Saints are hitting a decent bit of form at the right time, but we've been conistantly solid away for a few games now. Ronnie will be up for this!
It's got a 1-1 all over for me - which will be a very respectable result if we can go on and nick a win v The Blades on Saturday. Would delighted with a 7 pointer this week...
COYR's!

There's just this malaise that runs through our whole club and always has. We win a game and then the attitude is "Oh that'll donus for 3 weeks". I'm 53 now and I don't see it changing in my lifetime. Softest club in professional football. Embarrassed.
There's just no winning mentality at our club. We're a club forever looking down, never up. Been like that since Queen's Park Rangers first came into being, in 1886.

Its one game.
After 7 - 1 loss to Coventry, we beat Charlton 3 - 1.
Basically though three goals with a goalkeeper who hadnt lost his confidence in this particular game, we dont concede and we matched them most of the first half too.
Am erasing tonight from my memory banks.

This could be why we get whacked a couple of times, every season. We just immediately put it aside, forget about it, and repeat again, and again, and again, every season.

W7Ranger.
You're fired.
Too harsh. Respect to W7R for the enthusiasm shown but they’re just not ready for the cut and thrust of Championship-level match-thread starting. Needs a season long loan out to mumsnet or a similar board then let’s reassess the situation.

Well it was kind of predictable - beat Hull away and everything is hunky dory, get thrashed by Southampton (who basically were better than us given the players at their disposal) and it's the end of the world again.
I think Gennaro Gattuso summed up our wonderful club best.

Absolutely - I can think of no better succinct analysis than this.
I'm not sure I can see Our Julien adopting this style though. A pity.

Firstly, apologies for f*cking up Match Thread Winner Stays on run.
Secondly, yes it was a shocker last night. I feared the worse when Nico went off. We were just imposing ourselves on the game, then bam! Then it was just a case of getting to HT at 1-0 to re-group, then bam again!!! The game was gone from that point.
Thirdly, we'll beat Sheff Utd on Saturday and it'll be a largely successful 6pts from a 3 game week, 2 of which were away!
So, every cloud... yeah?

I was there clapping at the end. I don’t understand why so many fans left with 20-30 minutes to go. I clapped the players for coming over when they must have wanted to walk straight off. I clapped them because I am a QPR fan. I clapped them because I have had s**t days at work. I clapped them because they will be playing on Saturday. You may not agree, but I hope that answers your query .
Spot on Jez I clapped for all the same reasons.
Plus, I respect that they came over to apologise, Jimmy held his hands up. I really don't understand the people who were giving out to Mbengue when he came over to apologise. You can't accuse him of not working hard.
We've all messed up at work. When that happens, do we really expect our bosses to sneer at us, call us w**nkers and walk off. No, especially not if a few days before we've done something really good (whatever your equivalent of winning at Hull is).
It's about respect.

Thought we were OK until Madsen went down - their first a good bit of play with #10 finishing well after dropping between the lines to receive. Perhaps Hayden should have closed or maybe the back line too deep?
The second and third, and maybe even the fourth, as an ex-GK, I can lay 100% on Walsh. I played at a fairly low level years ago, and if I'd failed to get to the corner first while NOT BEING IMPEDED IN THE LEAST I'd have correctly been dropped immediately and maybe permanently. The third HAS to be controlled or pushed to safety - it was straightforward and he got two good hands to it. The fourth he has to have a stronger hand - plenty of time and distance to get a good strong hand on it.
This is a professional and its nowhere near good enough.
Once the third and fourth go in, Madsen gone and us pushing a bit, the rest is immaterial in my view.
That 2nd goal was all on Walsh. Others have blamed Dunne, but as you correctly stated, the goalkeeper was not impeded in the slightest and should comfortably come off his line to catch the ball. It’s a bread and butter catch for a goalkeeper. Hopefully Hamer will be recalled to the starting lineup for Sheffield Utd and the following fixtures.
2-0 down at half time and with Madsen injured, I switched off and only just looked at the final score.
I don’t feel like going to the game tomorrow on Saturday and will decide on the day if I can be bothered to sit through what will almost certainly be another home defeat, given all the injuries. No Madsen, Chair, Burrell , Poku, Smyth and Obikwu doesn’t bode well.

Couldn’t agree more.
I have no doubt that the vast majority of this team is doing their very best, sometimes that’s good, sometimes average and sometimes rubbish. You should see me at work!!
To criticise the performance is absolutely fair, but I do not subscribe to personal abuse of human beings just trying to do their best under tough circumstances.

interesting points you raise here and you have made me think. I said on an earlier post that if I was still there at the end I would not have applauded. However, if the players were genuinely coming over to apologise then I totally get your points and I reckon perhaps, just perhaps I may have been a little more forgiving. Never black & white this stuff, but your post certainly made me think

Mumsnet, a close run challenger vs loose women and bottomless lady petrol.
Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

I've been reading through all these threads that are like someone has died and finally found a sensible post. Taken me best part of the day!! Well done Jez
I watched last night and was like everyone else, disappointed but I knew if I came onto this board last night there would be so much irrational tripe posted as people let off steam. Some is sensible, but some is just knee jerk (or people who only come here when we lose). We don't become a terrible side over one game. People have said he should have rested players but we know how he gets crucified for that. We are too defensive away from home, he gets crucified for that he cannot really win.
Hopefully we will bounce back on Saturday, get 6 points for a 3 game week and move on. I know I am considered one of the more optimistic supporters with glass half full (or delusional, or both) but anyone who says those players don't care need to cast their minds back to the likes of Boswinga, who ran off laughing when we got relegated from the prem. They are the sort of players that don't care. And so does the manager too and give him time he'll get there - Lets focus on getting an improvement on previous seasons and push on from there
A lot of the players last night looked understandably cattled and I think the only thing people all agree on is what in my opinion is the cancer of this club... Ben Williams. I'm not going to say anymore because there is plenty of discussion about that already on various posts.

Good post. It's a good to stand back and evaluate things. Still a dreadful performance though, and might a few more to endure this season.

One thing that came to mind, confirmed by JS comments after their 4th. Blooding young players for the rest of the season, as we strive for 16th. Morgan, not Varane, for Madsen; Bennie at HT; Adamson & Esquerdinha. All while JCS stays on bench with no sign of Smyth nor Cook.
