Why is it for us to get involved though? Why are we always the world police? Isn't this sort of thing the exact reason the UN was created for in the first place?

There are arguments both ways, but we all know what the media would be saying about a labour PM in a Labour/SNP coalition government using royal prerogative.

Again, I believe Parliament should have been recalled and consulted. It's simply a comment about mandate (not only in this situation, it's a wider point).

The prime minister has exactly the same mandate as any other - she was asked to form a government, has done so, and there has been no vote in the house to change that. She's not a partial prime minister, she is prime minister. If Corbyn was PM within a coalition he would also be prime minister with a mandate to act as prime minister.

I believe that the royal prerogative should only be used for military action when there is an urgent threat to the UK. I don't believe there was an urgent threat to the Uk here, hence why I think parliament should have been consulted.

The problem with the UN in this situation though is Russia just veto.

So the UN is completely pointless then.

You think the UK government should funnel so much tax money into armaments and NOT use them? Madness!

Agreed, Russia has this quaint little problem that is doesn't do democracy! It has gone from a feudal czarist monarchy, then communism especially during Stalins era, perestroika during Gorbachev and Yeltsin time and now back to the authoritarian rule of Vladimer Putin. Moscow likes to blame anyone, but itself , no it wasn't Assad ordering the dropping of barrel bombs from a Mil-8 helicopter onto civilians, it was the evil British staging this attack to divert their unjustified accusation that the innocent Russian Security services may have been involved in the attack on two Russian citizens in Salusbury.

So no link to the report from this "Swiss lab" and nobody questions precisely how this "Swiss lab" got a sample...

Ahhh...

https://www.rt.com/news/424149-skripal-poisoning-bz-lavrov/

Just so we're clear, killkenny (you bastard! ) believes that a Swiss lab magically got hold of a sample of the nerve agent ( despite Russia complaining they had no access to the site or the victims ) and that nobody should really question the veracity of a comment by the Russian foreign minister.

Clearly Russian complaints about not having been given access to or a sample of the agent used was just a bluff whilst they uncovered the TRUTH.

Apparently the Swiss lab is internationally recognised being one of only five centres permanently recognised by the OPCW.

Unfortunately Russia keeps vetoing any United Nation resolution. They should change their voting system. If any Country vetoes a Security Council resolution it should be passed to the General Assembly to vote on. Two thirds majority vote to take any action.

The United Nations is crippled if any one the Security Council is happy to support an allied country. Russia supports Syria,

You forgot to mention that the other four centres received samples and they concluded the agent was as Porton Down described.
