A teacher in Paris has been beheaded in an Islamic terror related event.
The teacher had completed a lesson on the freedom of expression class where he showed Charlie Hedbo cover of the drawing of the Prophet Mohammed.
One of the pupils relatives entered the school and beheaded the teacher. The attacker has been shot dead by police.
The freedom to express political and religious views without consequence is sadly eroding in the Western world and it’s creeping into every aspect of society even down to media blackout and cancel culture.
Swansea Independent Poster of the Year 2021 and 2022.
"A father of a 13-year-old pupil at the secondary school in middle-class Conflans-Sainte-Honorine told Reuters Mr Paty had told any Muslim students to leave because the cartoon would likely cause offence.
However, one pupil stayed behind by mistake, and later told her Muslim parents. They filed a complaint against the teacher and held a meeting with Mr Paty, the school principal and an official from the education authority. "
So he pre-warned the children and let any who would take offence leave before showing the cartoon.
"Jean-François Ricard also told a news conference that the 18-year-old Russian-born Aboulakh Anzorov posted a photograph of the history teacher's body on Twitter after beheading father-of-one Samuel Paty, 47.
He added that the suspect, who had been granted a 10-year residency as a refugee in March and was not known to intelligence services, had been armed with a knife and an airsoft gun, which fires plastic pellets. "
A refugee from Russia!!!! Not a refugee then, an economic migrant who was intolerant of the way of life in his new Country.
This is the danger, the potential that people willfully ignore.

Maybe we should be more explicit about our values.
Imagine if the Charlie Hebdo cartoons were splashed across the British media? It would send out a strong message about what is acceptable here.
We’ve got a fantastic history of satire through which nothing should be off limits, including religion and we shouldn’t be afraid of the difficult topics. This could be a way of normalising our values.
Being more explicit about our values wouldn't change it. It would just drive the extremists on to even greater efforts.
It's their job as "good Muslims" to spread Islam see. Many Muslims think it is their duty to convert non Muslims to the one true god. Of course extremists also think it's ok to murder those they cannot convert as well as those who say bad things about their god.

People talk about the evils of Islam but some people who label themselves as Christian are really no better e.g. the ones that rejoiced, proclaiming Covid-19 to be God's punishment upon sinning, unbelieving and unclean society.
Warped scum, zero-end-product hateful warped scum and revolting Christians that type are. On the other hand you get the total opposite(s) i.e. Christian Methodist project volunteers that help the homeless in Swansea, the various other Christian church volunteer groups that have helped their U.K community during the Covid-19 months, the overseas aid Christian aid workers many whom risk their own lives helping others.
Isn't there just a slight difference in proclaiming devine intervention with COVID and actually be-heading someone for teaching Freedom of expression? Unless of course those Christians went around deliberately infecting people in the name of God, there is no comparison and even then it would not be that close.
At no time have the so called mullahs been stopped from teaching that murdering unbelievers is not only acceptable but a desired outcome.

France has freedom of speech classes while our universities have a policy of banning anyone who has a different point of view to their woke students and has all but abandoned the idea of debate.

I said this on this site two years ago - that universities are becoming more intolerant to certain points of view. I'm glad others are waking up to it. These campuses should be a smorgasbord of opinion, just like they are a truly wide range of race and culture. Trying to find one accepted way a behaving. talking and acting, to appease all these disparate worldviews simultaneously, is folly and typically quixotic of the powers that be.

That speaks volumes for the academics and bean counters running some of our Universities. They are too afraid of upsetting anyone in case they loose funding or students take their money elsewhere.

That's a real problem. I believe around 70% of academics at these institutes are left-wing. I certainly heard that in a recent debate. I'm not here to make this political. But I think this shows that as more liberal-minded in general, these people have created a problematic, paradoxical environment, where all colours and races are allowed, but not all opinions. You can't have one without the other.
I of course support anyone of any background to go into higher education. But we can't ignore that there will be many belief systems rubbing against each other. And good I say; but don't try and pretend that all these people can coalesce around one user-friendly, non-offensive way of life. Don't pretend there won't be friction. It's a crazy idea.

Thing is,left wing i seen as good/bet/acceptable and anything deemed right wing a reactionary scum thinking. It's really not new.
These sites clearly show that "right wingers" are as,MS RAYNER says, "Scum". The term is used regular on these sites to describe anyone who might be a Tory voter.
This attitude, this class war,has been killing us for centuries

and yet we are told it's nothing to do with religion.
It has everything to do with religion-a particularly dangerous one like Islam
I find it ironic given Islam’s totalitarian monotheism that they treat Mohammed (a man, no more ) as God. Especially when their entire religion was set up in defiance of the divinity of Christ.
Mohammed even gets prayed to with Allah - surely that makes him an associate of the un associated one??
It’s mind a controlled Protection racket - you don’t pay zakat then you will pay the jizya - nowhere near a religion let alone an Abrahamic one.

Monty Python pretty much insulted every Christian with their portrayal of Jesus. Apart from some indignation from some Churches,no national outrage whatsoever.
Even with our faults,it places us in a different planet to Islamic countries had Mohammed been truly ridiculed.
Actually they weren’t portraying Jesus. They were portraying a fictional character living in the time of Jesus.

No sure about no national outrage as it was banned in lots of areas right across Wales, from memory it was banned in Swansea at the time (I assume that ban been lifted in Swansea ?).
Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

The ban was lifted in 1997.
It was banned in Norway completely at the time and it was marketed in Sweden as "So funny that Norway banned it".

In the act of banning it they inadvertently made it the most watched film in the world. Ironically it was still banned in Aberystwyth when the actress who played Judith in the film was mayor there.

Have you watched the interview with Cleese, Palin, Malcolm Muggeridge and some bishop bloke discussing the controversy around this film? They try to make this point over and over again for about an hour but muggeridge and the bish are having none of it. John Cleese has since said it’s the only time in fifty odd years of knowing Michael Palin that he’s seen him angry. Palin is famously the nicest man who has ever lived but even he couldn’t deal with that nonsense.

Swansea had a very left wing council in those days they decreed that no one should have the freedom to watch it or boycott it.

Thatcher's Britain, hmm I thought the Cons were strong in Swansea West, did they have left wing councils in Torquay and Bournemouth as well, there again did they have a left wing council in Aberystwyth.
