First things first, this is very much purposefully an over-reacting post.
Secondly and perhaps the most important thing. Monk needs to cut out this air of arrogance he's coming across with. The way he talked about getting back to the Swansea way and pretty much disrespecting Laudrup in the process is starting to make him look a bit silly, naive and out of his depth.
WTF is this 442 nonsense? WTF is Gylfi doing out on the right, but not just for half hour when it was clear to everyone it wasn't working, but no, for the whole game?
It's a bit much to expect a lot from Garry though, you know, a player without Premier League management experience and as it goes without any Premier League playing experience. The arrogance of the Board in appointing him is not just risky, it's pretty baffling really.
We've got one week to sort things out, there's an awful lot to do in that time coming off the back of the only friendly game I can ever remember where the team was boo'd off... And in fairness they deserved to be, or at least Monk did.

I'm trying to be positive after yesterdays farce. We had no shape, players were out of position, very little passion. I understand they were great team, but so are Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool. GM has a week to sort out all the issues of yesterday. More worryingly is that he didn't try to change a system that was so blatantly wrong. Not a great start for GM. The only way is up. |  |

Not expecting anything other than a defeat at OT to be honest - no disgrace. A decent performance from a properly set up team would be a bonus though.
Burnley - depends on how we play. A defeat wouldn't be the end of the world if we show some signs of cohesion.

Our one meaningful friendly one week before the start of the season and we play a flat 442 with players out of position and we don't change it when it's obviously disastrous.

Its a forum pal, people being fairly allowed to post on them is kinda how it works. It is not in my nature to let bullies win.
It is not a pals coffee club where you get together and exclude people whose opinions don't accord with yours.
My mind is made up by monks own observable actions and comments. I thought Monk was great for us as a player (as was Tate). I dislike his behaviour of late and the cringeworthy comments but as a fan of Swansea City football club (which is not the same as the manager or the Board or any particular player) I am stuck with Monk and must hope the club does well under him or it is dealt with quickly.
I have not been a long term season ticket holder and regular away supporter to see our team fail. But quid pro quo Monk likes to openly criticise people so he should not expect any less in return if he is not up to the high standards he so often boasts about when he blythly dismisses the hisroric achievements of others (despite his own inexperienced and unqualified state).
So I am sincerely hoping we win at OT and every other game in the season and am well able to deal with those who will pretend those like me with concerns will be sorry we do well. Believe me I will be delighted. Sorry if that does not fit your agenda |  | | |

Careful Warwick, you're almost sounding like you're willing to give Monk a chance this season. 
Jokes aside though, think you're pretty much right about yesterday, however, indefensible is maybe going a bit far. GM is still learning his trade, not ideal I know, but we can't expect a Van Gall or Mouriniho yet. He surprised me with some interesting tactical desicions last season, (playing both Pablo and JDG in new positions for example) and they seemed to do well. On this basis I'm willing to believe he'll learn a lot from yesterday and will give him a bit more time before deciding whether he deserves a roasting from me on here. | |

Most clubs have supporters who are pro or against the manager. This PL season at this stage probably only Man U, Liverpool, Everton and Man City have a supporter base that are hugely in favour of their manager......at this point.
Myself I'm a GM man. I believe in him and what the club wanted to achieve in appointing him. That said if he isn't performing then he should absolutely be sacked. I'd be gutted, but so be it.
As to when, it depends how badly we are doing. I believe there is an International break in Nov. Not sure how many games would have been played by then, but that would be the best time.
Unfair to talk like this, I suppose yes. But the board have to be prepared. |  |

I'll always remember the pre-season of Martinez's first full season here. We looked awful, Monk in particular. Really couldn't see him playing a part of that season let alone what happened afterwards. Lesson learned there that pre-season is never a particularly accurate guide and maybe with Monk in particular it isn't.
Let's see what happens in the next month eh. There's plenty of opportunities for doom and gloom in the coming weeks. |  |

Remember it well. We looked shapeless and Monk was terrible. I remember the Neath game where he looked like he had never played the game.
