Flying to Dublin Thursday for the rugby, been to Ireland for a friends wedding, but never to Dublin itself, is it as expensive as people say?

If you get a chance visit the Guinness museum it takes a good few hours to go around but well worth it.
The tram stops right by it

The Landsdown Hotel is a good crac before and after the match.
We watched us beat Cardiff on the Premiership there.

Stay away from the temple bar and you will be ok.

On saying that, if you like Guinness it might be expensive for you, the last time i went for the wc qualifyer i must have had around 15 - 20 pints of it in one session as it goes down very well

A few years back in Temple bar, might have been the Oliver st John gogerty, it was very expensive and the prices went up as the evening went on.

Found a,bar north of the river, off oconnell street that was cheaper and more genuinely Irish.

In 2008 the pubs on the walk back from Croke were better than the central ones.

I was at a conference at Croke Park about a year ago-around 6 euros a pint, though you may well be looking at north of 7.50 around Temple Bar. That said paid 7.50 for an IPA in London last autumn

No, not really, just like Guinness.

Not surprising you replied with a sarky comment.

It is expensive compared to UK.
When my relatives come over to the UK they always travel light and go shopping as they save a fortune on the costs back home.
Be well prepared.
Worth taking a prepaid money card loaded with Euros then you can use as you use your debit card over here

Believe it or not, the Guinness brewery bar (the 360 one) serves the worst Guinness in Dublin.

Thank you, goodnight and bollocks

There is a Wetherspoons called the Silver Penny to the north of the water. Prices may have gone up but generally has good deals for grub and ale.
