30-35% of football and rugby players in Mid Wales are farmers. Some clubs in the lower leagues ask for no games during March as its lambing season. | |

What Swansea fans do and do not find offensive is completely out of kilter in normal society and is downright weird. I prefer Mark Chapman who is brilliant as the understated fans questioner. He was great on the NFL as well.

| Lineker’ comments yesterday on 14:15 - Jan 29 with 2989 views | AnotherJohn | I am not a Lineker fan and found myself thinking while watching the FA cup game that we don't actually see much of him covering live games these days. Then the thought came into my head: "I wonder how many extra live games per year his salary could buy for the BBC?" Even if it is only one I would swap that for Mr Lineker's contract. | | | |

I remember some on WoL commenting on the BBC Sports £5m contract with the WRU to broadcast Regional rugby games. This would show dozens of games and help safeguard about 150 rugby players and medi people. I compared this with the fees for Lineker, Shearer and Wright for about the same money .

50% of fans find Swansea fan chanting anti Welsh ethnic slurs offensive. You may not like it but that is what the voters told us. It is not "everyone" though is it?. It would have been a majority agreeing with me with a little more time. Only about 8% approved of them. I have serious doubts about people that promote and engage in English ethnic slurs. Jokes are "funny" once even sick one like this. If Lineker had f gone down that "sheep" route I would have written to the BBC and the South Wales Police commissioner. I am not a "know your place Welshman" [Post edited 29 Jan 2024 19:24]

It was 50% of posters who actually bothered to vote, a grand total of 30. It was definitely not 50% of fans by any stretch of the imagination.

Welsh football fans groups engaging in ethnic slurs and suggesting they are into bestiality. This is to suggest it is not really offensive because the recipient enjoys the slurs. Only 10 % of misfits and oddballs actually do according to the poll. The poll was an excellent idea by Rhonda and may be the first poll of this particular slur. History making n fact. Bravo Rhondda. There seems to have been a late swing into support for ethnic slurs. Some Swansea fans are intrinsically racist. Old boys from the 1980s most probably. These days they pick their targets more carefully according to the law written by our learned English friends. [Post edited 29 Jan 2024 21:15]

I suggest that you go over to the NE corner and look at the ages of the supporters there. Many were not born in the 80s, but you crack on making silly assumptions, it really shows your bigotry.

Do you honestly think that 99.9% of those who join in with the chants and songs consider for one minute what they are singing ,? If whoever leads their "singing" decided to sing a song with the words "All the Welsh are great singers and love daffodills" they would join in Of course you would no doubt claim that is positive discrimination as it suggesting two things which are no more based on fact that the S/S song
