| Swansalooser match thread on 21:36 - Feb 11 by Toast_R | What a dull game, would have taken a point before though so better for us than them. God it was crap though. |
Honestly, I thought it was quite entertaining. Swansea definitely a poorer side than us and we must have had twice as many shots as them. Wish all away games had us in the hunt.

| Swansalooser match thread on 22:18 - Feb 11 by Lblock | I'm with you Screaming at the TV for attacking changes as I really thought three points were there for the taking. Marc Poo had to be hooked. Clear MOTM for me was Cameron - really strong in the tackle, bulldozered through players and picked some great passes and good shot he was unlucky with. WE SIMPLY HAVE TO WIN ON SATURDAY |
I know you look for a reaction but you do ham it up a bit too much to be taken seriously. Absolutely can see that some will be urging the team on to win with the possibility that changes at the back would leave us susceptible to a weaker defence but your stance can't be serious? Will be important to win on Saturday as its the next stage of arresting the slump but 'must win?' I don't think so. I said before the match that I think we play in good spells and bad spells, I thought a draw would help us to end the current bad spell and start another good spell so I'm looking forward with optimism but would accept another draw as part of that process

| Swansalooser match thread on 21:49 - Feb 11 by queensparker | Pugh man of the match by Sky - LOL. Don’t begrudge him as he tried his bollox off, is clearly a good player finally losing his legs, and seems like a nice guy. |
Am I missing something here - what's being a nice guy got to do with it? To be brutally honest, I'd rather he gave his missus a slap sometimes if he did his job and also got amongst the goals!

| Swansalooser match thread on 22:01 - Feb 11 by davman | At least two. The Rangel one was a push and Barbet certainly caught Ayew. We should have had the BOS one though. If it weren't for the context of 4 previous defeats and a malaise around the club, that would feel 100% better. Aside from the lack of a finisher, which is not news to anyone but our board, that was a good away performance. We still need a win ASAP though... |
No chance there were any 'penalties' in that game. Just the usual numerous examples of players going down ridiculously softly on both sides.

No Barbet did not catch Ayew, Ayew stood about waiting for a challenge and then did the old trick of swinging his own leg out to catch Barbet's - he was almost appealing before there was contact. Cheating, simple as. Can't believe so many people bought it. An old trick done very, and obviously, badly. Seeing as the 'Rangel one' was actually also Barbet, I don't think that one was a pen either!

It wasn’t all that clear admittedly - I didn’t think he was all that tonight but at least he put the effort in, I can’t blame his ageing body for failing him, he did his best, and I don’t mind someone like him getting 2 minutes on telly and a bottle of bubbly as at least he’s not Barton or Bosingwa or some other piss-taking c–t like that I certainly don’t want or expect him to start slapping his missus around | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Thanks for clearing that up Antti. I was wondering how I must have missed the 'Rangel' push but I clearly didn't. I don't think I've ever seen us get a penalty for that kind of shoulder barge, although I've seen them given against us. I agree with the Ayew shout as well. So obvious when they''re in the pen but there's nothing really happening, so they do the sticking their leg out thing. It's generally also obvious because they're going down before the contact takes place.
| Swansalooser match thread on 09:02 - Feb 12 with 900 views | francisbowles | Good solid performance, clean sheet, got a valuable away point, deserved all three. All players did their jobs well. Good to see Barbet, Rangel and Cameron back. Though Pugh was decent and teamed up quite well with Manning on the left, Now work on the set pieces and Hugill must be due one or two that go in. | | | |

| Swansalooser match thread on 21:47 - Feb 11 by Antti_Heinola | In a tight game thought he was right to keep things as they were to be honest. He made 5 changes from sat, so plenty of rotation in there. Clarke or Chair for Pugh the only one i might've made, but pugh, while not man of the match, was solid down that side. Can see why he didn't change it. Think his in game management is largely pretty good. |
I don't entirely blame Warbo for erring on the side of caution, I'd have liked Chair to come on but could understand why he didn't given the match situation. Blame the players for not scoring the chances presented to them! Match should have been put to bed by the 70th minute. Onwards and upwards.

| Swansalooser match thread on 21:19 - Feb 11 by qprd | Warburton’s ingame Management is laughably bad We played on Saturday away from home. We’re away today with a long trip back. We have a match on Saturday... We have a thin squad And yet he doesn’t use the little depth he has... make a freaking substitution FFS |
He made FIVE changes! Got to love this thread - spent the last 3 days moaning about lack of clean sheets, 'MW MUST do SOMETHING' etc etc etc - he changes the defence, picks a more 'practical' team but of course gets no credit and everyone goes off on one for us not scoring with one even describing Hughill as not even championship striker. Its hard work on here sometimes.

Par for the course - think they learn that when they do their coaching badges. Every appeal for your team is a definite pen, every pen shout against is never a pen in a million years.

Haven't seen the Barbet one yet, but the Angel one never is - the Swansea man has a hold of his shirt for start. If that's a foul game would be stopped every 30 seconds.
