Without a war the people would not be in Europe. As HJ says the traffickers are very much to blame in ‘selling’ the U.K. As stands we take far fewer people that Germany or France for example. Christ knows why they want to come here over Germany.....

Lol for years people from countries where there is no conflict have been sneaking in to the UK you header.

That's the sad fact. They come here and to other countries for safety and a new start and this is what happens

I thought this country was institutionally racist, sexist, far right and just generally evil?

We should part exchange the incoming refugees for the lazy white generational benefit claimers. Generation after generation of spongers who will never attempt to work in their lives. They are the real stain on this country.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Incorrect, Tax evaders are the biggest strain on the country.

“In any case, at £1.3bn to £1.6bn, it appears outright benefit fraud accounts for less of a burden on the taxpayer than the £4.4bn officially assumed to be lost by evaders. So why, the government was asked this week, does it devote more resources to the former?“

You might want to look up the word stain, as in shit. Not strain, as in bearing down, trying to shit. There is a difference.

They all need to be sorted.

Benefit cheats who fraudulently claim need to be sorted as do the lazy people who have no intention of working and are happy to enjoy a comfortable existence on the State whilst contributing nowt. If they don’t want gainful employment, then they should be made to work for the dole, they can tidy up graveyards, pick rubbish off beaches, verges at the side of the road etc. All the stuff that should be done, but isn’t. People who want to work but who may not have the skills, the experience should be supported with training opportunities, placements and education so they can develop the skills they need. That will give them the chance to one their lives on. Employers should be encouraged to support these activities by participating in training programmes etc.

Tax evaders/dodgers including the large corporations should be pursued and should make fair contributions to society.

If everyone makes a contribution, maybe we would have a better society and we’d all have to pay a little less for it.

Just read this, it beggars belief...

Pierre-Henri Dumont, the MP for Calais, attacked Britain after news of the boy's death and blamed Britain for the teenager's horrifying demise.

He said: “What we all feared happened. How many more dramas will it take for the British to regain an ounce of humanity?

“The inability to apply for asylum in Great Britain without being physically present is causing these tragedies.

"The migrants present in Calais do not seek asylum in France. They refuse the support offered by the state in dedicated centres, preferring to risk their lives on rafts."

Un-f*cking-believable.
So in the MP for Calais' world it is we who are responsible for the French allowing these camps to develop on their coast, for the French allowing the people smugglers to operate on their soil, for France's refusal to implement the 'Dublin Regulation' (which insists that the country where an asylum seeker first enters the European Union becomes responsible for them)
..."they refuse the support" he says.
If that is the case then they are not genuine asylum seekers, so France should send them bloody home.
Weak.

You are wrong, please acknowledge that you are wrong...

From Full Fact;
"Although it’s certainly true that crossing the Channel without authorisation isn’t a legal way to enter the UK, Article 31 of the UN Refugee Convention states that refugees cannot be penalised for entering the country illegally to claim asylum if they are “coming directly from a territory where their life or freedom was threatened” provided they “present themselves without delay to the authorities and show good cause for their illegal entry or presence”

As to Turkey and Lebanon, they are countries that border territories that refugees are pouring out from. Of course they have millions in refugee camps. The international community have assisted them also, acknowledge this fact
The UK sent more money and aid to Turkish refugee camps than any other country in Europe.

People in Syria were running away for 2 reasons;
1 - they are terrified of Syrian government forces (The vast majority were from Sunni muslim communities)
2 - they are running away from Islamists (Sunni Muslim ISIS)

Saudi Arabia, a country which has funded the ISIS nutters, did not take any of the refugees.
Iran, a country that backed the Syrian government took no refugees.
Russia, for that matter took no refugees either.

Why on earth do you assume it is our responsibility?

Forgive me, but were any of these countries taking millions of European refugees during WWII?

If the people of the Middle East are the responsibility of the West aren't you arguing for Imperialism?
Aren't you arguing that the countries of the Middle East are unable to govern themselves and are unable to form alliances and police their neighbourhood (in terms of geopolitics) ?
....because if their instability is our responsibility wouldn't it make more sense for our governments to provide the necessary stability there, in the middle east, rather than stand by and watch as millions of people wash up on our shores?
And wouldn't that require the West imposing themselves and taking power?

You missed the bit explaining the legal right for them to transition through other countries. Funny that. They have a legal right to claim asylum, and they don't have to do it in teh first country they come to (or second, etc.). It's as simple as that. It doesn't mean we have to grant it, and we don't grant it to about 2/3rds of those who apply.

It's not just our respnsibility - that's a lie being spread by racist c*nts like Farage and his supporters. It's every State's resppnsibility who signed up to the UN Convention relating to the Status of Refugees. We were one of the earliest to do so back in 1954. We have far fewer applications for asylum than many of the main EU countries and we take only a fraction of those who claim. Time to show a bit of humilty and stop stop spreading lies.

The principle of the Dublin Regulation:
the first Member State where finger prints are stored or an asylum claim is lodged is responsible for a person's asylum claim.

If these people are in France and are not claiming asylum, they are there illegally.
France needs to send them home or grant them asylum.
By making an illegal crossing of the channel they are de facto entering this country illegally and have left a relatively peaceful country, France, to do so.

They have no more right to be granted citizenship here than I would if I rock up in Japan demanding citizenship.

French prosecuters are claiming that the 16yo boy was actually 28. Still a waste of a life but highlights an issue with illegal arrivals without paperwork.

Really need an international response to the refugees. The UN should be involved in receiving them at the first safe port and should allocate them to countries on a shared basis after basic security checks.

The target should be to assist in making thier countries of origin safe with the ability to live there.

On the other hand I can't understand people who think that the UK should just accept anyone who travels through numerous safe countries to walk into the UK.

That's what the EURODAC regulation is for, the storing of fingerprints and biometric data to assist in establishing which EU state an asylum seeker should be claiming asylum in because many of them transit across states.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

The minute they leave a safe country to try and reach another richer one without applying for asylum they are no longer asylum seekers, they are economic migrants.

This should be obvious to anybody with a functioning brain.

They shouldn't, thats why I said they should assisted by the UN to distribute the asylum seekers between all Countries. After a security check, which is important don't you think.

Why should the UK accept loads of asylim seekers, who I agree with the above are now mixed with economic migrants, who travel across multiple safe countries to get to the UK.
