I think he's carrying an injury and consequently not fully fit. Don't forget he got crocked in the Fiorentina game.
I'm sure he'll improve if we give him dog's abuse though.
Why would he be selected if he was carrying an injury?
That comment contradicts the entire strategy of supposedly rotating players to avoid injury.
He is slow and cannot control the ball. He had a few reasonable games last season, but it is now like playing with ten men when he is selected.
His confidence is completely shot and IMO is part of the reason he went off, yet again shaking his head. He needs time out of the side to find his fitness, form and confidence.

This is where I am.
Last season he played 90 mins regularly, and towards the end of season did so with his leg heavily strapped.
Then in pre-season he went down with no one around him and came off. People watching the stream expressed concern. However, he played the next week, I think.
It would be weird for an asset like this, who we’ve spent a fair chunk of money on, and who is his age, for us to be giving him painkillers and playing him through an injury. So I hope it’s not true and doubt it.
But physically he doesn’t seem right, does he? He was never quick or agile but he looks slower, heavier, and not even as strong as he did last season. That’s unusual.. I’m not sure it’s a mental thing; it looks like he’s carrying something and it’s affecting his game.
He went down twice pre season end of the first Vienna game nobody near him , then at the start of the friendly at LR once again nobody near him so I’d say he’s carrying some sort of injury and has done since pre season , friend of mine is a huge Wycombe fan he said from day one kone only knows how to play as a out and out striker , a finisher thats it , we seem to want him to play as a hold up back to goal striker and he simply hasn’t got the skills/ experience to play that way , he went Immed down the tunnel today when he went well

I've heard that argument, that if you pay you should be allowed to do whatever you want, and it's true, you absolutely should and do have that right. It's also true that if you decide to boo the players, you either believe that the booing is helpful - which I guess fine if that's what you think, but that doesn't exactly feel like it's true - or you think it's more important to vent your feelings than do the thing that's best for the club.
I don't judge those that boo, god knows I've done it often enough when I've got too frustrated, and mostly watching from behind a screen I haven't put a fraction of the time and effort into following the team than most have, but I have a lot more time for those supporters that somehow manage to support the team through thick and thin than those that boo - and in part because I wish I had the patience to be one of them.

I agree. They are clearly trying to manage something with him, but it's just not working and affecting his confidence. He needs a break.
Also, from the criticism as well. I don't like pile-on criticism in any form. It's school playground stuff. I don't like it in the ground at Kone. Nor in the match reports against Lloyd, which is becoming a theme they relish in, no matter who the author.

He's an old fashioned number 9. Get him fit and surround him with pace and he'll still be valuable in this division. Not sure we'll ever get big money for him though.

I think it’s a combination of things mostly fitness and confidence. The Bolton game must have been hugely damaging ( I see Dykes bagged a couple against them yesterday) Strikers thrive on confidence. he had been on an ‘empty’ streak before he joined us last season but managed to hit the ground running, The consolation v Coventry was worthless to everyone but him. You don’t score the goals like he did last season (not just in terms of return but some of the quality of those goals too - remember the home goal v Coventry?) if you are out of your depth. He missed a chunk of pre-season and is now injured again. People are so quick to judge. Remember how poor Burrell was at home to Millwall - albeit playing out of position - once he got a lucky break at Cardiff he was up and running. Confidence plays a huge part for strikers. Go a few games without a goal and they start to second-guess what they usually do instinctively. His injury yesterday may be a blessing in disguise. Get him fully fit and firing and the goals will come. He is hugely important to us and was the main focal point of our attack in the second half of last season. As a non-attendee I would never criticise what fans do at matches, but booing Kone a few games in after the season he had last year seems unnecessary - he’s not Joey Barton.

He was overworked at the end of last season, copped an injury, and hasn't fully recovered and that's affected his confidence. Unfortunately it means he becomes the boo-boy's target for the duration.
I'm just worried that with Kone out of sorts, Kolli god knows where, the new guy whose been here so long yet I dont know his name yet because he never plays, we are relying soley on Burrel and Lloyd. If Burrell gets injured we are seriously fked. And it looks like he will have to play the vast majority of games. Concerning.

I just don't believe he's as good as people make out, people had high expectations after the start of last season, he has glimpses of being a good striker, I just don't believe they happen enough.
He has 10 goals in nearly 3500 minutes.
He is slightly better than Dykes in terms of goals per minute. Michi Frey had better goals per minute. He's obviously better than Armstrong and Celar for goals per minute.
He's still quite young though, we are a better team now, I'm hopeful he will progress with a better service.
I agree with this, I didn’t see much last season to suggest he was a good Striker at this level but obviously still young enough to progress.

It was pretty obvious we massively over-played him last season, especially when Burrell was out. There were games where he looked more gassed than Moses Itauma last week, literally stumbling about. And then, as has been said, he kept breaking down in pre-season.
I don't think he's a worldbeater but he's clearly struggling physically. And it is a problem – if he's this out of form, and we're not even letting Kolli near the bench, that's the 2 best finishers at the club taken out of the equation.

He was getting stick from fans from the 1st minute, even worse on social media. I feel like i've missed something with him. He didn't play well but clearly carrying a knock and struggling. He'll be a key player for us this season. I am baffled by the stick he is getting
