Not seeking to be a naive happy clapper, and the silence from HQ clearly isn't helpful...but there seems to be an awful lot of guesswork re Dunne & Cook in particular. If someone feels a twinge in a friendly a week before the real stuff starts, you sub 'em. We did that, and the comms void has subsequently led to a lot of presumptions.
All I've seen is this from JS on WLS immediately after the Brentford game:
“I hope Jimmy will be OK because we stopped (him playing) quickly. For Cookie it was after a run, so I don’t know yet. I hope we can have these players available.” |  |

Fascinating to see who he picks in the middle of the pitch (with Field). I’d go with Morgan and Vale, with to make a true 3, and then Chair on the left, and Poku on the right, but I suspect it’ll be Field, Madsen, and Chair, with Dembele and Poku on the wings. Our luck knocked us for 6 last season and it appears to be continuing......
4/5 pretty certain starters will not get near the team tomorrow, how's ya luck!!!
Field MUST play in midfield tomorrow.......presume that Dembele/Puko will play wide instead of Smyth & Adamson for Dunne. Celar may start as well.

The management has got some tough decisions.
Morgan gives the ball away too much and fouls a lot so if it is a choice between Morgan or Vale I would select Vale. Not sure Chair will play where he did v Brentford, it was a waste for me. Also difficult decision whether to play Dembele & Poku together.

On 55 mins when things aren't how we want them and we're being slaughtered on both sides he'll bring on Mbengue for Adamson, Kolli for Celar, Vale or Morgan for Madsen. A little later he'll bring on Burrell for Dembele.

Think Chair will start upfront as Burrell can't be match fit to be able to start. Field and Morgan CM with Madsen ahead.
