Sad news. Brilliant on Just A Minute although I first remember him on "it's the quiz of the week". Sale of the Century.

Lovely guy and a great all-rounder.

A knock of 96, excellent innings Mr Parsons RIP...

Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

Yes, very sad news indeed.

Apparently he was a true gent and, according to Gyles Brandreth, one of the nicest guys in show business.

Used to love Sale of the Century as a kid.

It looked really exotic, coming all the way from glamorous Norwich!

Wasn’t it “and now, live from Norwich, it’s sale of the century “?

Good broadcaster, true professional. Thought he’d ‘score a ton’ to be honest.

Couldn’t stand Just A Minute though. Well past it’s sell by date imo.

Sorry, thought he'd died years ago!

Hell of an innings and good pickles in Burry Port

As already mentioned a great innings of 96.

I remember him well in the Arthur Haynes and Benny Hill shows on tv, but only found out today that he was the voice of Tex Tucker in Four Feather Falls ... A children's tv program from the early 1960's.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Used to love it as a kid, he seemed a very tidy guy.

I think the opening line was “and now, from Norwich it’s the quiz of the week”.

If I remember correctly it was,

"and now, live from Norwich, it’s the quiz of the week."

I never quite understood how the sale of the century was every week.

RIP Nicholas, a true broadcasting great.

Remember seeing him at the Grand Theater where he played The Narrator in The Rocky Horror Show. He was brilliant. RIP Nicholas.

I would like to spend an evening with Nicholas Parsons because never, ever, ever, bloody anything ever.

Eighty five series of Just a Minute. Longest running compere of a show in radio history. That's an impressive career.
Someone has archived the show and all but about a dozen are available..
Amazing how such a simple idea had such longevity.
